Hey I know that the men in my family buy guns …. Ammo …. Camping gear … fishing equipment and bow and arrow “stuff” ….. collecting kits and patterns pales in comparison money wise to allllllll of those hobbies AND all the guys do is talk shop about their hobbies …. Now I have Flosstubes and stitchy friends to talk shop with 😮😮😮Soooooo naaaahhhh nothing wrong with my little stash “cough cough” and now I’m living the whole retreat world …. It brings me joy so as far as I’m concerned you can’t put a price on that ❤❤❤❤

Glad you got a quick diagnosis and are feeling better. Crystals in the ear were a big thing about 10 years ago and an ENT had a way to turn the body upside down to realign the crystals. Have a great birthday trip! Happy 41! Happy stitching!

Oh my gosh, Liz, that vertigo experience sounds terrifying! I'm so sorry you had to go through that, but I'm very glad you were able to resolve it quickly. I've been getting that "stress" diagnosis for over a year now, and it's so frustrating. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I think it's helpful in case any of us find ourselves in the same situation! It sounds like you've had a heck of a time lately. I hope you are able to relax and unwind with your bff and enjoy your birthday!

Enjoy your girls night out with Annie. I love the stocking. And who doesn't love a good Prairie Schooler collection. 😊 And yes, vertigo is not fun. I have had vertigo off and on for 20 years. I have resolved it back in 2018 (knock on wood). Long story on why I kept getting it. Its like a spinning tea cup ride that just doesn't stop. A lot of my vertigo was positional, and trying to sleep at night could be a challenge. My poor husband, I would slam on the mattress like that would stop the spinning tea cups ride. I am so glad you were able to get yours resolved in a timely manner and that you are feeling much better. Enjoy Easter with your dad!

My dad had a similar experience. Once day he just got dizzy and couldn't walk as he would go to stand up and just end up on the floor. He saw a vestibular specialist and apparently had something where the bones inside his ear that tell your body where it is in space (who knew that was a thing?!) per the doctor, "came loose". The treatment was same as you said, he had maneuvers he had to do and they worked! We did enjoy teasing him about the rocks in his head rattling about! So glad to hear you're feeling better! That Christmas stocking is beautiful - the backstich really makes it pop! Hope your vacation was wonderful!

I love Dimensions kits, too. One bit of advice from my mom years ago was to not leave the outline stitching for the last but complete it as you go. That was good advice because when you have a larger piece to work leaving the outline stitching for the last can become overwhelming. And Happy Birthday, Liz! Don't fret over the number. Every age is a different adventure so just enjoy where you're at. I like your SAL ideas for kits. I'll check them out.

I love the rabbit one for the ornament! Or the friends under the umbrella or maybe the egg (bunny egg) lately I've been in a mood to stitch bunnies so I may be a tad biased. Love seeing your dimensions progress! I've never have done a dimensions kit before but you really are making me want to try. I like how it's on the smaller side because I'm worried I'd give up on a bigger one.

I just finished 16 rounds of chemo, so I know how your dad feels, and I can imagine how you feel from watching my family take care of me. And... holy cow, I've had vertigo in the past, and you're not exaggerating; it is horrible. I guess I just wanted to say it's okay to share so we all don't feel alone. Love you tons. Oh Liz I really can sympathise with you over the vertigo. I have the same thing it’s truly awful. I’ve had maybe five bouts of it over last few years and each time I can pinpoint a particularly stressful event or time. If I find myself getting stressed I try to do some breathing exercises to try to ward off an attach. You were obviously under stress with your Dads health so I think yours could be stress related too. Please take care going forward.

I too am a Lowry stand stitcher and I love it, I also purchased mine from Lindy Stitches.... I first came into contact with it at my first cross stitch retreat. One of my sweet table mates let me try hers and needless to say I ended up using it all weekend (she had the table lowry stand so I wasn't being mean by not giving her stand back lol)... anyway I found I was able to stitch pretty fast with the front and back method.

Hi, Liz! Well, this was a fun stitchy video with you. Vertigo sounds horrible. I’m so glad you had lots of support and are fully mended. It reminds me of when my daughter had vertigo at work once. I had about 15 minutes of excitement that she might be pregnant. 😂 Funny. Not so funny. Fast forward many years later and she’s married with two baby boys. About that fish on the chart. He’s just hopping up out of the water to say, “Hello, Liz Matthews!” 😂 I just started following your friend Annie. I can’t wait to hear about your fun birthday celebration. Liz I feel your pain. I had two episodes of vertigo during the past 2 years and I will like to mention some of symptoms I had that you did not mention just in case you experience them. I could not watch TV or read because your eyes make a weird movement (Nystagmus) and I could not drink or eat for 7-8 days. I heard of people that had to be hospitalized so that’s how bad it is regardless, as you said, sounds so simple. I hope you feel better always specially when you are helping your dad. Best wishes for both of you.❤

I think you just sold me on buying the Lowery stand! You are making such good progress on your dad’s stocking. I think the ornament to commemorate your trip should be the Folk egg. And I also had vertigo exactly like that the day after I got home from the Stitch North retreat last year. Thankfully I was still at my friends place and she knew what I had and what to do but that was awful!! I hope I never have that again and I hope you don’t either.

