Congratulations on 2,000 subscribers. I love working with LACE with most of my projects. I'm so happy that I stumbled upon your channel. I have learned so much!! Thank you!
I enjoyed your visit with Janet. I learned a lot about the history of lace making. All your finishes are beautiful. Hope you are on your feet real soon. Congratulations on 2000 subscribers
Congratulations on going over 2000 subscribers! I just loved your interview with Janet and her lace making history! So very interesting. My Grandma did smocking and I always thought I would like to try that, unfortunately she passed away before she could teach me. I have the same hobbies/interests as you. I enjoy your channel.. Also when you told Janet that you brought her boat for her to see, it was very sentimental, I could feel how excited she was to be able to see her Father’s boat again, she is very lucky that you bought it and have restored it. Loving forward to your next video, now off to check out Sam’s channel.
Thank you so much! We are finishing up his video this evening about his modifications to the galley end wall. He will have to edit it so it will be a day or two before it gets posted. Janet is just a genuinely beautiful person inside and out. ❤
Congratulations on hitting 2K subscribers. So glad your foot is healing. Very interesting video with Janet, I had no idea that bobbin lace was a craft not sure I would be able to do that looks way too involved. And the boat it is stunning. Your videos are always entertaining, and I learn something from each one Thank you so much.
What a great video. Loved your projects. And such a fantastic guest. I would have never known about bobbin lace. It is amazing and sure looks complicated. Very lovely lady. How interesting that you own the boat her father built. Thank you for sharing all the things!
Just found your channel! How delightful you are. I have many needle hobbies also. Last year I got back into cross stitch. Before that I learned crochet. One year I devoted to needle tatting, it was fairly easy to learn and fun to do. My grandmother taught me how to knit when I was 9 and I taught that in 4H in Indiana as a young girl. However bobbin lace seems well beyond my capabilities. Janet is a lovely lady. Thank you and congratulations on your 2000+ subscribers 🎉
Karen, I think I want to learn to tat. Do you do it often? Was it stressful to your hands? So many questions 😊 I’m glad you enjoyed the video and I hope you’ll continue to watch. Thank you!
Autumn, that’s a beautiful way to express it! I’ll tell Janet what you said. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I appreciate what you’ve said ❤.
Congratulations on your 2,100. Subscribers. Great video, cool quilt. Hope your foot keeps improving. All things look good with lace. Enjoy crafting and see you next time.
Congratulations on reaching your RU-vid subscriber milestone! Interesting video today, especially introducing us to Adrian and her exquisite bobbin “lace” creations! So terrific to keep heirloom textiles in everyone’s view. Thank you again for an interesting and informative channel.
Really enjoyed the bobbin lace demonstration! Amazing work and an amazing woman, Janet! The sailboat was awesome to see as well. I also have a tatting shuttle that was my grandmothers. I don't know how to use it either! Congratulations on your 2000 subscribers.
Thank you Dee! There’s a part of me that would love to learn tatting. I bet Janet could teach me. I bet I’d regret not learning from her…. But…. Another hobby? Oh my! Hope you learn some day!
Congratulations. I have seen the lace being made before. It is fascinating to watch. When they get going with the bobbins it is mesmerizing to watch. Have a great week.
Such a lovely video, Cindy! Janet was a delight to listen to and hear her story. The lace she creates is just beautiful. The sailboat connection is so fun, nice work restoring it, thanks for sharing it too!
Very interesting video…..I look forward to every single one……bobbin lace is awesome….hopefully the next month will go by very fast for you……Happy Stitching!!!!!
@@cindysadventuresinstitching I actually found one and bought it. I bought some lace zippers and am going to make some project bags soon. You made it look so easy.
I'm so glad your surgery went well and your foot feels so much better! God bless Sam for helping you! And I felt so badly that he fell over the ladder (I broke some ribs) so I hope he wasn't hurt! Great quilt stand though! How lovely to meet the beautiful Janet and see her lace making keepsake for her granddaughter who may pass down to future generations! My grandmother tatted lace but I don't remember seeing her do, and I think that would have stood out in my mind as my mother taught me all kinds of needlework. Oh lordie, I burst into tears when Janet asked, "You brought the boat?" Sam, you are a keeper❤ It is transformative to sail! I've been lucky to go twice and not having the sound of the motor is wonderful!
What a fun video Cindy. So glad that your foot is recovering. Wow, lace! I’ve seen other stitchers with their bobbins but have not seen a tutorial or an in-depth description like Janet gave. So fun to learn about her history and the history of lace. (The boat was pretty cool too!) Hugs and blessings on your week!
Years ago I watched a sweet lady making lace.....not bobbin lace though. It appeared to be quite difficult but the results were gorgeous. Love your videos and that your spouse also participates. Happy stitching!!
Congratulations on over 2000 subscribers. Tomato Tuesday was the inception of Annie the proper stitcher. I have participated in it but I use it more of I start a tomato project on a Tuesday. Because I’m pretty much a monogamous teacher haven’t quite figured out the let’s do several things at one time however, I am a fast you’re so I do get a lot of things done that lacework is just mesmerizing. You know if I was younger I would’ve tried it, but if this stage of the game it would take me way too many years to get good at it so I’ll just stick with my quilting, sewing and Crosstitch embroidery. Yellow those will keep me busy enough anyway. See you again soon.
