I am in awe of your stitching, so so beautiful. and yes I have so much to learn myself, I stitched in the 80's and 90's life with 4 kids got crazy and now old disabled I have time and love how needlework has grown large community. Have a awesome day!
You "sat" with me all workday today. I listened and you talked about all sorts of "stitch-y stuff". I did talk back every once in a while, too. Thank you for a very enjoyable day. 😘
Gosh, you showed some gorgeous pieces today that you stitched! I love the designs and the colors (especially the one you showed for Scott Lee). You are so interesting to listen to. Thanks for sharing what you know with us. So looking forward to the retreat! Can't believe it's almost here! See you then😊
I loved your floss tube. Your introduction of your finished canvas works was wonderful. I have many canvas work projects in my stash. Thank you for sharing your beautiful works of art! I will definitely help with getting extra hours so you will have control over commercials.
Hi, Arlene. Good to see you. Here is what I learned from this episode: It is perfectly okay for me to pull out that expensive counted canvas project I put on "time-out" (going on four years now) and try stitching it on 18-count Aida. Game changer!! The mesh canvas which came with the kit was an adventure in frustration, but I didn't have the heart to toss all those beautiful threads and metallic. I can't wait to see your new designs. Best wishes.
Love, love, love your stitching and your educational flosstubes. Thank you for the work you put into creating them! I’ve done two canvas pieces and really enjoyed the stitch and thread variations - but it hurt my thumb joint (from pulling the thread through the canvas). I thought maybe I was using too big a needle for the size of canvas holes - so I want to try it again. So many pretty things to stitch and not nearly enough hours in a day!
Arlene! Great video!! The canvas work you showed was stunningly beautiful. And the rose you did on silk gauze was amazing. It really looked real. Your flosstubes are always a joy to watch! I learn so much! I must try and make it to your retreat sometime in the future so I can meet you in person. That would be such a treat!
Thank you so much - you always have such kind words for me! In a few weeks, I'll post some information about Stitch NJ for next year - look on my Instagram and of course I'll talk about it in my next video
You have showed all the things that get my attention! Love seeing all your colour versions of Scott Lee, and the Kurdy Bigg’s pieces. She does use a LOT of colours and beads and they are expensive to kit up. My first experience with canvaswork was Susan Portra, as well as Genny’s “Nova”. Then came Jean! I remember seeing a post of your ScottLee many years ago… and I ended up buying the pattern and doing the original. I am impressed you restitched all those Jessicas! There is a smaller square version at the back of the book. I have often pondered doing that in other colours. Not yet.
Thanks for sharing your canvaswork, it's always fun to learn about a different technique. Your choices of colour always look amazing and so well co-ordinated. And thanks for the information about advertising. There were 7 adverts in this short video, I like to watch your videos while stitching so it's a nuisance to have to stop and "skip ad" every 5 minutes! Especially when you're not even benefitting from it, not even 7p LOL I will happily play through your backlist again to avoid this.
I'm assuming by "beginner kit", you are referring to canvas work? As I mentioned, the small square designs I showed here are intended to be for beginners, with minimal needs for materials (piece of canvas that you can buy from me and your choice of 3 DMC colors).
