I love your tree :) I have an “orphan” tree - just bare branches covered with snow and some smalls hanging there. I have the same problem as you do: mo space, but a huge desire to stitch more. Sometimes it overwhelms me but more and more I think that my pleasure and my comfort is a process of stitching - nothing else matters :) ❤️
@recoveringmonogamousstitch1947
Natalia, I love your comment. Thank you so much. It is a serious dilemma, so much to stitch, but no space. We have to love our stitching. Stay well. Best, K

It was kind of those who let you know about the missing leaf. I have found out if I take a photo of something I’m stitching, I can find mistake easier for some reason.🤷🏼‍♀️ don’t know why that helps me. Great idea!!! Oldest WIP is ‘ Focus piece’. Oh my, I’m in the same boat…. To many Christmas charts🥺 Just started following you on IG 😊
@recoveringmonogamousstitch1947
Thank you so much for your kind reply. I will try to remember your tip about taking a photo to check for mistakes. Brilliant! My system of using my oldest WIP as my focus has really worked for me. I like getting my projects done. I don't want to have an 'under the bed box.' Stay well. Best, K
@barbolivieri-soshesewsquil4867
Your tree idea is very creative! You weren't kidding when you spoke about the storms! I live in Western NY, we are buried under 4+ feet of snow! It's Tuesday and we still haven't been with family to celebrate Christmas! Our driving bans were lifted today and have been in place since Saturday! But, it's a typical Buffalo snowstorm lol Hope you fared well! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
@recoveringmonogamousstitch1947
Oh wow! Barb, I feel for you. I am familiar with 'lake effect' snow levels, having grown up on the shore of Lake Michigan. Buffalo beats everyone else for snow amounts. Hopefully you will be able to be with family soon. Best to you and you family in the new year. Best, K

A Flosstuber ‘stitching by the shore’ has a very interesting way of displaying some of her projects. Laura is making some of her stitches in to journal pages & displaying them in albums. She is also an ex paper crafter. Again, doesn’t have loads of display space & likes the process of stitching so not everything is about displaying on walls. I’m going to have a go at this next year, but in the uk we don’t have big paper crafting/journaling suppliers. Love your videos. Happy holidays. 🎄
@recoveringmonogamousstitch1947
Thank you for sharing that information about someone with little display space. I will check this out. Stay well. Best, K

Hello Karen, it’s so nice to see you again. Your Christmas tree is darling. I think you will come up with the perfect plan for your twenty samplers, they will be slated and, before you know it, slayed. Here’s hoping you and your Mr Enabler will be safe and well through the weather. Merry Christmas…Thanks again.
@recoveringmonogamousstitch1947
Thank you so much! I have my plan. I won't get 20 finished in a year, but many of them will get finished. I'll see you in the new year. Stay warm. Best, K

Karen - I've seen lots of people with sampler walls (and I'm working on mine). Maybe you'll have to make a Christmas wall back in Kentucky so you can get to see all of your beautiful holiday pieces.
@recoveringmonogamousstitch1947
Susan, Thank you so much for your comment on my video. I think you are right. I will definitely have to have more display space for Christmas than is available in a double-wide mobile home. See you in a couple weeks. Best, K

Great to see you again. We had blizzard winds last night and a bit of snow, but sun is out now and wind has ceased. Don't you wish we could blink all the patterns finished, or at least a few of them. If only they would stop producing gorgeous patterns every day now. Great WIP's. Stay warm.
@recoveringmonogamousstitch1947
Thanks for the comment, Julia. So many patterns, so little time. We all face the same problem. I'm just limiting myself on Christmas patterns, I didn't say anything about any others. Ha. Stay warm. Best, K

Saw the bluejays today in the tree, always reminds me of my mum, her fav bird so I chat to them,mum and dad. You have been busy! They look great! Well you can switch out the different christmas ones every yr and some can be winter too. Oh Sarah at sarahs stitchy spot just finished the reindeer it’s adorable. We are hoping to get to the city an hr and bit, to our kids but will see. We are getting high hurricane force winds and rain tonight and tomorrow, sunday may bring sushy ice so we will see. And next door will have key in case we got stuck and we are eating a late lunch so we can be on road before dark. Merry Christmas and hope your pipes don’t freeze!

Cindy, Please be safe in the winter weather! I am happy to know that we enjoy the same kind of stitching. Thanks so much for sharing. Enjoy the holidays. Best, K

So love seeing that gorgeous quilt again, and your tree and all the ornaments are so pretty. I like that it's not the traditional tree, but is elegant and can happily go through all the seasons. Your stitching is beautiful, particularly loved the red bird sampler. You've certainly got a lot of Christmas stitching ahead of you lol. Karen, hope you had a wonderful (and not too chilly) Christmas, and all the best in the new year :)
@recoveringmonogamousstitch1947
Thank you so much for your sweet comment. I love that tree too. As of today, I have removed the Santas and added snowmen and snowflakes. Not very Florida-like, but I enjoy it. We had power and heat throughout the cold spell, so all was fine. Stay well. Best to you and your family for the new year.

I see someone has already recommended watching Laura's flosstube Stitching by the Shore where she is creating scrapbooks for her stitching as opposed to displaying them. I think she has some fairly recent videos dedicated to just this topic. I think this is a great way to pass down the stitching to our families without giving them a ton of bulky objects to deal with. Scrapbooking keeps it all in a compact spot which family members can pull from in the future if they desire. I'm really starting to be more careful with what I purchase to stitch too. I've got to keep it realistic. Goodness knows I've got enough here to keep me stitching for years! 😆 Hope you have a Merry Christmas and the cold doesn't get too bad!
@recoveringmonogamousstitch1947
Maureen, Thank you so much for your kind comment on my video. I am getting older and really thinking about what will be left behind. My kids and grandkids need to speak up and let me know what they do/do not want. Happy holidays. Best, K

Merry Christmas, Karen! I just ordered Christmas at Hollyberry Farm. So pretty! What fabric are you using for it? I love the vintage look of yours. ❤
@recoveringmonogamousstitch1947
I am using 36 ct. linen, Oaken by Picture This Plus. If I had realized how large this finishes, I would have used 40 ct. Either way, it is a beautiful stitch. Happy Holidays. Best, K

I'm stting up a Planner for 2023 and My Christmas Eve & Day stitching plans will be to do BB's book, the back cover one, Tis the Season. Nice work! I add 1 Christmas small / ornament now per month so I have a bunch Done by the end of the year. It's so nice that designers put Freebies out there, but I mostly stick to doing my purchased charts. I think the majority of my charts are Christmas, so I'm trying real hard not to buy any for a while. Nice tree w/ pretty finishes!! Cool Haul. Supposed to trickle the water from a faucet overnight to keep pipes from freezing, and Maybe keep heat in the house set at a higher temp. 🎄Merry Christmas!
@recoveringmonogamousstitch1947
Dee, Thanks for stopping by again. It is a problem to have so many patterns that we love. We can buy them much faster than we can stitch them. Thanks for the tip about letting water trickle from the faucet to keep from freezing. Will try it. Best, K

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!🌲. Kristy from Daisy Kay Primitives had a good idea for samplers... start a new one each month and work on it the whole month and then finish the next year in that month if not complete ...it gives you an opportunity to work on other things too !!

Thank you for sharing Kristy's idea for starting samplers. I will seriously consider that when laying out my plans for next year. Stay well. Best, K