Love the colorful small spring quilt you made.and also seeing Jib. Janet was delight. I learned alot and that I will never try it! Haha. The lace is beautiful
Thank you Suzanne! Isn’t she a delight! Only way I know how to describe her. Thanks for watching and give the lace zippers a try. You may never go back to regular zips. 😊
I absolutely LOVED not only seeing your projects but your sit down with Janet was amazing. The art of making Lace is so interesting, I wanted to hear more. Love your hubby's participation as well.
Hi Cindy and Sam! I'm sure glad that Sam put some pants on for the ending. :) That boat is gorgeous! I love vintage stuff. The lace is way too intricate for me to want to try. I think I'd have an anxiety attack! I'll be camping this coming weekend with some vintage camper friends. It may rain all weekend according to the forecast, but I'm praying for it to be sunny and warm. :) Thanks for the shout out!
Great video and loved learning about Lace. Can’t wait to try making my own project bags. (may try the lace zippers as well). Thank you so much for the tutorial on that.
I’m a new subscriber! Your video was so interesting. The lace clip was very informing. Your stitching is very pretty. Thanks for all the things. Looking forward to your next video visit. ❤️🧵🪡✂️
Congratulations on your over 2k subscribers, always a pleasure to watch your videos. "But there's more" :) it is also a pleasure to hear the two of you completing each other, your couple gives the viewer such a sense of harmony and coziness!
Congratulations on your 2k milestone, Cindy! 🎉 I love your stitching adventures, and look forward to seeing what you have in store for us next week! Meanwhile, happy stitching - and thank you for introducing us to Janet and her lace.
Congratulations on your 2000 subscribers. The bobbin lace demonstration was very interesting.... I love seeing your bunny. I also had bunnies as pets and my last one passed a way a few years ago. I would love another but it is heartbreaking losing a pet... I love your bunny t shirt where did you find it. Thanks for sharing your love of needlework!
It is so hard to lose a pet. There aren’t many of us bunny owners around. Thank you for sharing that with me. I really enjoy our buns. I have an embroidery machine and I made the shirt. That’s how I made the project bags. It’s really fun. I like designing things and this gives me an outlet to do that.
Congrats on reaching 2K. Janet’s lace is just extraordinary! Like you, I have so many things going on plus work that I will just have to enjoy watching others do that craft. Glad you are on the road to recovery!
I would absolutely love the bag stitching like I stole some thing. Living in Michigan and being a Tigers fan, our color commentator from years ago, sadly, he is not our commentator anymore, used to talk about the Tigers “hitting CC Sabathia, like he stole something!” Thanks for the chance, and for the lace demo.
Congratulations on 2,000 subscribers 🎉 I'm glad your foot is healing, at least you were able to create pretty things while staying down. I enjoyed the visit with Janet & hearing her talk about Bobbin Lace, her handwork is beautiful & her granddaughter will cherish her garter handmade with love. What a neat story about Miss Friday!
Congratulations on 2000 subscribers. I really enjoyed the segment on bobbin lace. There was a show on PBS called Lark Rise to Candleford, based on the true life story of Flora Thompson. In the show, there is a character Queenie who did bobbin lace, and would sell it to the dressmakers in town. The timeline is 1890s. That’s about the time “factory lace” was being made, so she lost her income from it. Very interesting how then she did it for pure enjoyment. I learned a lot about it from that show
After your channel I loved everything you were talking about I like your she shed or camper that is so cute I like that I used to live in Plainfield Indiana I miss Indiana but my daughter still there so happy stitching and I hope you and your family doing okay stay safe be careful out there and stay warm and happy happy stitching💜🙏✌️🪡🧵✂️🧶💜💜✌️✌️🙏🙏🤠🤠
@@cindysadventuresinstitching up cross stitch for 48 years and up and down a long time I do it because I'm disabled I can't work I lay in bed all day so I cross stitch and do projects crafting so I don't go crazy sitting at home😊😊
I’m so sorry that my phone autocorrected to Holder instead of your name Hilde. Thank goodness for our hobbies. My mother crocheted her entire life. I’m glad you have stitching to help pass the time.
Just discovered your channel today. The first video i watched was the one on making floss drops. I've been considering, for a year, buying a Sizzix though. Hopefully i can make the conversion? Currently I buy generic tags from Amazon then punch my own holes. Was the heavy duty cardstock available in small quantities?
Hi! I’m sorry for the delayed response. I’ve been unplugged for a couple weeks. I did not see smaller packages of card stock but I wonder if there are other sources out there. Hope you get to try making the drops. (It really is easy.) Thanks for watching and Good luck!
I had 2 neuromas which are chronically inflamed sensory nerves. I tried reducing how much I walked, medication, injections, and orthotics. Nothing reduced the pain. After several appointments with a podiatrist, we decided removal of the nerves was the only permanent solution. 🤞🏼🙏
