That passion you feel is what keeps us alive. We all need something in our lives that makes us want to do all the things! Makes life worth living and knowing there are others out there that feel the same make it all worth it. Thanks again for all sharing your passion with us.

Your project bag looks great! If you did not point them out no one would see the "mistakes." You are too modest - you are such a talented stitcher and finisher! I am inspired every time I watch you. Thank you for taking the time to film! I love to have coffee with my sweet friend Silvia!

Silvia, It's always so much fun to visit with you! I enjoy every minute. Your Frances Poole piece is looking gorgeous, and your "smalls" are just beautiful. I hope to stitch the Needleworker chart soon too, it's so pretty. Can't wait to see your Bluebird of Happiness. Thanks for another great video.

Good joke with the 360 WIPs! I thought, Wow, you've been busy! Your project bags are wonderful and the baby project bag is so cute. So funny you said Dry Heat! I'm in Arizona and that's what we have here, a dry heat. I have 31 WIPs myself. I FFO also and I like thick chenille. I have a little tip to fluff up skinny chenille: take your chenille and get it a little wet, not dripping wet and run it through your fingernails, the whole length, and go back and forth. Then I hang it somewhere to dry. Go back again and again to run the chenille through your fingernails. I like Dames of the Needle chenille myself because it's thick. You have great stash. I started out doing a lot of LizzieKate and small designs, and now stitch samplers, medium size and two large ones that are WIPs. Change is good! Take care, Silvia!
@beckisland3751
@beckisland3751 7 лет назад
Hi Shelly, I so very much loved the "dry heat" - miss that a lot :) Wow, 31 WiP's - can't imagine how to handle that - I juggle two and one small - that's more than enough for me - lol :o) Oh, and thank you for your chenille-tip - I certainly will try that! Hope to see you soon, have a wonderful week ... : )

Sylvia, You are an inspiration and I love to visit with you via Flosstube.Your stitching and finishes are beautiful, and now your project bags...adorable!! I am not a new stitcher but have not done any sewing finishes.As you say, I will have to be brave and try something new. (I am not a sewer.)We had the privilege of visiting your Bavaria last summer for a friend's wedding & hope to return someday to see more of your beautiful country.And....I also love the boom "A Woman of Substance! !"One of my favorites! Thank you for your sweet videos, Kathy G.

Oh Sylvia, I just love you. Your so kind and I love your kind of silliness and crazy. So much fun to watch. I had a good laugh at the magnet, saw many that made fun of heat, so cute. All your wips and charts will be so much fun. When you get your household back together you'll feel like stitching, I'm sure of it. You did very good on project bags, the big red snap interested me ill have to look for something like that. I'm always thinking how we use so many items the same, yoyo's for instance. Lovely work as always. I watched the give away and video before that, always look forward e seeing you. Hugs Lana

Silvia, you are delightful! We have seen you grow so much and become so adventureous. Your project bags are wonderful. I like the snap closure better than velcro and the yo yo button trim is so cute. I recently purchased the Little House Needleworks pattern "Needleworker" and I'm looking forward to starting it soon. Your "Frances Poole Sampler" is gorgeous. You should have a finish soon. Looking forward to watching your next video. Happy Stitching! -Kathy

I so love your beautiful project bags; great finish, and beautiful fabric! The little companion bag is so precious; how fun that you made one for your mother - I bet that she shows it off when she is gathered with the other residents! I love it that you had such fun making your project changes and also the bags. It is so much fun to know that there are others out there who are as devoted to needlework - I would be lost without it. Enjoy some more "good crazy". LOL P.S. I miss seeing your candle lit up that sits behind you on your sewing machine. There is something very calming about having it burning. Your project bags are almost as adorable as you are. As always I love your projects and love spending time with you!!! Funny joke about having 396 wips. For a split second I thought you were serious and almost fell out of my chair! When I have a large project I sometimes use 17 inch length Qsnap for top and bottom and 8 inch for the sides. I can't remember who's video I was watching that I learned that from but it worked!!

