I am 75 and have never been a last minute shopper. Our family stopped exchanging gifts several years ago. The kids are all grown up and everyone agreed, gift giving had become more of a chore than a pleasure. So now we just get together and share a meal. Some years we put together a Christmas puzzle, decorate Christmas cookies or decorate gingerbread houses. Golden
Thanks for sharing the pictures of the mansion and elk! The mansion was awesome! Golden Wool Our family just gets together and eats, no more shopping! And I sure don't miss it!
Lisa, you are an amazing stitcher. Those stockings are gorgeous! I remember several of the patterns from a magazine I subscribed to in the 80s or 90s. I loved that magazine! It was such a joy to receive one in the mail. Golden memories! I’ve never done any wool appliqué……it always looks interesting to me. But crossstitch is my thing now. I shop with Amazon nowadays. Family members fill out their wish lists and I shop from those so folks get things they really want. I am almost done ordering. Several of the gifts come here and I’ll wrap them and take them to our older son’s house where we have spent the last few Christmases. I put out Christmas things here that I love. This year I had to undecorate the little table tree because our lovely cat Elizabeth was undecorating it each night at the expense of my mother’s old ornaments!!!! Now it just has the lights and she leaves it alone! I love each and every one of your flosstubes! Merry Christmas!!!!
Thanks Lisa for another great flosstube and congratulations on our finishes. We don’t do much shopping - our family is pretty fortunate and we have plenty. So we opt for experiences instead. Mexico here we come! Golden and 2024
Golden. Gather. I will be trying to find the presents for my granddaughters that I’ve “hidden” during the shopping season-to finally get them wrapped. Hopefully I’ll remember where they all are!😮
The golden years are sometimes as busy as our younger days! Beautiful pieces as always. Your stockings are beautiful. I’d have a hard time giving them away as well. When I as younger and my children were growing up, my shopping was done by October. Now this year it’s all money. lol easy
We celebrate Hannukah which started last week and my kids prefer doing an online gift exchange, so easy. The grandchild gets real gifts to open! Golden.
I had to have my shopping done early as we are celebrating on the 16th this year. Several years ago I had a broken leg so all my shopping was done on the internet and I have been using the internet more. I love wool quilts and have to gather my wool to make a new one. I think your stitching is awesome.
Love that Ugly Christmas Sweater kit. Great job on your stocking finishes. I stitched 3 of these for our children. I had someone finish them for me. Golden Holly Christmas wool gather
Yr stitching is Golden! Those stockings are just fabulous! We are “ older” so for grands we just do gift cards & money to the kids. Merry Christmas & Happy 2024!
I am a rather last minute shopper, and more recently online than stores. My sons are older now and really don’t mind cash, which is easy for me 😂 I tend to panic that I have not gotten enough for everyone and buy more at the end lol. Praying rich blessings for a golden 2024 for you and your stitching and crafting projects next year!
WOW, the stockings are absolutely precious 💞, thanks for sharing!! I have everything bought, not wrapped... 5 pillow cases to sew - 4 stitched ornaments left to FFO - binding left to do on 3 table runners. I'm off work this week, thank goodness 😅 Thank you for sharing the Elk photos too!! 2024
Christmas, Wool! I love to see all you are stitching. Your samplers are so detailed. I really hope Alma reprints those beautiful Blackbird designs! My kids and grandkids have all moved out of state. It made me get my shopping done early so I could get everything mailed. Merry Christmas! 🎄
Before COVID, I was on top of shopping. I would shop through the whole year. We’re under going a remodel in our kitchen and it is taking all my energy. Golden Christmas wool would be great for me to stitch for my mom for next year! ❤ seeing your finishes and can’t wait for WIP parade and plans.
I try so hard to finish my Christmas shopping several weeks before Christmas so that I can just enjoy the holiday…but it always seems like there’s always one more thing to do! 😜. 2024. Love listening and watching while I sit and get a few stitches in…Have a Wonderful Christmas!
First timer here. You are so fun to watch and, of course, I have added more patterns to my long list of “wanna dos”. The stockings you did are beautiful! I, too have one that I haven’t put together. It’s because I have no one to give it to so it sits on the back burner. Have a Merry Christmas!
My final Amazon order will go in tomorrow. I used to be started in June and done shopping for Christmas some time in October but the kids are young adults now with tiny apartments so I can’t give them what they don’t need and they aren’t giving me their list very early. Those stockings…I made several and gave them away. So much work in each one! Blessings to you for Christmas and 2024.
Love ‘Redware’, as well as your other finishes! I’m on the lookout for Christmas gifts all year round, but usually finish everything up during November/December. For a golden 2024, we don’t gather wool, but have just enjoyed a Holly, Jolly Christmas.
