Hi Nicola, This was a great flosstube and I so enjoyed hearing about your the quilt show you attended. I went to the annual state show here in Maine last month and was very disciplined with my spending; which is very unusual. I have decided that I won't live long enough to use what I already have so just bought some new pins and small scissors. Enjoyed all your lovely finishes and wips; both stitching and quilting. Your fabric selections for quilting are so joyful, I can see what you love them all. Maybe a nice small plate stand would hold that snowman on wood just fine for display. Here in the states you can get them in silver, gold, and black colors...they are small and work nicely for crafty things. Looking forward to next time! HUGS
Lovely to see you and all of your beautiful projects 💖💕I’ve been on the lookout for UK patriotic patterns 🇬🇧 so have made a note of the ones you shared. How cute is Luna the Bunny 🐰❤️ Happy stitching ✂️🧵❤️
I could not agree more with you, how good would it be to be retired 😂. Even if it doesn’t give you time to do it all, I’m sure we would get more done lol. I’m new to your channel but had a great time looking at all your stitching and goodies this morning and who does like lovely cute jars and chickens. Oh wow your quilting finish is gorgeous, I dabbled with a little quilting whilst I was off work sick, since being back to work alas, just not enough hours in the day and can just about find the time for stitching and flosstube. I have to say your Millie quilt is making me want to fall down the quilt rabbit hole I should not look 🙈
Love your videos. Amount of videos are not important just that you come back and show us what you have been doing! That bee cross stitch would be cute as a top of a mason jar
Thanks for showing the Birmingham quilt show it has been on my bucket list for a while, well certainly have not been idle while m.i.a lol, loved seeing all your pieces, your are so creative, I also love watching Michelle @momma loves you gb with all her historical samplers.
Lovely to see all your beautiful makes. Birmingham festival quilts looks amazing. On my go to list for next year. Loved the historical Bath and Somerset cross stitch.
Love your videos and all of your cross-stitch and quilting projects. Also love to see Alfie in your videos. Jars and Chickens look super fun to stitch.
Loved spending time with you today Nicola, I have always loved watching , I think I have watched you right from the start of your flosstube journey, I love watching videos from the USA which are mostly about historical samplers, I have only ever stitch a small sampler from Whilst Irish naps, but I am fascinated by the meanings in the larger ones, so glad you enjoy the quilt show in Birmingham,, although I’m sure you were exhausted by the end.
Great video, missed you over the past few months. Glad you're back. My dream is to go to Birmingham with my daughter to see the Festival of Quilts. Maybe next year for my 60th birthday ❤
Loved seeing and hearing from you again. I visited the NEC for the quiltshow some tears ago and was like you overwhelmed by all the beautiful quilts I saw. And of course the shopping was fantastic too.I enjoyed watching your stiching and quilting projects and finishes as usual. Love the Chickens! Till next time!
Lovely to see you back again Nicola and hear all your news. I haven’t been to the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham for years but I remember how amazing it was. You have inspired me to pick up my Christmas quilt again and try and get it finished for this Christmas!
Thank you for a wonder video! You have been so busy! Can’t wait to see the quilt done that is being quilted right now. It looks so cute! I love all the things you have stitched also! Hope to see you again soon!
It’s so refreshing to have you back Nicola! Thank you for sharing the Birmingham quilt show fabulous quilts! Just absolutely loved this video. Watched it from beginning to end. I love all of your ideas and how you incorporate Lori Holt patterns that I would never consider just something that I wish you had of mentioned Jen Kingwell is an Australian designer. Most of the photography in MacBook was done in Australia and the recipes are made for her quilting Cafe that she has on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria Australia Leamington a square of sponge cake that is then dipped and rolled into melted chocolate then rolled, into coconut and left to set there is another flavour that is sometimes done using jelly crystals however that is usually done with fairy cakes and is an older tradition. Sorry for the spelling mistakes. I am dictating this and what I was trying to say regarding Lori Holt material is that you have a way of incorporating it into patterns that I would never consider. That’s why I love your RU-vid thanks Jenny Melbourne Australia🇦🇺. 💚
Brilliant floss tube Nicola. Thoroughly enjoyed it. So much so that I watched it twice, just in case I missed something.😂 Loved, loved, loved your Millie Dress quilt and very jealous of all your quilt haul from FOQ in Birmingham. I've never been , ut its so on my bucket list to do next year. X
I was amazed to see you had visited the festival of quilts as well as finishing what you have. I went for the first time last year to FOQ and really enjoyed myself. I’m hoping to go next year. Historical getting time from work is definitely a challenge. But it won’t stop me. Birmingham is an amazing place to visit. Wow have you had a lot going on and still managed to stitch on a variety of projects. I have so any quilting projects to finish as well as stitching projects it’s does inspire me to me keep going. I’m very jealous about you making the Stacy Nash workshop and I hope one day I might make one too. I can imagine it’s a very special experience. Lovely to see your floss tube and postings on instagram. I always try to take extra time in my day to look at your postings. They are always an inspiration. ❤
Hello Nicola, A friend recommended your channel, I’m so glad she did, it is so nice to watch another uk flosstubers, I have loved seeing everything and will be binge watching your older videos, have a great week, Birmingham, Histroical.