When you use lavender in your cushions, do you stuff the entire cushion with it or just put some in along with the fiberfill?
@beckisland3751

Usually I stuff my lavender cushions completely with lavender, but I also put in a little bit of crushed walnut shells. It's for rubbing the lavender a little :) Thanks for your visit - hope you'll come back again :) Happy stitching, ..... Silvia :)

Hi Sylvia! I love your videos. This one was especially sweet to see how happy you are and realizing all the ways your stitching experience has changed and broadened. Your stitching envelopes are beautiful! I like the yo-yo's and felt hearts you added. You took Vonna's idea and customized and now we have a Sylvia style bag to inspire us. I also loved how you went back to a couple of your pillow finishes and made just a small change and wow how a little extra touch makes a difference. Sylvia I always love your videos! You might be disappointed in me because my rotation got sidetracked...I started And Heaven and Nature Sing and I'm enjoying it so much that I'm stitching more than three days. Maybe I'm doubling that and doing six days. :). I do like the addition of the bows and buttons on your small pillows. I couldn't see any mistakes on your project bags at all. I think they look wonderful. I've made lots of those for gifts. My friends and family love them and use them for all kinds of things....they are perfect for holding an IPad, for a Bible holder, or even to put your undergarments in when you're traveling. They even will hold a couple of tee shirts. They keep things nicely packed in my suitcase. I love your newest patterns and especially the French designer. I wonder if we can get those here. Best wishes on your construction. We painted my husbands bathroom last week and I put new towels and a new shower curtain in there. This week we are painting the cabinets and door in my bathroom and putting new knobs on the drawers. I hope later this week to be able to weed my tiny herb garden. It's been too windy to do that. Have a wonderful week and come back soon! Blessings, Marlene

Good Morning Silvia, I have a question for you...before you stitch your fabric to your cross stitch do you stay stitch around the edges so the cross stitch fabric doesn't fray...I hope I explained this ok...Love all of your finishes!
@beckisland3751
@beckisland3751 7 лет назад
Hi Mickey, sorry to get back to you that late! If I understand you correctly I would say "no" . Before I start stitching I do the stay stitch around all 4 edges of my linen - but when I sew linen and fabric together there is no need to do a stay stitch - I think. I'll try to remember that in my next video - maybe I can explain it a little bit better :) Thanks for your visit, have a wonderful week .....

I giggle and laugh with you so much that my husband had to come and check out if I was on the phone talking or watching Flosstube. Love the work your doing on the Frances Poole. I may have to order that one. I also think it's wonderful that Vonna won one of your smalls. I know you mention her often and enjoy her tutorials and videos so what a nice way to say Thank You to her. I just bought fabric to make my first Project Envelope. Love that you used snaps instead of Velcro, that makes it your own special creation. And yes, don't we get excited when we learn or tackle a new project. You are such a joy to watch and listen to. If you're crazy then it's a good kind of crazy. LOL. You've made so many changes just in the short time you've been making videos. I think the project bags are lovely. Now you have another skill, one more to add to a list of newby things you've learned to do. I don't blame you for not being able to stitch when you're having construction done in your house. Who can focus on anything when everything is chaos? We had our kitchen completely gutted and all new cabinets, floors, counters, appliance put in. The place was torn up for a month. I nearly did not survive that mess, but now am happy to have it all like new. Can't wait for another video from you. You always make me smile. Hugs & Best Stitches.

Yes, this time it is different - we moved so many times and I always had everything under controll (well almost:) But this time we're switching out furniture and rearranging rooms - everything is taken out of the cabinet and lying around in the house - that drives me crazy - but I will survive this and then I'll be happy with my new room ( Spoiler alert :) 'til we meet again, have a wonderful week, Silvia

I think that watching Floss Tube can be overwhelming. I'm really a one at a time stitcher but I've ended up with lots of WIPs and sometimes the thought of choosing one from all of them just stops me. I am better about things now but there are days when my health is bad and doing nothing is my way of coping. I love your videos Silvia, please continue to make them. Perhaps you could show us some of your finishing techniques? And you have definitely influenced me - I've bought some small patterns and I'm looking forward to stitching them and trying to finish them although I'm not as neat as you are so it means a big learning curve. I've told my husband about the coast near you and he agreed it might be an interesting trip next year! How exciting is that?? Hope the house organising goes well. Don't overdo things 😊🌷🌼💕