I loved catching up with you again today Lisa! Stunning finish on Redware and I loved seeing the beautiful stockings! Would love to stitch golden delicious. I’m definitely like you and mostly do online shopping, it is such a blessing to avoid the holiday crowds 😅
You are ‘Golden’. I sure enjoy your videos. Thank you for them. I would love to stitch golden as my grandfather had an apple orchard in Washington and grew gold delicious apples back in the day! Kris
Good to see you on your blog. I Love wool and flax in more than one way. We don’t give gifts in the traditional way we put money in an educational account for our grandkids.
Merry Christmas! I don’t like crowds and driving in the snow so I start my Christmas shopping early or when I see the exact gift I think a person on my list would enjoy and I buy it no matter what month it is. Works for me. Golden, wool, gather.
It has been a super busy December between teaching middle school and the arrival of our third grand child....still have so much to do. I am interested in Golden and Wool. Thanks so much.
Merry Christmas: Congratulations on finishing Redware, oh how I dislike ripping out so sorry you had to. Way back when the magazine came out, I did the Santas Woodshop for my husband, all your stockings are beautiful, love that your husband played football and the clarinet at the same game. Thank-you for sharing about the Little Brown House Gazette newsletter. Golden, Holly, Christmas, wool, Gather, 2024, we do not exchange gifts we play the dice game with wrapped gifts the open and steal from each other with the dice, it so much fun there are 30 of us.
I am looking forward to Christmas 2024....All shopping is done, gift cards and $$ money rule the roost in my household. Your finish of redware is stunning.
Amazing seeing the elk, thank you. All those Christmas stockings! Jingle Ball at Acorns and Threads sounds like so much fun. Merry Christmas 🎄 golden, 2024 My family gave up gift exchanging years ago, we just enjoy each other's company.
I've got 5 unfinished felt Christmas stocking that you've inspired me to get out. Love your projects thanks for sharing with me. I'm a new stitcher long time quilter. Golden, holly, wool, gather. Thank you!
I did that fireplace stocking for one of my sons back in the early 80's and I still haven't finished it yet, and he is 45 years old! All of your stockings turned out beautifully. I will have to see if I can figure out where I put the one for my son. I sure do love the Holly and the Ivy sampler. It was nice to catch up with you.
Our Christmas is very small this year. Son & family live in Maui and daughter & family live in Colorado. We decided that travel over the holidays is too hectic, so I Amazon'd gifts to them. Husband and I just buy whatever we want all year long, so we are done. Golden
I am yet to try a patchwork quilt with wool applique - but I'm sure I'd enjoy it! You have inspired me with your pattern! I've got all the important shopping done, just a few bits and pieces to get.
thoroughly enjoyed this video; I have all those stocking patterns because I own those magazines; congrats to you for actually stitching them and using them...Awesome! Love your pictures at the end. 'golden' thank you...
I have not been in the right mind set this year, so Christmas shopping has not begun. My husband keeps telling me we need to get on it. We ship gifts to our kids out of state. I would love to try Roxy floss, so golden.
Happy Holidays! Thanks for sharing, 100% done shopping, and I pick up items for Christmas as I find them throughout the year. Its like hitting the golden jackpot!
Golden, christmas, love your blogs. 15 month old grandsons gifts all bought about 2 months ago. Last weekend did most of the rest or definitely know what I am getting. Found temu app and got hooked. All so inexpensive and free shipping. Happy stitching.😊❤🇦🇺🌈
I generally start my Christmas shopping the first of December. I am 80% finished shopping, but I still need to wrap gifts. Golden wool is lovely. Most of our gifts are purchased from Amazon. Merry Christmas! I’m looking forward to your WIP Parade.
For our golden annuversary in 2024, there are plans to purchase a few patterns that have been on my wish list for years. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a joyous New Year!
I definitely use Amazon a lot and I'm usually shopping up until Christmas & wrapping madly to get everything done Christmas eve. But this year, I am determined to be done sooner & to relax and enjoy my Christmas more. To that end, I think I am almost done shopping. Only 2 presents left to get. And then get everything wrapped by the end of next week. That's my plan! I want to have a relaxing golden Christmas and be able to welcome 2024 with peace & joy.
My plan for 2024 is to do wool embroidery whilst enjoying more apples like Golden Delicious. I have done half my Christmas shopping which was knitting for my great neices & nephews. I only have a few small things which I plan to buy locally. I will make some baked goods to gift, with home made decors. Trying a slow Christmas this year with reduced commercialise!!!
Thank you Lisa for another wonderful video! I love everything you share with us. My Christmas shopping is done, but wrapping is not, I usually put it off until about a week before Christmas. Your stockings are amazing, what a treasure. Golden
Being I am in my golden years now. I think for our 2024 Christmas this year, that we will all gather at my house to celebrate. I am working on finishing up on some stitching for Christmas presents and am not done with the shopping yet. Christmas has snuck up on us this year.