Good to see you back on my screen, I missed you, I love seeing historical samplers stitched up although I never stitched one myself, the Birmingham quilt must be an amazing sight, maybe one day I will visit.
Lovely video. Great to see all your cross stitch and quilting progress. I am just starting my quilting journey so great to see what you have achieved. Jars and chickens look fab.
Hi Nicola, always really enjoy your videos. Love seeing all your stitching progress and listening to your future stitching plans. The jars and are so lovely. The Halloween kit from historical sampling is so gorgeous. Happy stitching 😊❤
Always love seeing back, the stitching is fab and historical sampler so cute. Your quilting is gorgeous and I bet you can’t wait for r Christmas to get your quilt on display, off to find the pattern 😊
It is so good to see you!! Time just flew by while I watched! Thank you so very much! You have such great ideas! I love the Lamington Tea quilt using Lori Holt fabrics! Your first block was amazing! Can’t wait to see more. And Luna Lapin was so darling! Happy stitching, Nicola. Hope your next video isn’t too far away! ❤ historical
I like the wavy line quilting. It gives me an idea for my own quilting. Your quilt is very festive. I just finished the fat quarter shop star of wonder quilt and crossstitch. I made the crossstitch piece into a pillow for my sister who has a church pew that I want to fill with pillows for her.
Can’t wait to see Millie when she gets back!!! I have the ORIGINAL pattern and even some fabric from that line….. one day I’ll get it started. I’m still working on Chicken Salad!! LOL Thanks for sharing your beautiful stitching/quilty progress!
Thank you so much for this wonderful video. It was so great to see everything and I loved seeing your quilt haul and progress. I especially loved seeing all your purchases of Luna the rabbit. I am so grateful to be able to watch someone who is truly excited about what you are doing. I always look forward to each video because you are so encouraging. Don’t worry about coming back on a regular basis. I think what you get done while still working is amazing.
Hi Nicola. I love love loved the Historical sampler SAL and watched it unfold through lots of stitchers so giving us an opportunity to stitch it has caused much excitement.
I love long videos Nicola and thoroughly enjoyed seeing both your quilting and cross stitch journeys. Now to go and see if those pesky chickens have left any eggs for me!
How wonderful it was to have your inspiring Flosstube pop up! I have enjoyed every moment of it. Your stitching is just lovely. I love your Millie's Dress quilt.....so amazing! Thank you for showing your leftover fabric, that was something I have wondered about. Just as you said, what if I make an error. I am so excited for you to get it back and be able to enjoy it! Well done! I enjoyed your combination of crafts into one video, thank you so much for sharing with us all!
What a beautiful display of your work. I share your love of Brenda Gervais - I finished summer’s swan today (although I wasn’t brave enough to try to convert the star spangled banner to a union flag!). The new autumn charts arrived this week and I am itching to start those too! Thanks for another lovely flosstube. 🫶
Yay, so glad you're back and such a brilliant video!! I'd love to visit Birmingham for FOQ one day, it sounds amazing 🥰 Jars, Historical and Chickens!! Looking forward to your next installment 🤩 Happy stitching, sewing and quilting!
Good to see you back, and looking so happy , enjoying life and stitching, just you do a video when you are ready, we are always here, Birmingham, Historical, take care.
Hello Nicola....how lovely to see you back again! It has been a while but well worth the wait. Lovely stitching as usual. I too absolutely love Brenda Gervais patterns and you have done a wonderful job on yours. I have Mice in the Sewing Room but have not stitched it yet but now I really want to after seeing yours! I have never stitched anything from the Historical sampler company but the chart is charming so would love to have a go. :) As it happens I have a very small flock of pet chickens! How appropriate to stitch the charts. Your quilt finish is wonderful! Well done you. Very interesting to see the quilt you are doing EPP. I did a Grandmothers Flower Garden EPP. I sewed it entirely by hand and quilted each hexagon by hand. In total it took me 15 years! So....if you get yours done in 3 years that is not too bad. Looking forward to seeing you next time. Cheers from Canada.
Wonderful video and so good to see you back. Amazing haul , I have jumped down a rabbit hole which I’m blaming you for! Never worry about how many videos you do, it’s the content that matters and yours are always such a joy. FYI the day I watched your video I had just found Stitch with Rachel watched her make a Liberty placemat with scraps, so now I have another You Tube to watch, I think Birmingham will have to be on my radar for next year. Liz T .
Hello Nicola, I have just been catching up with Jules from Sew Sweet Violet and she mentioned you so here I am! and sooo glad I did as I was told! I have thoroughly enjoyed watching you. I've got LOADS more to watch to catch up with you! Love the jars, chickens and anything historical x
Wonderful video. Good to see you. With all you have going on I think you have gotten a lot done. I had the opportunity to go to Hawaii and i was really surprised to see so many chickens running around there. Lori Holt came out with her chicken quilt before the cross stitched chickens. I am still working on the quilt, need to embroider the feet and put together, but I am dragging my feet. Take the time you have and do the sewing you want. Remember us once in awhile with a you tube so we know what wonderful things you are making!