Hi Sara! Thank you so very much! I am trying to do a rotation but right now I'm not sure how it will work for me - maybe I have to go back to "one at a time" :) And I am happy that I could inspire you a little to make smalls - it is so much fun and I'm sure you are doing just fine! Oh, and I think a trip to the BalticSea Coast would be really great, but how exciting would it be if we could meet in person - wouldn't that be awesome :) Thanks again for your visit and your lovely comment, 'til we meet again, happy stitching .... Silvia :)

You are a wonderful teacher, Silvia. I learn so many new things with each of your videos. You offer so many wonderful ideas, like covering the paint canvas with fabric and the linen band. I had a small cross-stitch piece on 14-count Aida and pressed down the top and bottom over a piece of poster board - yeah, not acid-free, but this was an experiment:-) It needed something to stabilize it. When I make another one, I might try mat board blanks, which Vonna, uses for her flat-folds or perhaps some heat and bond to fuse the top and bottom edges back. You and so many other floss tubers inspire stitchers to try new things and strive for excellence. Thanks for sharing. Oh, that French pattern you showed is available at a site called The French Needle, for $38: www.frenchneedle.com/collections/les-brodeuses-parisiennes-cross-stitch?page=1

So I'm very happy that I can pass on a little bit of what I know and inspire other stitchers :o) I'm so glad you like it !!! Btw, thank you for the website - I've already passed it on :) Have a wonderful weekend, take care, Silvia

I love watching your videos. Your silliness is infectious. I always feel cheerful and happy watching you. Your small cushions are incredibly beautiful. I want to try to make some but don't know how successful I'll be. I will try.

Thank you so very much for your visit and your kind comment! I am so happy that you enjoyed your visit! I know it can be a little bit scary to try out something new, but I had so much fun with the project bags - even with the first one with all it's mistakes. It's the learning-process - my next one turned out better because I was able to avoid the mistakes from my first one (I've made another mistake instead - lol :) So, I'm sure you can do that too - give it a try! Even the attempt is a success ! Have a wonderful week ....

Love your project bags! The snap is a great idea. I bought my fabric to try making one and I will add a snap. On the squirrel maybe it's an acorn. Thanks for the great visit you make me smile every time! It is great sharing our passion and excitement over stitching with people who understand!

Thank you so very much! I am so happy that you liked my little addition to the project bags :) It really was fun to experiment with all those little embellishments :) But I'm not sure about the acorn - the squirrel is holding one in his hand (in a different color) - maybe I'll never figure that out - LOL :) Have a wonderful week, happy stitching ....

You are such a delight to watch! I love all your stitching projects and finishes. You always pick the perfect fabric and trims for each one. You did awesome on your project bags, I know Vonna will be so proud! Your fabrics are beautiful and what a clever idea to put the hearts inside for your needles. I might have to copy that idea. I want to thank you for your videos, you are so cute and cheerful and I wish I could talk back to you but I don't do videos. I'm sending you a big hug back!

Silvia, I just wanted to say how much I thoroughly enjoy watching your flosstube videos! You are so calm and cheerful! Love that you are willing to get out of your zone and do something different and share with us! You did an amazing job on the project bag!!! Love the yoyo embellishment! I haven't started recording videos yet as I am a long lost stitcher (I stitched many years ago and somehow moved on to other things only after 18+ years returning to stitching and thoroughly enjoying it.) Thank you for sharing all of your pillows etc, so fun and inspiring.

Silvia ~ I believe we stitchers in Flosstube are kindred spirits, and that is why we understand each other so well. I am sending you an invisible bluebird of happiness to your house. The project bags look great. Beautiful pieces you have Sylvia. the hearts at the end are just gorgeous. did you use a sewing maching for that? Or by hand. In your next video can you describe or show how you did the hearts. I am not good a doing hearts, so I need your help Sylvia. Happy stitching.

@beckisland3751 7 лет назад
Hi Ciny, I'm sorry to get back to you this late! As for the hearts - basically I do the same sewing as my little cushions - except for the round tops. There I'll try to move very careful and slow with my sewing machine. And as in everything - the secret lies in practice, practice, practice : ) You can do that!!!! I hope that help you a little - if not let me know and I will try to show it (somehow) in a video :) Have a wonderful week, Silvia
