Love love love, your stitchery projects. I,m going back some 60 yrs ago,I had no favorite Halloween costume as a child, there was 6 of us kids in our family. Mom would just dress us up by putting things from around the house on us,give us a pillow case to collect our treats. It was so exciting and fun. I,m originally from the prairies in Saskatchewan,so,sometimes it was very cold and snow, never stopped us.
Hi my name is Robert and I'm from Olympia, WA I started crossstitching in Thailand about 8 years ago I'm not real good but I am enthusiastic Thank you for letting me join your group
Love your mermaids. They are stunning. Really didn’t do much trick or treating as a child. But I do love to see the kids all dressed up for Halloween. ❤️❤️
Just found your channel today and I am loving all of your stitching, on video 4 now! Oooo the Petal Fairy, I understand what you mean about how easy it is to stitch, I completed it many years ago, I have it framed on the wall in my lounge, it is also one of my favourite stitches and it is always a joy to look at.
Samantha, I really have been enjoying your channel. Your stitching projects are absolutely beautiful. I have recently restarted cross stitch after a 40 year break. I’m blown away by all of the paraphernalia that is available now plus the sharing of the floss tube channel stitchers. I live in South Carolina and couldn’t even imagine all the snow you all get. Looking forward to watching future videos. Bye, Ann
Thank you for your comments Ann! I’m glad to here you are stitching again and glad I could keep you company while you stitch!! I hope you will come back again soon xxxx -Samantha 🦋
I have enjoyed your flosstube so much! Your fairies are breath taking! In the nineties I had stitched a couple of Lavender and Lace "fancy ladies" and thought they were so beautiful. These newer designs are gorgeous. Thank you for sharing. Halloween is one holiday I look forward to as my birthday is October's 30th and my sister's is October 31st! We are 4 years apart. My favorite costume was the one I wore in 1st grade. I dressed up as a princess and wore a beautiful little blue mask. I don't remember costumes of hero figures, movie characters and etc. I was just a beautiful princess from the land of my imagination. :)
Samantha, your Petal and Bliss Fairies are indeed showstoppers. If you end up hanging them over your bed facing each other, they will form a heart, and I’m sure your beautiful stitching came straight from the heart! My favorite costume as a child was, drum roll, a fairy! My Mom made the dress and my Dad covered cardboard wings with aluminum foil. They made that Halloween my very favorite of all!
Hi. Your stitching and your Stella are all so pretty. My favorite Halloween costumes are Uncle Sam & a hobo. Two very different but equally fun Halloween nights.
Your pretty lady cross stitch pieces are so beautiful!! My favorite Halloween costume when I was a kid was a clown costume that my sister-in-law sewed for me. I wore it a few years in a row. My mom wasn’t crafty but my sister-in-law sewed and she was the one who taught me. My goal was to marry a man whose mother was crafty and she could teach me how to do all the crafts. Yeah, that didn’t happen but I did manage to teach myself all the crafts anyway. Happy stitching!
I am from the UK and 62 years old, we never celebrated Halloween 🎃 so I never dressed up for it. Bonfire night was when we all went out inviting the neighbours having baked potatoes and homemade vegetable soup. I hated those cracker Jack's that when lit jumped along the ground. Love your Mirabillas, so very pretty 😍
I grew up in the 50's in rural North Carolina. There was no Halloween costume or "trick or treating" in my community. Love your finishes and wips. I think it would be absolutely wonderful to work in a cross stitch store. I would probably spend all my paycheck there
Thank you for another wonderful video. I live in Australia. I'm also an 80s kid. Sadly Halloween isn't something we celebrated. However, things have changed and Halloween is more widely recognised here. Now I have my own kids who love to go out trick or treating which is great fun.
Halloween was one of my fav times of the year because of the candy. My fav costume was a witch because i would use the hat as a halloween bag when my other one got to full.
Those Mirabelia pieces are just amazing!! And Yes, I remember Rainbow Brite as you must be about the age of my children!! I was a child of the 60s and we put on those horrid plastic masks and went door to door. Trick or Treating was not such a big deal then. I grew up in the country and we had to drive to friends and neighbors homes. I am watching you from north Alabama in the USA. Right now I am working on Winter Rose Manor which is deceptive...looks like it would not take long to stitch but it does take quite a while.
@@HyggeStitcher I used the DMC conversion as I could not find many of the overdid flosses when I started it. I am happy with it. I also went with white instead of roasted Marshmallow.
Awesome projects! I especially like the Petal Fairy...first time I've seen that one completely finished. I do have her in my stash....and should get started stitching! :-) I think that every year for Halloween I was a witch...though I may have been Raggedy Anne one year? Can't remember....for me it was all about who had the most candy at the end of the night! lol! I'm also an 80's child... fun stuff! :-)
Favorite Halloween costume was when I was a cheerleader but it was a Barbie costume so it was hot pink and beautiful and i remember dressing up in it all throughout the next year lol
Nora Corbett is the Mirabilia Designer while her mother is Marilyn Levitt Imblum is the designer of Lavander and Lace and Told in a Garden.. I have stitched almost all their patterns in my 29 years of stitching. They're my favorite designers.