Probably one of the PS Eggs would be my vote OR what if y’all do some stitchy shopping? Then you may want to buy something new🤔 My progress on the Dimensions SAL has come to a halt whilst I stitch Cottontail by none other than YOU! It is my 1st stitch from this year’s NNWM haul & im loving it! I’m doing the blue one, but I may also do the vibrant color way & then I was thinking about a pink bunny too! Those won’t happen this year as I’m just hoping to finish the blue one by Easter! Then maybe I can get back to other things. I’m stitching it on a 46ct from Hobby Lobby as I don’t have an LNS nearby to try & get the 56ct. But this is the highest count I’ve ever stitched & im actually enjoying it! Thanks for such a cute pattern 🩵

I've had my stand for at least 40 yrs or more. You will absolutely love it. I was a needlepoint stitcher and it was wonderful. Not sure if there were any accessories back then. No choice of colors either. It was also expensive back then. I loved it for years. Then I got away from stitching and into quilting. Now doing cross stitch, but doing sewing method. I have about 8 beautiful needlepoint projects in the closet. Like all needlework projects our desires are bigger than our completions. Love everything that you do. I have made 2 sets of #1 #3 #6 of 12 days of Christmas. Getting ready to start #7. Keeps me happy. Keep it up.

The first time I had vertigo like you described was scary. Every time I have gotten it has been due to a virus. Last year I had a 3 month bout where the maneuvers/therapy and meds were not the helping. they had just sent me to a specialist as a last resort to do brain scans and it went away! Also amazed you have had any time to stitch with all you have going on. Hoping things calm down for you a bit and allow some fun stitching time and down time.

Oh I can really sympathize with you over vertigo. My big bout hit me at work & I had to get my sister & brother-in-law to come get me so someone could drive my car. I did crawl to the bathroom to throw up from the nausea. I did have the head turning procedure done and it helped. I always take my meds with me in case it rears it's ugly head again. I will sometimes get a little spinning if I tilt my head way back to look up. All newest kits are so pretty. I'm very behind on the Dimensions sal, but I'm working to catch up. Hey Liz, I have had vertigo. This last June I had the worst case, emts had to guide me out of house to gurney with my eyes shut because everything was spinning. It poured rain just as I was getting to gurney, I got soaked and the ambulance felt like a dune buggy bouncing all over on the way to hospital and I threw up several times all over myself. I had to wait in ER for over 3 hrs before I got a room..soaked.wet. husband asked for a gown so I could change. It was a nightmare..so girl..I Know what you went through. It's terrible!! One time I went to physical therapy and they did the eplay maneuver to re align then crystals. Not a fun experience..sorry you had to experience that.

Watching you from the beach this morning Liz! We too live in MD and Ocean City is our happy place. We come down frequently in March for our anniversary. Can’t wait to see the new Salty Yarns location, though I do miss it being here on the boardwalk. So much to talk about…my sister suffers vertigo as well and the maneuvers are like magic! I’m so glad they worked for you. For your Annie stitch, I liked the last pattern you showed, eggs I think, the one with the rabbits going every which way, or the still life basket with the bird, the one under the one you said you stitched. I love Regent Street and hope you start that one on your girls trip as well. All the best to your Dad as he continues his treatments!

I had virtigo a few times in last couple of years. It is very scary when it happens the first time. A few suggestions: make sure you are taking 1000IU of vitamin D per day. I do the manuevers that help for sure. But after having it 4 times I have not had it again since I started taking the vitamin D. Hope this helps you too.

Great video… as always. My thoughts on you and Annie’s ornament .. is probably the robin and nest with your initials , since you are feeling ‘Springy’… BUT maybe also each choose one of the ‘ friendships smalls and each stitching only half of it, and swapping them on Annie’s birthday , to be completed by the other…. Then they are true ‘bestie’ stitches!! Let us all know what you decide…..🌸🌺

The bunny or friends under the umbrella are my picks.

For your ornament choice, I love your sun and moon idea. Especially since there is both a lunar AND solar eclipse in the next two weeks.

Vertigo is no joke. Remember what helped you recover this time for the future. It can be years in between for me. I like the rabbit!

I’ve had bad vertigo. Lasted 3 days nauseous yes. Dr didn’t give me any body moves to help. Slight dizziness lasted 6 weeks

Do you have Farm Fresh, No. 108, from PS? There are some darling spring like things. There’s a cute bunny and I love the ducks and the flowers. Egg ornament potentially.

The Lowry stand looks awesome however how do you secure your stitches in the back without having to take your project out of the clamp each time?

Hi Liz *this is a long one but I pray you see this. If it is possible to zoom chat or have email I can talk back and forth with you I would be grateful to be a support, taking a Hard life struggle and helping others is what I strive to do. I have Ménière’s Disease (not what you have don’t panic) which the main symptoms are constant dizziness and the full blown crawling to the bathroom concentrating w/all you have to breathe through minutes that feel like hrs. Im grateful your dx w/ vertigo and I’m glad it is only that. YOU GOT THIS! ➡️Do your best to take inflammatory foods out of your diet gradually and low sodium over time is helpful, it’s the best thing long term. Stress is a huge trigger. Be kind and let yourself sleep after an episode it drains your body physically. Also you will start to understand things that are your triggers. Have they done the tilt back and turn your head test? The best news it could loose crystals and there are PT options to help put them back into place. I myself have the kind that I don’t have the prior mentioned. I’m 38y/o ( it comes suddenly for most ppl) at age 23 I was dx. So please let me walk along side you so you can glean what is true from the chaos on the internet looking for answer like I did back then. 🙏🏻☺️
