Thank you so much for hanging out with us today! Ava has finally joined us in sharing her much anticipated sweater - what a project to be proud of! Ava has spun the wool, plied it into yarn and knitted this sweater all on her own very impressive!
I will also be sharing some items I have made as Christmas gifts this holiday season.
Towards the end I have some haul and will be sharing my favourite knitting needles and storage.

I love Ava's sweater! What a great experience for her - from gathering the wool, to washing, to dyeing, to thwarting, to knitting! Good for her!! I hope she continues with her wool creations ❤

I think you did amazing showing your knitting, and the fact that you don't watch a lot of knitting videos makes it even more impressive. Your daughter is amazing! Spinning her own yarn AND knitting herself a sweater!! I want to give that teacher a big hug for keeping the kids interested in fiver arts, it's such a great service. All of your makes are beautiful.

Oh wow, thank you so much for all the kind comments. Thank you for also tuning in and taking the time to watch and comment here as well. I could also give that Teacher a great big hug. I feel the fibre arts are somewhat of a dying breed these days, and just the fact that she can create interest in the young people to participate in these craft is amazing, I am very proud of Ava for all the work and learning she has done in making her sweater happy New Year’s, and happy stitching!

I love seeing a young person like Ava knitting. I learned how to knit at about nine or ten years old. I knitted my first sweater (jumper) at fourteen. I have knitted many projects since then. I had a break from knitting but since discovering these you tube videos I am assessing my stash and starting to knit again. Thank you for helping me find my knitting dojo! Your children are really cute. I hope you had a wonderful holiday!

@@FibersandFlossCanada I made my little niece a hooded poncho. It came out really cute. I started a little lacy dress for her. It’s called the Clara dress. I want to knit and crochet a few shawls. Lastly I would love to knit or crochet a cardigan. This is with all my cross stitch, sewing and working a full time job. It takes me a little longer to make things but it’s the process to successfully finish any projects.

Loved seeing the knit wear! I especially liked the color work on the mittens and hats. And Ava...your sweater is going to be lovely! So cool to have spun the yarn yourself and now to turn it into a garment. Continue to enjoy the holidays!

Wow Arica, I am not a knitter and am blown away by yours and Ava’s projects! I knitted a scarf way back in junior high school, but that’s about it. I’ve thought about trying it again, but it seems so complicated, all the needles and yarns. Cross stitch is so much easier, lol. But I was fascinated by this knitting episode and will happily tune in for more! May you and your family enjoy a happy and healthy new year!

Thank you for your kind comments! I encourage you to pick up a pair of needles and some yarn from hobby lobby and knit a basic scarf or dishcloth just to try it out! Happy stitching!

I don’t know how to knit but loved watching your video. Your hats and mittens that you made are beautiful. I would love to learn how to knit but right now I don’t have enough time, plus I am enjoying my cross stitch to much. I am also a quilter. I am retiring in June so maybe I can take a class. I would really like to try and knit some socks. Your daughter is doing an amazing job on her sweater. Can’t wait to see it finished. Enjoy the rest of your holiday with your family. Happy New Year to you and your family. Looking forward to next time❤

I absolutely loved seeing your knits as well as seeing your daughters start to finish process of knitting a sweater. Bravo! Fox the life of me I cannot get the hang of drop spindles but this year am determined to figure it out. Happy New Year!

Thank you for taking the time to tune in today and comment. Yes, it took me a bit too to get the hang of the drop spindle. I enjoyed it but I needed a faster way to spin a larger amount of yarn hence the wheel. But I do love the slower spinning style of the drop spindle. Happy new years and happy stitching to you! Maybe this year you can master the drop spindle!