Loved seeing all your WIPs. Your quilt is beautiful and one I would definitely like to make. Cowslip is amazing and you will have a great time. There are no historical chickens in jars made in Birmingham .
Nice to see you again Nicola ! I enjoyed seeing your projects and your haul.Love your Christmas quilt it is beautiful! I would love to have some chicken.
Hi! So lovely to see you again and your beautiful stitching and quilting. I went to Birmingham to the FoQ. As you say, it was amazing. I have hot the Millie’s Dresses pattern and hope to make a start soon but I was out off by that birder and going to do a different one. I also have Luna Lupin and ashamed to say she has been in a box for too many years waiting to be sewn. Think we are both going to be busy. Happy sewing! Best wishes Alison
Ohhh my! You shared so much! Thank you for the inspiration. Always trying to reuse my pretty candle jars. And love things in Mason jars 🫙 too! I have a giant green stone Mason jar outside that is so cute. I thought I might fill it with seasonal flowers but over the last few years have not done that yet. I shared your video with my daughter because she quilts, too. And i finally got her and the little grandgirls into cross stitch.❤ 💝💖💗💓🧵🪡🕊🌻
Lovely to see all your makes. Your Christmas quilt is beautiful in those colors. You did such a beautiful job on Millie’s quilt in all those pretty fabrics. I am late to the Luna Lapin party too. I’ve had the book for the longest time. Now may be the time to finally stitch her! The historical Halloween stitch kit would be a fun one to stitch.
Hi Nicola, lovely to see you again and I'm so glad you had a fun trip to Birmingham for the FOQ! There is nothing like a good quilt show for getting any sort of sewing mojo going and your haul of treasures is divine. I have only been once and it was there too that I fell in love with lovely Luna as did my Quilty friends. We have all made Lunas - me three times in different colours. One went all the way to Tasmania (a beige one) and I made the grey one then a white one. They are very compelling to do! Miss Snow White never got any clothes made for her but I shall put that right another time. Thanks again for taking the time to do a great video x
So good to see you again!! You've been missed!! What a great video you delighted us with, though!! Such Amazing things you shared with us today. Thank you for taking the time putting it all together for us to live vicariously through you!! Jars, Historical
Hi Nicola, and thank you for a bumper bundle of a flosstube! So much loveliness! You are such an enabler for the whole world of quilting - I've done a few play quilts in the past for the grandkids but I'm now perusing online fabric shops like there's no tomorrow....maybe I'll find a lovely pattern with chickens on it! Take care, Kim ❤
Adding another comment after watching your quilting section and to tell you that you did an amazing job and enjoyed it very much. I ordered the lapin hare book and would love to do a stitch along of some kind. As I said before I love the English idea of all of it. Thankyou again. Sue Chavanne
So much inspiration! And we have so many projects in common - I just completed the Grand Olde Flag II trio, my Mr. Marshmallow is at about the same place as yours, and I have the tomato cushion set all kitted and ready to go! I have a complete kit for Alice’s Wonderland waiting for me (I subscribed to the BOM a couple of years ago). And I have a two-day workshop with Jen Kingwell herself in October (she’s coming to North Texas to Denison, about 45 minutes north of Dallas). I am retired but am active in volunteer work so there never is enough time in my days. I sure am having fun, though! Thank you for continuing to share your creative life through your videos. I so enjoy them and always look forward to the next one.❤
What a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon, with a flosstuber that is new to me, it was a delight to see all your projects and too see a little of the quilt show in Birmingham, I think historical samplers are absolutely fascinating.
What a lovely catch up Nicola. I'm off to Cowslip too and it would be fun to see you and Paula there. The FoQs was fantastic and I'm sorry not to have seen you there but thank you for showing some of the quilts and your acquisitions which were gorgeous. Happy stitching, Teresa 🪡🧵♥
Wow!!! What a video!!!! I thought the cross-stitch portion was amazing, but then hearing all about the quilt show and seeing all your purchases . . . Wow, wow, wow!!!!! I can't wait to see everything you work on for your NEXT video!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this!
Oh Nicola what a wonderful FT packed with inspiration and fun new things to add to the list inspired by your fab trip to Birmingham!! 😂I nearly fell off my chair when you mentioned me - thank you so much for your kind words! You know I’m a massive fan ever since your vlogmas when we cooked with you in your kitchen 😊I can’t wait to meet you at Cowslip - happy stitching 🧵💛🐝
Hello and welcome back.Your million dresses quilt looks wonderful. A plain colour binding would look good and keep the scrappy binding for something else. Its very busy with the intricate border. My view.
Loved seeing everything, your stitching is always very precise and neat, it’s been a while but life just has a habit of getting in the way doesn’t it,my hubby was in Birmingham for a work thing many years ago , but I have never been, I’m not sure I would have the stamina now to see everything, but I love to watch on RU-vid.
