I am rather "late to the party", but just finally watched this video. You are working on so many awesome projects, and I love seeing them all. Your witchy projects are my favorites - at least in this time of year. Keep up the great stitching!!
I love your videos! And I completely agree with you about the Nurge hoops - I like how light they are. However, I agree if you ratchet it down super tight, it pulls the linen a bit. I bet it does relax a little once it's off but you probably wouldn't leave something really tight for a long time.
Enjoying your witchy projects, also interested in the hoop tooic, Aida seems to stand up well to Nurge but I can see how it might distort the threads in linen. Love your enthusiasm and joy you share with us!
I am going down a rabbit hole. I recently found flosstube and why I began watching is beyond me because I stopped embroidering over 20 years ago because I didn’t like it. So why I now drove 80 km to buy floss and Aida and bought a pattern from the internet and have three more coming in the mail is beyond my understanding. There seems to have happened a lot since I stopped. The witchy Halloween is stunning. Thank you for your flosstube. I really enjoyed it and am now a subscriber.
the Christmas Chicken - omg.....i have been eyeing that one for SO LONG.....and now seeing how BEAUTIFUL it turned out (on Aida too!), now i have to do it! thanks
Thank you for the great video. You sure have wonderful projects and beautiful stitching! Always nice to see what you’re stitching! I also was in your video with the other ladies. You all had fun stitching together and mostly is the memories you guys are creating! Keep up with gathering! ❤
Just found you on floss tube. I like having someone to keep me company as I stitch. Recently I've been drawn to all the witchy pieces out there, and currently working on Whimsy Halloween by Teresa Kogut. I wish I was younger and had more time for my curated collection of patterns.
Rebecca! Greetings from Dallas! It’s always so enjoyable to get your video. I love seeing all the Mill Hill ornaments you’re stitching. I love the witchy Halloween Quaker! I love all the Halloween patterns but have never stitched one for myself, just others, as I don’t usually decorate for Halloween. But this would be a great start to do that!! Thanks so much!!!
Love the green nail polish! 💚 I tend to only use Nurge hoops on small projects that fit entirely in the hoop (same for Q-Snaps). Larger projects go on scroll rods, or I use a Hardwicke Manor hoop (with the inner hoop wrapped in twill tape) that I move around. Your Dark Golden Delicious is going to be gorgeous on that fabric.
I do the exact same! For some reason I cannot bring myself to put a hoop over stitches I have completed I'm too afraid it will distort them. I'm also not the type to remove n replace a hoop/qsnap/scroll frame once I put the fabric on, it stays there til I'm done w the project, so I think that's another reason y I like to make sure the whole project fits inside the nurge or whatever (of course I do scroll up or down on a frame as needed). Happy stitching Denise! 🐈⬛🪡❤️
I am totally in a Halloween vibe in my stitching. Just finished Stephen king house by witchy stitcher. Loved every stitch. Starting her Hannibal’s next. Halloween Quaker would be a great addition to the set.
The breaks during the deadly aquarium have thrown me. When we come back from the breaks it has taken about a week to 10 days to get back into it. Witchy
I love all your wips. There are a lot I'm working on as well and even more that I want to start. I love watching your channel because it seems we have similar tastes in projects and books. My current Witchy stitch is Tonight We Ride. I've been wanting to get the Halloween Sampler, though. I have the same issue with Nurge hoops. I love how they are square and hold the fabric well, but even with removing daily they still pull at the weave. I'm so worried it's going to put a hole in the fabric. It only happens with linen though so I use them only on lugana and aida.
Love all your projects, it was great to see the Christmas Chicken in DMC threads, will definitely had that to my future projects! Happy witchy season 😄
Your Christmas Chicken finish is adorable. Looking forward to seeing it fully finished! You have such a fun array of projects, however, Mill Hill beading will never be my favorite. Yours look great! Enjoy this next month, as witchy season approaches. 😊
Another enjoyable episode! I didn’t get a lot of stitching done on my “Just One More Chapter” by Puntini Puntini because I was jotting down projects for my wish list, like the witchy Halloween Quaker. Thank you for sharing your time and lovely projects with us.
I like starting and finishing my stitches by weaving through stitches on the back. They don’t come out either. Well. Almost never. Love your video. Texas girls are the best. Patty
Thanks for the warning nurge I actually found my qsnap would do that same thing on certain fabrics sometimes maybe I'm just making them all too tight guess that means I'll have to invest in scroll rods and a stand next
Great video. I use Q snaps, and I make them big enough that my whole project fits inside (yes, I have some massive Q snaps, but they work great on my lowery with corner clamp). I use one for each project as I don’t have that many and never take them off the Q snap until complete - I’ve been doing this for years with no issue. I love that witchy pattern!