My favorite halloween costume was... a mad scientist! My stepdad brought home a bright green labcoat and we made my hair stick up with gel and put charcoal all over my hair and face like there was an explosion :)
I’m a 50’s child….Halloween is still my favorite holiday…..my favorite Halloween 🎃 costume was an all light-pink Ballerina 🩰 Costume that my Mother made for me….I was invited to a Halloween Party at a local church and actually ‘won’ best costume….I was thrilled to say the least❣️ love Your Videos and Your sweet & happy personality,,,,,❤️
I loved Halloween as a child. My favorite costume was Cousin It from the Adams Family. I had long hair down to my waist which I combed over the front, had dark glasses, old hat and my friend had an old fur coat that I wore backwards. Nobody knew me at all. Lots of fun.
I would so love to stitch a Hawk Run Hollow one of these days. Months? Years? :-) My favorite Halloween costume was a gypsy outfit. It was really fun. But my all time favorite was a costume my mom sewed up for my sister. It was a dress with a hoop like a Southern Belle would wear. My mom put up my sister's hair and put flowers in her hair and she was so so beautiful. That is my happiest Halloween memory.
Great video❤️. I love your enthusiasm about our choice of hobby. You have a dream job, how wonderful to see everything come in. Wondering if you buy all the fun patterns, thread etc. with your earnings? I wouldn't have any wages to bring home lol. We didn't dress up when I was young although I do remember when we were on holiday at a holiday camp and one of the contests was to make a costume. Luckily enough my middle sister had to stand there(she was around ten years old). We ended up blowing up loads of purple coloured balloons and made here a bunch of grapes lol. I believe she won lol. Have a great stitchy month? Love seeing your past stitches😁. I'm starting two Mirabelia's Raven Queen and blank, sorry mind freeze lol. Take care🤗
I hold back every shift to buy more haha!!! Truth is helping others find new projects brings me a ton of joy!!! I love it ❤️thank you for watching and see you again very soon 😍
Another awesome video Samantha…the fairies are adorable…my mother made my favorite Halloween costume, fashioned after a southern belle…your plans are so you…wishing you joy and happy stitching ✂️🔆🪡🧵❤️
For some reason, I don't actually remember any of my childhood Halloween costumes. However, I too am a child of the '80s, and one year I dressed my daughter "to the nines" in 80's fashion. She wore a cross-backed "skort" romper that was black with teal, purple and white paintbrush strokes. Since she had long straight hair with no bangs, I gave her a high side pony with a big, matching crocheted "scrunchy". I teased, scrunched, and sprayed it big time. Then I put her in a pair of her teal baseball socks, topped with a pair of thick white socks, and slouched them down, one above the other. The shoes were black canvas flats with no laces. Teal eyeliner, thick mascara, and frosted purple lips.🤣 In the end, she just kept asking, "Why?, Why?" I told her to go show her dad, and all he had to say was, "You look like your mother when I met her". LMAO, I had so much fun with that one! Stay safe and stitch happy.
Hello Larretta, I so enjoyed reading your comment! Thank you so much for watching my channel and I do hope you will return for another visit the next time you need some company while you stitch! Until Then Take Care. - Samantha
Your fairies are gorgeous! I would love you to show us them once they are framed and hung on your wall. My memories of Halloween are vague, but I do remember one year my mother dressing all five of us kids as ghosts, white sheets! It must have been a year when she got new sheets for our beds!
Things I learned from your video today. 1- How to say Hygge. 2- You are a bright and happy soul 3-My favorite Halloween costume was probably being a cheerleader. halloween
So glad to see you back ❣️❣️❣️ No need to stay away so long 😊 My favorite Halloween costume was as an adult. When my daughter was in kindergarten, I would help in the classroom a few days a week. On Halloween that year I dressed up as a scarecrow!!! No one, including my daughter knew it was me…until I spoke. The little girl I spoke to said “Jennifer, that’s your mama!!!” I had been there for a couple of hours before I actually spoke. It was so much fun and my daughter was thrilled. Hope to see you again SOON!!! ~jeanne~🪡🧵🪡
Love your videos and finishes! My favorite halloween costume from childhood was Baby Bop from Barney. It was a home made costume from my aunt :-) Thanks for sharing!
Great video! I love your enthusiasm . . . . my Halloween costumes growing up were pretty uninspired . . . but I once made a rainbow unicorn My Little Pony costume for my daughter that was awesome :)
Love the border tip. I am sooooo much older than you and growing up we just had mostly makeshift Halloween costumes. I seem to have been a hobo every year of my life. Don’t know if it was my favorite exactly but it’s just what we did.
Your fairies are beautiful! I don't have a favorite Halloween costume from when I was a kid... I remember my parents would always wait until right before Halloween when the costumes went on sale & most of the fun ones I liked were gone... but one of my favorites from my own kids was the year my two boys were Mike & Sully from Monster's Inc. They were adorable!
