Flosstube #12: Chatelaine Stash Show-and-Tell, Anyone? And An Update On My WIPs. 

I fell down the Chatelaine and full coverage rabbit holes about the same time many years ago. I now have many finishes and WIPs of both. Love seeing someone getting excited about them.

Great Chatelaine stash. I have just 2. Of course Stephanie at Lindy Stitches very much enabled me in the Mushroom & Fern Mandala. The other one was on a sale at my LNS for a really low price and I snagged it. I haven’t stated any yet. I’m going to check out European Cross Stitch. Happy stitching 🧵🪡

Hi there! So enjoyed this video. I agree that often when you hold up a wip on video, it looks so good!! Full coverage is totally addicting. I don't count either bc it takes up stitching time lol! Although whenever I look at PK count I always think, "is that it?!" 🤣

i just found your channel and am binge watching. you make amazing amazing videos. i'm obseesed with full coverage but i'm starting to grasp the fact that i will not be able to stitch all of them without something changing, so about half of the patterns, ive removed the background and dyed the fabric to be the replica of the background. some pieces i've halved the stitch count. you have some stunning fabric, might be something you'd be interested in doing as well! oh and if you're not already watching Needlecraft_Dani, she has a decent amount of progress on some Golden Kites :)😀

Love your recent videos. Have had my chatelaine for about 3 years and after watching decided to get mine out but still trying to understand some of the instructions!

I also prefer paper copies. Even my HAED most I'm stitching from paper. BUT I bought 2 Chatelaine charts and I got them in black and white. When I emailed them I was told to buy them again but in PDF. So I only bought 1 it was a wierd situation. I looked at the paper copy and honestly couldnt make anything out! 🤣. But devices are fairly new to device stitching so it obviously has been done. I bought my Chatelaine kit almost 2 years ago haven't started it!

I just found you! And so glad that I did! I am also a chatelaine lover and I am currently stitching mushroom and fern! I have evening in the park all stages to be my next one! Loved watching! Too much to say to say it here lol

Good morning Amy thank you another lovely video to keep me company as I get in my morning stitching before I go to work. Love the TW Ship pattern I had never seen that one. I use a lowery stand with my q-snaps so I can poke and stab two handed and that has sped me up a bit. I used to do the sewing method only and have gone back to it for a small piece I have been working as I don’t have a small enough frame. What stand do you use for your scroll bars? I ask as I am trying to find something that will hold them all the shorter ones and the big monsters I have for a couple of BAPs

Your stitching is amazing and I am glad you buy some already done. I do that also but I have never found large ones like you have.

Is European cross stitch the best place to get a kit? I live in NZ and postage is horrific here. Oh you have just said they are less expensive

I prefer paper charts too. The problem I'm currently having with Holland Springtime is that the backstitching lines in the black and white print that I bought are of course, all just grey lines that are indistinguishable. And I'm not finding the answer in the directions.

I always feel like I am learning and validation for my thoughts when I watch you. 🌻🌻🌻

I’m right there with you on so many points. If I put fabric on a qsnap and get even half a cross on it, it’s started 😂 also, yes yes yes to the point of which haed to stitch vs which one to just buy a print of. For me personally, there isn’t a single piece on that site I would stitch. If it’s a photo I like enough to display it, I’ll just get a print. I’m not going to spend years stitching something like that.

I totally agree with you about the HAED-types of full coverage. I don’t care for most of the pixelated full-coverage I see, vs. the Dimensions type. I have one Artecy I would like to do, but only because someone posted their finish. Also, it is an animal and I think sometimes those wildlife ones turn out a bit better.

I loved stichinmommys full coverage technic!! I was the same about the Haeds ! I watched people stitch them and be annoyed about colour changes halfway through and the computer generated picture being totally different from their stitching especially organic things like leaves losing shape. Also the amount of colours needed put me off. But wow stitchingmommy ones are beautiful. Your Chatelaines are gorgeous and so is your stitching of course!

Damask Roses is looking SO pretty and I love the fabric you have her on. I’m with you re: full coverage. I don’t see them being my thing but I enjoy watching others do them! 😂 You picked a really pretty one! So I have Poison Garden on my ginormous Omanik frame and haven’t touched it in FOREVER. The most stitching I’ve done on a Chatelaine is when I stick it in my 11x11 qsnap. 😂 Not sure what I’ll do when it gets too big but I’ll figure it out. 😂

I got a pattern off golden kite and pattern keeper wont see it...maybe the password...how did you get it to appear to open???

You might try silks 4 you for a white white or Hand Dyed Fibers by Vickie has a great white silk and she ships super fast!

Many of my stitchy friends recommended to buy all the floss for a full coverage, because it might be years until you finish and the shade of dmc might change 🙏🏽 I can send you a chart that tells you how many stitches per skein on each fabric. Let Me know 🌸