I have the same struggle with nurge hoops on linen. It doesn’t seem to happen on aida. It seems to occur when I’ve left it on the hoop for more than a day and I try to retighten it to be drum tight. I just use my fingers to move the weave back into place. I haven’t noticed a problem if it’s over stitches. I’ve found myself also stitching on fewer projects lately and getting more progress. Only a few more weeks of the aquarium, then I get to start the Haunted Library just in time for Halloween season to really pick up. I have been tempted to start a witchy quaker lately. I haven’t done a quaker yet and that one keeps grabbing my attention.
Rebecca, what beautiful projects you have going! I love Consider the Lilies, but have some larger projects I need to finish first before starting another. The Lila’s Studio Halloween Quaker has been on my wishlist and it’s the perfect time to stitch it as we enter the witchy season! Though, it’s another big one!
Hi Rebecca ! I'm so happy witchy season is soon as autumn is my favorite one ! I plan to start the autumn quaker and the Halloween one would be perfect as well to go with ! So happy this one is not US only ❤ Have a very nice day !
I just finished my first ornament on perforated paper and finished it using your tutorial, great instructions! I am looking forward to a witchy Halloween!!
You’re so lucky to have the chance to meet all these amazing people and have such fun! 😊 We don’t celebrate Halloween but this witchy pattern is awesome!❤
I have just found your channel and have several artsy housewife patterns planned … your chicken turned out wonderful!! I have never stitched a Halloween pattern, but have seen quite a few people stitching the witchy Halloween chart and I would enjoy having it on my wall for the holidays….thank you for your generosity
Loved your video and seeing your progress on your projects. I have always lived the Halloween Quaker since the first time I saw it. I would love to stitch this Witchy piece!
I have only just found you, going back to watch your other 5 videos, lovely projects. I would love to stitch the witchy quacker pattern, it looks like fun. Looking forward to your next video.
You've got some nice projects that I'll be happy to watch your progress on! I've also found Nurge's to be dangerous that way. The tongue and groove system that keeps them so tight is risky...maybe best for small projects that completely fit inside the hoop. I can't imagine I'm the only one, and just for pure curiosity's sake, but could a t-shirt talk be included in future videos? I kept wondering what the rest of it said/looked like, and what it's significance was. You often seem to have something interesting on, and I'm too old to get the cultural references these days. Always enjoy your FT's!
You convinced me to purchase Christmas Chicken!!!!! I can wait to start stitching it. I have been doing some witchy stitching so far and would love to start the Quaker Halloween!!! Thanks for showing all your projects!
I’m trying so hard to not be influenced by you Flosstubers but am failing as I have no interest in beading but now I want to try a Mill Hill😅 I’m hoping to make some online crafty friends but this is way out of my comfort zone so I’m always in awe of people putting themselves out there like you are doing. I’m so happy you’ve found a great group! I love Lila’s studio and am doing her Summer Quaker for a friend. Witchy
You got so much done! I like your Christmas chicken. I haven't started any witchy projects yet, but I started some Christmas in August. I just couldn't get into it in July.
I tried to get into Mill Hill kits (very inspired by you) and I give you so much credit for home many you do they are not my jam 😅 loving the Barbara Anas! I need to start one. I absolutely love her designs
Sounds like you had some great in person meet ups - it is always great when people are just as awesome in person! I am so excited for witchy season - its my favorite. I also just started Halloween at Hawk run hollow and can't wait to get more stitching in on it.
That ladybug was so much fun to do. Love the chicken. Bet that get together was a blast. I’m at the double block on Halloween at Hawk Run Hollow but two other SALS ahead of it. Halloween Quaker was so much fun. It was my first Quaker.
Love the Santa Dimensions Gold Kit. I just bought my very first Dimensions Gold Kit and it is called Wreath of All Seasons and I have been wanting it for a year now and I finally bought it but I have not started it yet. I think I may start it on September 1st because where I have to start it is in the middle and with the word Fall so that will be fun. I will also be starting my first Sampler and it is called Berlin Swallows Sampler and it is so beautiful. Your Sampler looks awesome. Happy Stitching.
The christmas chicken is amazing!! I've never seen that pattern before! Thanks for sharing your update and sounds like you've had so much fun with in person meets too! Also, I've seen the same exact thing with the nurge hoops. I've actually tried to stop using them now because I didn't like what was happening! I don't need to add that to the stress ha.
If you figure out better way to end threads please share, I also don't like the way it looks when ending with pin stitch. I’ve been doing what I think is called waste away, where I pull it up somewhere that will be stitched over and then cut it off. That witchy pattern is on my wish list and it’s almost that time of year 🎃
Another enjoyable episode! I didn’t get a lot of stitching done on my “Just One More Chapter” by Puntini Puntini because I was jotting down projects for my wish list, like the witchy Halloween Quaker. Thank you for sharing your time and lovely projects with us.
