Your mermaid looks wonderful already, and that fabric is amazing. She'll be even more spectacular once all the beads are on. That was very relaxing, stitching along while you beaded. Your oceanography course sounds wonderful. I laughed at your barracuda story, sorry lol. I've snorkeled very close to shore, and also dive, and have found them to be very curious fish. They look like they're from prehistoric times, and with all those teeth lined up. I've had them follow me but never had problems. They like sparkly stuff (just like we do) so silver or jewellery will catch their eye, so I never wore bling in the water. I can also relate to your jelly fish story. They are no fun at all (and I feel for you about the mosquitos too). One place I dived had tiny thimble jellies that floated close to the surface, so the idea was to get down below them as soon as possible. Was creepy to know you're going through a field of jellies that you can't see but that see and want to nibble on you. Definitely best not meeting them at all. Take care, and happy stitching.

Hi Laurie. What thread do you use for beading? Because I hate that nylon beading thread, but I can’t get anything else through the thin beading needle eye.
I had a trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos with my school and it was very similar. There were a couple non science majors who were basically useless and there for a party. 😂
