Waves may have been a great concept and Flowr.fun may have been pushing it to its limits, but Florr.io Waves had limited potential no matter how hard the limits were pushed.
Maze/World had much more to it than this.

i think it would be great if they had both waves and the maze type of thing and the petals in waves be put back to those lower values and mobs too so you don't progress too quick this would make people like me happy and the people who don't like waves happy

I've said this in the past and I'll reiterate it here again: waves was very much showing its cracks by the end of the lifespan of the gamemode. Temporary petals slowed down endgame progression by adding a huge risk factor (whether strategies needed experimenting or just the risk of runs in general), and that helped make the game more gripping again, but by then because of the game having permanent progression (from even before ultras to now) means there is a lifespan to how far the game can go.

yeah keep in mind that when florr was reworked had nothing with longevity in mind and no matter the gamemode people will either reach the end or its unrealistically possible to do so (world map in a nutshell) which ruins incentive to grind at some point. honestly i dont see why people liked world map so much, maybe they just liked m28 leaving the game for several months and no changes, but constant updates is also what keeps maze/world map alive. currently its way better since super petals do you far more potential to grind in higher zones instead of being stuck in the same mythic ones as ultra players

at this point, ive spent more time in florr then any other game, even including childhood games such as rayman and minecraft i agree with the statement that florrio waves had limited potential, atleast in world map you somewhat had a choice of what do to and it changed things up, the new maze world is probably one of the best eras (if m28 were to make the ultra zones just that bit easier to survive in withought having to abuse eggs) in my personal opinion the best way to advance the game further would be to first off make zones that were very hard to farm previously easier and the previous main farming zones more annoying (which is already kinda being done with the new sewers and the nerf of ant hells), this helps players feel like they managed to obtain a lot out of the world map (even though it got very boring at the end). personally i would like to see another form of the turn 2 mythic petals to an ultra gimmic me implimented with supers under a "combine 2 supers for a higher rarity" with some nerfs obviously, and also they go back to being 2 supers after like 2 hours and take a day or two to recharge this ability, if you see what i mean. because i feel like there needs to be some way of making having multiple of supers that dont stack good, even with the removing of absorbing and also for letting multi-super players be able to advance well withought needing super eggs nessesarily also oops i just realised i went rambling on for a lil too long xD, i might suggest this in game-suggestions actually lmfao

the thing about waves is that progression scales very directly based on your petals so players will reach in reasonable time where it then starts getting boring. world map instead adds rate limits to extend that period quite a bit but whatever the gamemode it will always be a problem of it either being impossible to reach the end or finish it too quickly

Well said. I never enjoyed waves because of how important it was to have professional squads in order to progress. That and also how the game gave you everything on a silver platter. I thrived in the centralia era of florr, creating a server dedicated to the rare and niche things of the game. Now that spiral has returned, most of the previously rare things are common/devalued. Though, seeing the game change so much and still playing it everyday makes me think that adapting to change might be more "professional" than having skill itself. Niche rarities is still a large part of what inspires me to play the game, being reduced to attempting super petals and grinding for basics in the hel zone.

thing is with rare mobs and such that just means huge rate limits with no incentive for late game petals and m28 always inflates the game over time so don't expect it to be always valuable

I honestly think that the world era is the best era of the game. Currently the Progression from commons to mythical are smooth, but trying to get to ultras at the moment feels very boring, since it takes far longer than it has in the past. The maze era thrived because back then it wasn’t as competitive, only a few people had multiple ultras. Now there is such a huge gap between the power levels of the top players, and those who want to grind ultras, it’s insane. IMO, there should be a new rarity added between ultra and mythic, keeping the ultra bosses and having this new rarity be like the current ultra, except not being able to drop ultras, and maybe with certain rules so that these more powerful players cannot just greed these monsters basically every single time.

no the thing is some zones are way too hard and have sucky loot in return so everyone just crowds to ant hell (which now sucks, m28 thinks nerfing ant hell to the ground fixes everything) and then the pros just occasionally super hunt or farm certain zones like sewer or desert while other zones untouched because simply how bad they are
