man sea fox has gotten so much better they were never bad or anything but that redesign in early 2000s really took them up a notch.I ended up getting a 24 ft with 200 mercury and I'm super happy.
great review - but it's very important to buy the size engine the boat is rated for at the very least - a 115 with a 60 gallon fuel tank is sketchy offshore imho ........
If you’re a diy guy, their giving boats away in Texas at a marina! They’re basically free! Just buy the trailer at salvage price!!!! I’m picking up a flooded inboard center console (marina owner thinks 24’) for $170.00 With title! YES One Hundred And Seventy Dollars!!!! She has center consoles, cuddy cabins, walk about, ski boats, bass boats, house boats, AND MORE! Some run good and go for a bit more, some are virtually totaled, and are free with bill of sale if you bring your own trailer !! I can drop marina name if you’re interested!
Its sad but Boat Works in S.Windsor CT. had a chance to be a dealer for Sea Born but they didn't sell well, everyone that came in bought a Robala or Cobia...this is what the sales.an told me...I would love to have a 239 Sea Born with an Etec G2 300 hp
Hi Rodney, we go into much more precise detail in our weekly boat reviews that are featured on our website. If there's ever a boat you want to know more about in regard to features and storage, that is the place to look! www.floridasportsman.com/column/bb-featured/ Here are the ones from this episode in case you wanted to find some more information on them. www.floridasportsman.com/2016/06/24/seafox-186-commander/ www.floridasportsman.com/2016/07/12/release-196-rx/ www.floridasportsman.com/2016/01/22/sea-born-lx22/
Oh my. SeaFox is literally the cheapest built boat on the market. Take your cell phone's flashlight to the side of the hull. It will light the whole deck its so thin.
That Seafox 186 commander would be the perfect boat for me here downunder if it just added a T Top that folded down flat in front of the console for towing, and lifted up and pinned in place for use. We need the shade here downunder in our sub tropics. But yes I like the look a lot. I’d hate to think what it costs by the time you do exchange rate & shipping downunder tho. I’m trading downsizing from a 25ft enclosed pilot house and want something that weighs on trailer less than 6500 pounds for towing restriction on vehicle (Lexus GX 470?). Also has to be small enough for the wife & I to handle alone & we are both in our 60’s.
Could go with Bimini (deck tent )if you go with short boat if you stay over night with electric hot plate for cooking dinners to rod holder on the rail. or just pack a tent and beach it for the night. who doesn't like natural camping well (some women) LOL. 24' is nice size versatile boat
I bought a 22 Angler brand new back in th 90s. It was $13k with a 150 Johnson and perfomed flawlessly, never broke, an i beat it to death since i was in my 20s. Jump ahead to 2022, i bought a 2023 Sportsman 232 Open with a 250 Yamaha. $115,000. I was MUCH happier with my 22 Angler. Just sayin
My mooring is limited to 18ft and I have/need to upgrade from my Whaler Dauntless DC. What to do.. what to do. If you have a mooring around here you had better keep it.
I bought a Key West 196, Suzuki 140 4 stroke. I've been trying to find out if it is considered capable of running off shore to some of the closer reefs, maybe 15 or 20 miles out. With plenty of freeboard, full foam filled flotation, and a 60 gallon fuel tank, comparing my boat to the boats in this video I feel like I should be good to go. It is outfitted with a marine radio, and Garmin chart plotter. What are you thoughts on a Key West Bay Reef 196 being blue water seaworthy?
These guys are so full of bull! You never hear them give one criticism and i have seen many to choose from, you know they are getting paid to represent these boats-, total full of crap
