Thank you so much for the lovely comments. You have so many amazing wow pieces, I too love Genevieve 😍. I have also decided to join the 2x2 sal......will be a little late need some fabric for this, very much enabled and looking forward to another new wip 😊. Happy stitching, Karla
Thank you so much for the shout out. Cross stitching is therapy for me. As I’m sure it is for many people. I love all your projects. You are a constant inspiration to me. I love watching your flosstube. Thanks again
Amazing video as always❤ im so glad youre feeling better. These illness are soooo intense lately. Love all the new starts. Im here for allllll the new starts love it❤❤❤ i agree with Ariane doing a flosstube! 🎉
Sorry to hear you've been so ill, hopefully now on the mend. Thank you for the video, I had a lot of fun seeing everything. You should definitely start the stained glass window! Have fun stitching, Diane 😘
I want to buy Full Moon and the Snowhare. But, I have enough to stitch that I want to hang on my walls to last 3 lifetimes. You are a great enabler. Sigh.
oh your such an enabler too ! I love the idea of WOW I have a few women started already but I love the artwork from Janelle Nichols and put a couple of hers on my wishlist ! keep well Elisa, I have asthma, and covid really shook me up 2 years ago, finally on the right track to fitness ! loved your catch up and ramblings you make me smile every time 💜💜💜
I’m so glad you’re feeling better! I love that you picked up an old WIP, and it’s such a pretty one! You know how you watch all those other people you listed who “inspire” you to buy more patterns and start more things? Well I hate to break it to you but you’re one of those people too, LOL!! Everything you show I’m like, “Gotta get it… already got it… need to start it… yay, new SAL!…” I can’t even list how many patterns I’ve bought or projects I’ve started after watching your videos! Keep it coming!! 😂💕
I would leave the two stranded backstitching as is. Going forward, go to the one strand. You may not have noticed the two stranded petals are in the foreground. Well done. Without knowing, you just 3-d your project. Looks absolutely stunning.
I don't know who is really the enabler 😉. You are a big enabler for me 😮. Great progress and beautiful new charts. And impossible to breathe that sounds so scary. Have a good weekend
Wow, never realized I never got to finish watching this video! So glad I found out! I know we’ve talked about stuff that was going on, but I sure wish I had seen this earlier. I hope everything is so much better now! And I really think you are the big enabler here😂
Hope you feel better soon! Beautiful patterns 🥰 not good for us 😅. Butterfly effect is so much fun to stitch, I've stitch the regular one and she is now hanging in the livingroom. Happy stitching and take care Elisa! ❤
Good to see you! I did mention you in my last Flosstube when I showed A Kiss for Snowman ☃️ and I did hear a shout out for you as the queen of SALs I think by the budget stitcher 😄 I’m so glad you’re doing better ❤
Love this update, you’re such an upbeat lady! Sorry you’ve had some sort of family crisis 😔 Im glad you’ve had a diagnosis now you will be able to keep it under control with inhalers. You talk about being enabled? Well lady, you do your fair share of that too 😂, just as well I have self control when it comes to stitching, well a good bit anyway, always room for slipping something in quietly 😉 Have a great weekend, and I’m looking forward to your next video ..take care x
That one girl (I think her name is Evergreen?) always reminds me of one of the characters from Downton Abbey. I love those stained glass pieces, I bet they would be very soothing to stitch. Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. Hopefully the new doctors and meds will turn things around!
I did it, I've watched all your videos. They were great.(This is going to be long) I love watching your progress. Your Birds and Blooms is amazing. I have the Peacock Flower pattern as well, and I understand what you said about it, I haven't started it yet because I have Queen of Hearts, and it's huge with a ton of background before I get to the fun part. I've had people ask me about stitch along videos and I agree with you, I've never watched one, I'm boring, and I know people would be horifided by my technique. I would love to see how you dye your fabric, I basically through everything into a jar and hope it turns out. Beading isn't that difficult, just be careful opening the package.😊 I use thread similar in colour to the bead, I don't like the clear thread. I make a full cross going through the bead on each leg of the stitch. I look forward to your next video, now that I'm caught up
So good to see you Elise. Love your new starts❤️. Your wips look amazing as always. I’m curious now as to how many wips you have? At some point we will have to do one together 🤣❤️. I hope you have an amazing couple of weeks, stay safe and happy stitching always sweet friend❤️
Hi Elisa. A bit of a late respons..... Always good to see you en listen to you. I think i said it before but you always make me smile. The girl on the swing is so sweet; on paper it looks much bigger but it is a sweet little project. Famous last words: this might be a short video, hihi. The backstitching on your 30 year old project is fine! Yes, those stained glass charts are beautiful. I have an Alice in Wonderland stained glass chart; so if you ever start one you know where to find me🙂. By the way, the sound is much better when you make a video with you phone. I am so sorry to hear you were so sick, i can't imagen how scary that was. Yes, friends are sometimes closer than family. See you next time! Alice
Heehee I'm stitching Genevive as well. She's so gorgeous! I'm sorry to hear of your family struggles, lots of love and hugs to you 🫂 I had lots more to say, but with no sleep, I can't remember any of it now 🙄😅
I am a little behind on watching your videos, but as always, I enjoy them soo much! And now you have me interested in starting my own Wall of Women, which is something I never thought I would be interested in. Not that I would ever finish any of them, but they would still be fun to start. 🙂 So now I am off to see what needs buying, and thank you so much for enabling lol.
