I have a few Qsnap frames, and I bought some frames from Michaels and Hobby Lobby. Which interacting with them, I noticed a difference between them that make them behave a lot differently. Clearly, only one is work the cost
Frames available at:
QSnap: www.qsnap.com/
Michaels: www.michaels.c...
Hobby Lobby: www.hobbylobby...

This is very helpful, thank you! I have been trying to decide if I should order a qsnap or just pick one up at the store and this was informative. ❤

Thank you so much for taking the time to do the best review of the 3 frames. It was very helpful. I look at the frame in HL sometimes and wonder. Now we know. Pass. QSnap it is.

As far as for the slack issue, you can put a small piece of sandpaper inside the piece that snaps on to the frame. Or, you can use some felt under three snap on pieces. I think the Q Snap frame snap on piece has ridges inside the snap on piece also.

Thank you. New to cross stitch...I had no idea there is a difference...and such a big difference. Again, thank you.

I quit useing my q snap because it was so hard to get the clamps off. It's definitely not a q snap. Thank you for your video.

I am waiting for my q-snaps that I ordered off of Amazon. I ordered an 8x8 and 11x11 for $41.00 with tax included. Never used a q-snap looking forward to trying it out. Thank you for your video. Very informative thank you bunches

Found this very interesting. I have a couple Q Snaps. Very old. Now I can go check them out. Maybe that is why I don’t like them. I always try to pull the sleeves off. Maybe sliding them will work better. Need to start using them. Thanks for sharing. Going now to rewatch.

May I make a comment? I notice that you have the fabric wrapping the topside of the frame. Your fabric is getting a lot of hand oils this way. The owner, when I called the company, answered. He said they photographed it that way to show how the clips would be placed. He said, however, that my way was correct. I place the frame on the top, working side of the fabric, then clip. This creates a well of fabric, but I am only touching the back of the fabric hat any time. Try it. See the difference, especially if the project is a long-term project with a lot of handling.

Has any one tried using pvc pipe as an alternative to make their own. I haven’t used a qsnap , just curious if anyone has

Thank you so much for your review & comparison on these frames! I probably would have bought a store brand frame!

Thank you, your video was very very helpful. Now, I will not buy anything but Q Snap frames. I think I had had that issue years ago with the cheaper frames.

Thank you for sharing your wisdom, just ordered a QSnap. I had no idea there was much of a difference in between the brands.

Wrap masking tape around the joints that fit in the pipe that will staple it a little bit better than the wiggling sensation you’re getting

Just purchased the one from Michael’s. Wish I did more research first. I wonder if you crazy glued one side piece to 1 corner piece (2 times) - then you’d have another frame similar to the qsnap, since you already spent the money on the Michael’s and Hobby lobby frames. Thank you for making the video!

Thank you for this video, very informative! I do have a quick question if any who has a qsnap can answer... I currently use a wooden hoop and when I move to another section of my piece, some of the stitching goes under the hoop, which is fine. I wanted to ask if this can happen with the qsnap, say for example if I were to buy the 8x8 qsnap and I had a larger project, when I put my piece into the qsnap is it OK for some of the stitching to go under the qsnap pipes/covers? I could always put fabric between the piece and the actual qsnap pipes, but is it OK for the stitching to go under there, or will it be damaged ? I hope that makes sense

What if you put some crazy glue on the 4 joints of the Hobby Lobby and Michael’s frames? You won’t be able to take them apart, but, at least they would be more stable. Unmovable.
@sarahinstitches

I thought about doing that but then I'd never be able to dismantle them again. Although do I really need to? I'm undecided.
@jessicajonesstitches7331

You might want to try a little bit of masking tape at the joints to keep them from coming apart.

i was just thinking about hot glueing one side of each joint or maybe using B-3000 to glue a joint together on a each side