We don't do much on gift giving. I'm doing a secret Santa at work and having fun with finding some different small gifts. A lot came from small businesses. I love all your wips and finishes and always get so much inspiration. Golden mini hugs, Jennifer
Redware is fantastic! As for Christmas shopping, I'm usually done by Thanksgiving and consider myself golden. However this year is a different story. There a few left on my shopping to do list.
Thanks for the inspiration. I really like shopping less and less so mostly give money. Maybe we'll draw names next year to simplify. I make a great apple crisp with golden delicious apples.
I always try to have all of my shopping done by Thanksgiving and I did this year. I may pick up a little thing or two after, but the bulk of my shopping is done. I would love some golden wool for Christmas. Have a wonderful holiday.
Hi Lisa. Great video again. Your redware piece is beautiful! Your stockings are amazing! I am still finishing my shopping. Amazon is such a time saver!! Would love to stitch Gather. Take care! Have a Happy Holiday season.
I don't have a large family, so I am finished with my Christmas shopping. The Little Green Bean kit is so cute. I would like to see the Anything but Ugly Christmas Sweater Garland when you complete it. Too bad the kit is not sold anymore, but at least v the pattern is still available. Golden wool 2024
I am done Christmas shopping since I do most of it online. We live in a really rural area and I deal with chronic illness, so Amazon and Etsy are a huge help! I also didn't end up filling out my Book of Days, so I am going to try a journal for next year. A journal with one entry per project works for me in knitting, so we shall see if it works for stitching. I am also a spinner and need to start a journal for that as well. I've never spun golden wool yet though.😊
Thanks for another fabulous and inspiring video! I would love to stitch golden, wool, or gather! I havent ever used the Book of Days and would love to try it in 2024. I used Amazon for 90% of my shopping!❤
Hi Lisa, thanks for sharing your Christmas stockings - they are amazingly gorgeous! I've worked out my 2024 stitching plans and they can be seen on flosstube. As far as my shopping - I am so far behind.... In the past, I would start in October. This October was tragic for our family and we're struggling getting through the holidays. Have a very Merry Christmas! Lori
I have about half of my gifts bought or made. I will (hopefully ) finish the rest this week ....Fingers crossed! In 2024 I plan to gather much golden wool 🤓
No last minute shopping for me. Usually done by the end of September. My tree is laden with golden ornaments. And plenty of other colors. Merry Christmas!
I was a model stitcher for Jeremiah Junction aka Cross Country Stitching. I had just found my "Redware" a couple of weeks ago...I still have one plate to finish. I cannot tell you how long ago...as in years ago, I started this. I am on a quest to finish all the stitchings that are just stitches away from being done. I do these in between the By Annie bags I've been making. AND, then I started acquiring the parts, pieces and patterns to make Poppin Bags. More and more I seem to add to my list.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful stitching and your haul. My Christmas shopping is done. Thank heavens. I do shop some with Amazon and also make a lot of Christmas gifts. So I’m not an early shopper by any means. Mostly, because my family can’t decide on what they want. Gather golden wool
Hope you have a holly jolly Christmas with a golden year in 2024. I will be hosting Christmas and having my 2 grown sons and their wives and my 3 granddaughters. At 72 we have stopped a traditional meal on Christmas. The host picks the meal so I am having a taco bar and a big pot of pintos and a big pot of Rotel with taco meat and homemade salsa and all the trimmings. We do traditional turkey and dressing for Thanksgiving. Hope everyone has a blessed Christmas!
Happy holidays. Golden, wool, 2024. I am 98% done with my shopping, one more secret Santa gift to get. I do shop Amazon but I also do local craft shows and I make a lot of my gifts.
Just celebrated my 84 Birthday, so shopping is no longer fun, very tiring. I generally have enjoyed making my gifts for family, friends, neighbors in the past and still do so. Some family receive Money. Many know what they would like to buy. This time of year is Golden in color and I love wool, Gather and 2024. Enjoy the season .
Golden Holly Christmas Wool Gather 2024 Tomorrow I'm going shopping to finish up the Christmas shopping. I do a lot of it on Amazon but not all. Merry Christmas to you and yours!!!
Lisa, I just came across your channel today and I love it. I too am stitching Golden Delicious and a new Artsy Housewife fan. Well it’s past CHRISTMAS and here in Wisconsin we have barely worn any WOOL. Maybe temps will drop and snow will fall in 2024. --Karen 🎄KayC621
Interested in golden and holly. :-) No, not done with the shopping. Yep, Amazon has gotten a lot of my money this year, but I have a few more gifts to buy and those will be local. Have tried not to get too stressed about it this year. :-)
Golden. Holly. Christmas. Wool. Gather. I’m a monogamous stitcher, so I would have the most boring Book of Days ever! LOL. I try to have my Christmas shopping done by the end of November, but family wasn’t very cooperative this year 😅. Have a great Christmas! BTW Can’t believe how many of the BH&G stockings you have done! Great job!