Dagnabbit! You’re tempting me to start too many wonderful patterns! LOL I’ve got so many ContemporaryCross patterns in my cart, but I can’t decide on just a reasonable number of them. You’ve got my head spinning again with ideas! It would be so cool to have a project where parts were stitched, and parts were sort of painted or stamped on the fabric. You could get so much depth with that - and so much potential with a “fancy lady” like a Mirabilia, although I’d be terrified I’d mess it up….I’m so sorry you were that sick - gosh, no ones wants to ever hear “there’s something wrong with your lungs.” Yikes! Oh, yes - I’ve only beaded once, but those sticky mats really help. The hilarious part is when you try to get a bead off the mat and it pings across the room. But yes, with the little mats, you can bead anywhere. I think it was Helen D who did a really good beading tutorial and used a little metal tin to hold all her beading stuff, including a small piece cut off the mat you showed. (Sorry, do I win the prize for longest comment? Ha!)
Well then, my job is done. 😂 always happy to enable someone. Woot woot! 🎉🎉🎉 thank you for the recommendation to Helen D that was PERFECT! And just what I was looking for. Long comments are the best! Especially when they make me laugh. Have a good day. 🦋
I have to sit at a table/desk when I bead. I use a piece of fleece for laying my beads. If you are doing a full cross to stitch beads (which is mostly best), and if you are right-handed, stitch the opposite way you usually do.
I'm sorry you were so ill. Show scary to not be able to breathe. Dont let your husband get your sick again, your need a break for a while. You should really do a WOW and if you stamp your fabric I hope you'll show your process.
What a great floss tube! I'm sorry you've been sick. I have what you had. I also have severe chronic asthma - exacerbated by fires and wind storms of the past few years. I'm so glad you are better. Your stitching is gorgeous, as always. I am just curious. What is it that appeals to you about full coverage? I guess I am just to overhwelmed by it that I feel stress just looking at those gorgeous pieces. Do you find it rhythmic? Meditative? I would love to hear what you have to say. Also, I'm sending you a DM about Colorado Needleworkers. We are meeting again! Hope to see you soon!
That’s a great question, I think it may be the challenge of the finish but I also need to really like the piece. I don’t find them overwhelming at all. It’s just one X at a time. Pattern keeper helps a lot. I’ve never stitched lined or an evenweave. Those stress me out just thinking about it. 😵💫 it must just be a matter of preference. I’m you’ve also dealt with asthma. I never would have thought that this was my issue. It’s amazing how the body tries to recover in its own. Thanks for the invite this weekend. Wish I could go, but I have plans nearly every Sunday afternoon. Take care. 🌺
Hi Elisa! I've beaded before, but have just purchased my first Tacky mat too, though I haven't had a chance to use it yet. I've heard of people putting them in CD jewel cases which might fit better without having to cut it up too much. Hope you're feeling better soon. Take care. --Deb
Deb, someone suggested checking out Helen D using these mats and a small metal container. I ended up using a metal needle keeper and added the sticky mat to the bottom and a magnet on the other side of my project so it’s like a needleminder. It’s working perfect! I’ll try to remember to share on my next video. Have a good day!
@e_craftingincolorado Thanks, Elisa! That's a great idea. I'll have to try that. I haven't taken mine out of the package yet because I'm not working on anything that requires beading (although I could make the argument that EVERYTHING could use some beading)!
No, I had a hard time stitching on 22 count. My stitches would always slide under the fabric. I’m doing it on 18 plain white Aida. I’ve never done of of these before so I thought I would try it as a simple piece this time.
Hello Elisa, I am a new subscriber, and I have really enjoyed your videos. I haven't cross stitched in years, life took hold of my bum and now I have time to, finally. I just have one question, I know you grid your fabric. I was wondering if you have a video on how to do it, or if you could show how to do it in one? I'm so sorry you are going threw a hard time right now. Thoughts and prayers for you. Thank you for inspiring me to get back into cross stitching.
I can’t find the video I initially used but found this one. It’s very similar to how I grid my projects. Feel free to reach out on Instagram if you have any questions. I always use Sulky Sliver. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Nl5vZNo6K7k.html
