Hi Mary Rose. I am so thankful that you are back on FlossTube. I was so disappointed when you were no longer sharing your beautiful stitching and life musings. I'm a traditionalist, so I agree with you on them. Your tribute to the Queen and the history of her ascension and reign were wonderful. I live in the states, but I have been an anglophile for most of my 51 years (my family have yet to understand it). Please keep stitching and sharing. You are loved and respected by so many!

🦋 Thankyou so much Lorie! The start of my video #106 “Life is Full of Surprises” will explain the reasons for my return! I am very much a fan of the system of Constitutional Monarchy. So good to see you again Mary Rose. Your cross stitch pieces are beautiful as usual. Loved your tribute to the queen and the history behind her coronation. We had planned a trip for months to go to England, staying in Windsor never thinking the queen would pass a few days before we left. When we were in London we got to see firsthand the huge line of mourners waiting to pay their respects. In Windsor, it was so interesting to see the reaction of the people to the queen. Pictures of her and tributes were everywhere. We went to the castle twice to see all the flowers at the gates and inside the castle property. So many people on the long walk and in the town. The day before her funeral, Windsor was closed off to vehicles so there was a steady stream of people getting off the trains. There was security everywhere including armed police on top of buildings. We walked to the castle a few hours after the procession was finished and there were media tents everywhere. It was amazing to see how the people loved her. What an amazing experience to witness, something we won’t forget.

🦋 Hi Diane, what momentous times you witnessed. The queen was symbolic of so much that is near and dear to the British nation. That the people reacted to her passing in such a way is evidence of that. Thankyou very much for sharing, be Blessed and Happy Stitching xx:):)🌹

🦋 Thankyou Judith. Harlequin IS a dear. In a world where decency and previously accepted levels of behaviour have been cast aside, it is very difficult to convey to a young person what it is to be mourning someone with integrity, selflessness and a deep sense of duty. Queen Elizabeth represented an era of decent and accepted standards that have been systematically trashed. I am sticking to my stitching and keeping my head down! Blessings sent. xx:):)🌹

🦋 Yes indeed a truly great and selfless Queen, most ably supported by an equally dutiful Prince Philip who was her rock and had such a great Goonish sense of humour which he passed on to Prince Charles. Congratulations on your FO and FFO! Gorgeous stitching and framing on Across the Divide, what beautiful stitches of love. Your Rise Above is wonderful too! Looking forward to seeing your progress on fancy boots. I also have those magnetic ties and find them so useful. For stitching-- managing fabric as you intend but also as needleminders and holding paper charts on my wip as I'm stitching. Try sliding them apart rather than pulling as the magnets are very strong. Enjoyed your tribute to the late queen. What a life she had, maybe not the life she wanted or would have chosen but she lived up to all the duties and expectations of her position. The televised coverage of all the ceremonial protocol was incredible and I felt for the royal family as they had to be on duty and hide their grief for private moments. Her legacy of dignity and restraint is something we can all learn from. Take care and thanks for sharing.

So glad you posted a video. Love the FFO of Across the Divide & you did some speed work to finish the Rise Above. Love those full coverage pieces. Like you, I put extra threads in a bad & label. I, too, like to stitch, not spend all my time organizing. The night before I woke up to the passing of the Queen I had a dream: It was Prince Charles talking to Prince William & saying "get prepared, Mommie will out live me & you better be able to step up to the plate". Then I woke up & they were saying "King Charles the 2nd" & I thought what? WHAT? My sister lives in Australia & we spent a lot of time talking about her life & duty to service. So sorry she was gone, but she is a woman we can all look up to. Take care, dear Mary Rose. Can't wait for your next stitching project.

🦋 Hi Beverley. I have a rectangular metal sheet that I put my chart on, which sits on top of a trolley table with a sloping top so that it sits at an angle like a music stand. I hold my chart down with magnets. I cut up the magnetic press on calendar type strips from advertisers and use them like rulers to mark where I am on my chart which sits to my left. I don’t know why it is in that position because it means I have to look over to the left to see the chart, but it just ended up that way.
