Ohhh my head just exploded!! 😂🙈 I want to stitch ALL OF IT! Now I just have to find a nice black that I wan to work with. Thank you for all the work you did showing these options. Love
awesome video Stacey! So much eye candy! So nice to see so many beautiful designers featured! Cant wait to start Black November. I have chosen a chart from my cd of Sampler and antique needlework magazine The 1826 Edcina Pieters sampler. I will try to email you a photo for more eye candy!
Thanks for being such an enabler! I just bought Dilemma by Long Dog Samplers, two colors of Sulky thread and Doubloon by Picture this Plus! I'm going to be in the poor house!
Thank you Stacy for another well done video! I really enjoyed your suggestions for charts and I found that I had several in my stash already! I am looking forward to selecting one for Black Sampler November!
Thanks so much for showing all these black samplers. There are so many beautiful ones. I have the Kathy Barrick sampler and think I will work on this one. I wanted to try the anchor floss that comes on a spool and this would be the perfect time.
Thanks for sharing all those black samplers and those that can be stitched in black. A very informative video indeed. Love your Sampler collection. Will try to join Sampler November. Stay safe Stacy ❤
Oh my goodness, you did so much work. I love it all, so many ideas and charts. I plan on joining Black Sampler November. Now I just need to decide 😜 thanks again for all the ideas.
Hi Stacy! This was such a fun video! This is my first visit on your channel and now I'm excited to go watch your old ones. I had seen some of these before and got a good refresher of those patterns, and saw some neat new ones, too. Thanks! Happy stitching!
What a fantastic video. It was so inspiring to see all of the possibilities for black sampler November. The sad thing is, I want to stitch all of them. 😩
Oh my goodness what a fantastic overview of options!! My heart is racing and I want to purchase so many of the charts that you featured… I absolutely love samplers with black thread and now I am completely baffled as to which one to start. Thank you thank you thank you for pulling out all of your collection to share. I think some of the larger ones are my favorites but I would have to commit to years of stitching to get them done😍 Who knows though I might just start one😊
As always, your video has so much information in it. I had to get out a paper and pencil to take notes. Beautiful charts. I can’t wait to see what everyone is stitching!
Thank you so much for sharing all of these charts! I need to pick one for black sampler November. Looking forward to seeing your Halloween episode. I look forward to watching you every week! Happy Stitching!
Great video! I'm not a sampler stitcher but YT was playing automatically for me yesterday afternoon and this is one of the videos it chose. ...I just purchased my first Modern Folk Embroidery design. Fun fact: he also has three beautiful freebies on his site! Thanks for the work that you put in to this beautiful presentation. 💜
There is an article on bristol orphan samplers saying while most were stitched using 1 color, red was the most popular but they also used blue or green. I think black would work just fine
So happy that you discovered my channel, so that I could discover yours! You have got me so excited to try Black Sampler November! I haven’t had much interest in samplers until now! Thanks for sharing! Now let me go binge your videos 😂❤️❤️
Oh dear Stacy, you have totally enabled me here big time!! I had no interest in black samplers until watching this. Now I must join in! Now to decide which one - it will either be the MFE Poe, or a LDS! Fantastic video.
You knocked it out of the park on this video! You are amazing at explaining clearly and encouraging ideas and getting information out to us in stitching land. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into each video. I have lots of notes and a long wish list!
Great job putting together this presentation. Fascinating that you already had the smaller version of The Big Red Ship I figured out today I have 17,000 stitches left of over 60,000 for The Big Red Ship of Life. About 11,000 that is left is the borders which I’ve put off. My goal is to finish it this year. I am going to finish it like a quilted tapestry wall hanging rather than framing it. It will be about 27” x 32” finished with fabric borders. I will definitely send you a pic of the final product. My husband wanted to watch this since he was involved in sending you the photo. He was impressed.
Hello my beautiful friend, oh my stars! This was a wonderful walk through Black samplers. I am hooked. Some are charming, some stunningly beautiful. I sure appreciate all the thoughtful preparation you had to do to prepare and research this video. It was a pleasure to sit this evening and listen and watch. Thanks so much for putting this together. Yes, you enabled me! Happy Stitching, your friend, Daleen
I know this is one of your old videos from last year, but I have Permin of Copenhagen sampler I stitched, in black of course, to about 80% done in 1999 and pulled it out in 2020 and finished it. It doesn't have a name on it, I bought it at my local needle shop back then. It us huge and looks very similar to that last one you showed from the magazine and also similar to that Long Dog one Spirit of Verlander- maybe if those 2 had a baby it would look like mine, lol! This has been the only black one I have done, but now I am stitching Rosetta by Ink Circles in black to go with it. The old one is on a natural linen, Rosetta is being done on Red Pear linen by Weeks Dye Works and the black is just, chef's kiss on it! Just wanted to say Rosetta is another good all black candidate. Happy stitching!
I loved this video so much! You have completely changed my mind!!! I always thought black samplers were so boring, but you have me convinced I am wrong! Definitely want to try a few samplers that you showed. I think you’re working on a cranberry sampler? You’re using variegated floss for it. I’ve been meaning to ask for you to explain how you fussy stitch variegated floss? Maybe in your upcoming floss video? It’s laid out beautifully!
What a great display of charts…so many ideas of cross stitch in black! I will have to do the crow sampler in November with Anchor black. Thank you for sharing your many creative ideas with us!
Hi, Stacy! I always enjoy your videos and topics so much. You bring something different to the table, and your spirit is so genuine. Just wanted to let you know that you enabled me on A Year In Silhouettes. What a beautiful and unique sampler! I may do it as smalls, or do it without the large alphabet section. Thank you for all you do, it’s most appreciated! Have a blessed week! 🖤 Meline
I just won ye old crow… I get my second cataract done mid nov. I so want to stitch! Lol another Quaker that’s a free chart. Fb linen and threads (fox and rabbit) their 2020 or ee 2019 was a quaker.they are usually still on page. It was a fun stitch.
Oh my what beautiful patterns. I thought I would not like the black work, but after seeing all the beautiful charts I have changed my mind. I am going to do some black work. A great video...
Great video! I don't consider myself a "sampler" stitcher but I definitely saw several that I will have to look at more closely! Thanks for all of the great info!
Interesting video on Black Samplers. I cannot imagine ABC Tapestry done in black. I finished it years ago and did it in four shades of green with one thread. In order for all of the figures to show up it needs a lighter color. I am not on social media but will e-mail you a picture of my finish soon.
when i started watching this video i thought isn't November dark and dreary enough without stitching on black samplers. well you have changed my mind i have never done a sampler but they are all beautiful and i might be tempted to do one, watch this space ha ha
This was such a great video on black sampler stitching. I am going to have to watch it again this afternoon, when I'm stitching and creating to write down some of these amazing charts. Thanks so much!
What a fabulous video Stacy! I can’t wait for November - I’m restarting Ann Grimshaw (for the third time!) I’m so pleased you are going to stitch Nessie and that she is so special to you. Much love ❤️
