Kathleen, First, thank you for these videos. Just Wonderful. Here's my question. I see other You Tubers who have a garden full of dahlias so many so that I assume they sell them to florists. But when the camera shows the dahlias close up you see crawling bugs, crawling in and out of the petals. Before you sell the dahlias or use them in an arrangement, do you dip them in some solution to get the bugs out?? Thanks for your answer.

Great question - I'm sure some of them do but I also know some of them grow them just for their own enjoyment and pleasure. For example, Laura & Aaron from Garden Answer don't sell theirs but instead, use them for their own designs, gift them to friends and family, and donate them to local events and fundraisers. Plus I think Laura and her mum do an annual design + giveaway in town and the pure joy they feel from that experience is why they grow them in the first place. On a totally different scale, my favourite local dahlia growers farm on a super small scale. It's kinda like their backyard is their dahlia patch. So, it's basically the exact opposite of what you see on all those RU-vid channels 😆. But I never would have known about them had they not reached out and told me about their business and their product. And I love to use them as a point of reference and will tell anyone who grows quality ingredients to just reach out to local florists cause ya never know.🎉