Halloween is my favorite time of year! So much so my husband and I got married in October. Growing up my favorite costume was a mermaid costume my Mom made out of paper plates all spray painted to look like a mermaid tail.
Thanks so much for your wonderful Flosstubes! I was able to go back and watch from the beginning and realized that we my share a Birthday Week…mine is the 6th. So, belated happy birthday 🎉. Wish you could record your more often, but I remember that live can be hectic. Until next month, have a great Halloween!
Beautiful beautiful stitching. Growing up in the 50's and 60's we had to make our own Halloween costumes. Most times we used what little makeup our mom's had, painted our face and walked the neighborhood. Great memories. Not saying I was any part of this 🙄but we might have borrowed a little toilet paper from wherever we could. 🤣
Hi Samantha ~ GORRERRRRRGEOUS stitching ! Those Fairies are Absolutely JAW DROPPING worthy !!!!!!!!!! BRAVA !!!! A Wonderful visit - you are Such a delight ! My favorite Halloween costume as a child was the Wolf in Little Red Riding Hood. Mother had purchased the Costumes from FAO Schwartz in the 60's, The felted red vest, the wolf head with faux fur mane, the huge , thick tail that was faux fur, too - the costume was SO cool ! She had Little Red's costume too, but I Loved the SCARRRRRY wolf ! I always got A LOOOT of candy ( ^ ; * ) ~ All the best. marcia
I'm not much for dressing up, but I loved making Halloween costumes for my kids. My favorite was the year my daughter was a mermaid. I used foam and crafted a rock and then the beautiful tail with gems and sequins draped across the base.
Greetings from Seattle, Washington! Your fairies are so beautiful!!! And I agree that the roses on your friends Alice in Wonderland piece are amazing! I appreciated the counting tip on the border when you showed your Hawk Run Hollow piece. That surely should help a lot! I don’t really recall a favorite Halloween costumn when I was a child. The only costume I remember was dressing up like a doll one year. The costume was super simple (a dress from my closet), but I remember having big pink circles made out of lipstick for my cheeks. Happy stitching!!
Happy Halloween! 🎃 Definitely rocking all the hygge accoutrement in our home today... and always. My family didn't celebrate when I was a kid, but as an adult I love to be a witch or a little devil the most. 🧙♀️😈
Thank you so much Mel! A Canadian Floss Tuber to watch is lovely :) I'm on Vancouver Island BC. My first Halloween that I recall is when I was 5 in 1969 and my mom dressed me up as Little Bo Peep. Hugs
Your Mirabilia’s are beautiful! Nora Corbett’s mom did design, but she had her own companies (Lavender and Lace, Told in a Garden, and Butternut Road). I think Mirabilia has always been Nora Corbett. Thanks for sharing your work!
I so enjoy your videos and all of your projects. I have been inspired by you to try a Nora Corbett pattern. I have had Cleo in my cart at 123 stitch since you showed her in video #2. I ordered her and everything to stitch. I can not wait to receive her. Will stitch along with your Halloween start. Thank you 😊
Thank you for sharing your finished Mirabilia they are beautiful. I have a bucketlist to stitch one of Liz Mathews and her mom Kathy Barrack. Hope that you and your family have a Happy Halloween.
Been here since video 2. I'm from Cape Town, South Africa... So much of what you show isn't readily available here, so I live vicariously 😍... Love your taste in stitchy stuff!
Love your Mira finishes they are just beautiful💕 probably my favorite Halloween costume from being young was Cinderella! My Mom made me a ball gown with all the sparkles and the tiara and the whole thing it was simply beautiful! Have a blessed day❤️👻❤️
Your stitching is amazing. I just purchased my first Mirabiia, The Snow Maiden by Nora Corbett. I'm looking forward to stitching this. I hope it's not too complicated. I will take my time. Halloween was a fun time with my brothers. We would make our own costumes. My favorite was being a hobo with a stick and a cloth bag attached to it. We also did our own makeup.
Great video! Your stitching is beautiful and those Fairies are lovely. Happy to hear that your new job is going so well and you are so excited to be working there. Happy Stitching!
What an adorable puppy.! Your energy should be bottled and sold, it is a joy to watch you. My favourite Halloween costume would have to be a hobo. It was fun to be in loose clothing, since it always seemed to be so cold at that time of year in Ontario, you could wear layers underneath.
Oh I remember my Halloween days as a child. I have more than two memories of costumes...one where my skirt looked like a rainbow...and one where my mask was paper made and made directly to fit my face....can't remember the design of my mask, but I can sure remember the cool wetness of the paper and water paste! That was as much fun as wearing the mask when it dried.
You get so much done on your stitching. I am such a slow stitcher in comparison. But I love each stitch. I am currently working on The Witch's Garden for Halloween. My favorite costume was being a witch. My brother used to paint my face green and give me worts. I even won first prize for my costume when I was about 8 or 9 years old. I remember loving the huge teddy bear but knowing it was thanks to my big brother. Happy Halloween! 🎃
Love your Mirabilia's! Halloween is only a few short days away. I am old enough where I can honestly say I don't remember a favorite costume or even what I wore.
