I would suggest you try a Q-Snap and I also use white felt pieces under the QSnap clamps. Great video!

I love your needle minder ideas and they will be so unique! To your hoop tensions issue I’ve found wrapping the inner ring with bias tape or some kind of non-silky fabric helps. The best tension is nurge plastic square hoops but I take my project out each day I’m finished because I had one project the hoop indents wouldn’t come out no matter my ironing(but I did leave it in for 6 months… oops lol).

I appreciate the hoop tips, Breanne! I'll try and get my hands on some bias tape and give that a go. 🙂 I completely understand leaving it in the hoop! Sometimes I just don't feel like taking out my project so usually leave it for at least a few days. I'm sure that as I build up WIPs, I'll probably come across one in the hoop a little too long too. ;)

The latest Ben you bought are finger towels. The one is an example of cut work embroidery. I use towels like that for display in my powder room. Great job.

I love that quaker! In regards to the coin...it may be magnetic...try and place it on the top of your cloth and a magnet on the underside and see if they stick. Good luck!

Ooh, great suggestion on the coin! I should have thought as that since my dad is always using magnets to test a coin's interior. I will give it a try! And I'm so glad you like the quaker. It has some really fun colors. 🙂

So fun! Great job on your progress : ) That little cameo and pistol would be lovely and hilarious (respectively) needle minders!

Great choice of fabric for Little Women. If you aren't happy with the tightness in the hoop, you may need to try something different like a Nurge hoop, tension hoop, or a Qsnap. You did some great thrifting. I did pretty good the last time I visited a few thrift stores here. Great finds for needle minders.

Deanne, I really appreciate those tips! I need to look into getting a Nurge hoop or a tension hoop. This is just an inexpensive one from Amazon and it's pretty, but very smooth which doesn't help ;) I did end up switching it over to my Qsnap which is working a lot better. Thanks for stopping by and great job on those thrifting finds. It's so fun!

Enjoying your flosstube as a relatively new stitcher myself. Thanks for the variegated floss tutorial recommendation. I've been wanting to try replicating that look with DMC.

Gina, It's really great to meet stitchers who are new here as it's encouraging that we are all starting out at one point or another. I'm so glad the DMC idea was a help for your upcoming project and I hope you love the effect. :)

I love your stitching and your approach to the craft -- that there is always something to learn! I am just embarking on a new project that has fractionals and other specialty stitches so I'll be on the learning curve as well. Great video!

I ordered the craft bags you recommended and they are such a great way to organize my projects. They even have a hanging option. I will figure how to store my organizers just right. Great video

So glad you love them too! I enjoy the hanging handle as well. I like to hook it onto the arm of my chair when I'm cross stitching at the soccer field. Hugs and can't wait to see your latest project in person!

I LOVE the tiny pistol and I would definitely turn the coin into a needleminder for exactly the reason you stated. It shouldn’t sit in a bag or in a drawer somewhere, you should enjoy it.

Kara, So glad you liked the pistol! And thanks for sharing your thoughts on the coin. That's what I was thinking as well so it encourages me to give it a go. 🙂

I don't cross stitch (yet) but I really want to stitch the goose!. We used to have a pair that we called Goose and Gus. I enjoyed your video very much!

Heather, So fun that this little goose has inspired you to give it a go. I think you should! Fun addition is that the goose pattern is only a few dollars and doesn't use many floss colors. 🙂

Love the colors used in Pumpkins For Sale. The little goose and mushrooms are so cute. I don't think the mushrooms are juvenile at all. Mushrooms seem to be a come back decorative thing and I don't mind. They're quite fascinating. Also a nice start on Little Women. Good to see you again!

Wendy, I've been enjoying those colors as well! And thanks for your nice words about the mushroom. I agree. It was a great first project and definitely kept me inspired. I enjoy getting to see it there in it's little frame. Working on Little Women has been fun as well. I'm nearly finished with the first March sister and eager to start the next. 🙂

I also use a hoop to stitch but I use plastic cuz I feel like they tighten better with the fabric and I can get it pretty taught. I put my project in the hoop and as I'm tightening the hoop I also pull the fabric so it gets tighter and tighter as I'm tightening the hoop. Gosh, I hope that makes sense lol. I have to have mine super taught lol. Great video again and such fun projects you are working on 👍🏼 🙌🏼

Sandy, That's helpful to know. I'll start looking for a plastic hoop to try out. I can imagine how it would be a little more grippy than the smooth wood. And LOL - your instructions made sense!😊 I'll keep practicing the techniques and hopefully make some more progress with it.
