Too bad you can't "flash" cure resin when you are doing the resin pour art. I know there is someone online who uses a UV resin and it does cure it a bit faster. I'm not sure if that would work or not, but seeing Evan doing his first pour made me wonder about the UV resin and controlling a pattern once you see one you like, like "flash" curing just that area, then working with the rest of the pour. I wish I could afford enough resin to test the idea out.
I want to see them making their kids stuff :D (it would be also cute Katelyn pregnant doing stuff and Evan saying: take care, wait, the baby, I'll take it, owwwwn)
Love the stream. Definitely great idea posting it. Its so nice to just turn on and watch it. I think i watch the uncut more then i do the main channel videos😅 i love just...listening to yall. It's great
It would have been cool to see you guys press a canvas onto the drips from your previous pours and see what you get. All of those colors look beautiful together!
Please don't think "we've done that before" when you're thinking you want to make a video for the main channel. If you have a new project you want to make with a technique you did, as far as I'm concerned that's new and if you want to make it a video, make it a video. I don't watch because "it has to be new every time", I watch because "E&K are fun to see and their ideas are cool" and that'll be true even if you've done the technique before.
i think it’s like redoing fluid art vs doing spin art (and yes ik they have done spin art, this would be in a different universe where the haven’t) another reason they wouldn’t want to put it on their main channel would be bc it is a stream and bc they aren’t comfortable enough with the equipment, but other than that i agree
Wait but I would love a collab between you guys and royalty soaps! Also cold process isn’t quite as scary as you think, as long as you research first and are knowledgeable about the safety concerns, making some basic cold process soap is pretty fun. Only thing is getting into it isn’t the cheapest, but I could see you guys making your own soap mold out of scrap wood to save money. My sister and I make cold process soap for our small business and we’ve gotten some free stuff off of FB marketplace and theirs was handmade and definitely worked as beginners equipment
Just want to add aswell, paint pouring is abstract expressionism, so what ever your heart tells you to do is all part of the art! Even if you think you ruined it, there will be plenty of people that think it's perfect the way it is, because it came from your heart! Xoxox
I really get the warm fuzzies when Evan will be so supportive of her vision that he's ready to just hold her hair during delicate operations. That little "Teamwork" jingle feels as wholesome as apple pie. I love watching your videos, especially because it makes me feel better when I do something like forget to plug in my camera.
I really liked the drop cloth/plastic! Next time you do this, you should put a piece of plywood or something under instead of plastic and then you could catch that paint and make something maybe accidentally wonderful 😍
As someone from Texas and someone subscribed to ALL your channels Evan and Katelyn I would absolutely explode with joy if you guys worked with Katie from royalty soaps. As soon as I heard you guys mention her channel I screamed. 💕
Hey Evan and Katelyn! Just a tip to make cells really pop like you see in tutorials, use silicone drops. Cheapest option is using wd40 (the spray you use to loosen grime and rust - it contains silicone and works amazingly and is cheaper than silicone drops).
Cracking is caused by drying time. It dried to fast. I've done a lot of pours and in my experience having a lot of paint (not overflowing) during the pour is helpful. The swipe method works well with silicone because its will create cells.
whoa, it feels so weird to watch them making Video Projects in a Video Setting but doing and saying Stream Stuff lol i don’t know if i’m weird but my brain is having some trouble putting those two separate E&Ks together :P that being said i’m REALLY enjoying this format. it feels like i’m there with you!
*e&k doing acrylic pours in their garage:* oh thank you [username] for the bits, and thank you [username] for the ten gifted subs!! *me:* wait... that’s not... that doesn’t usually happen in the videos!!!!!!!!!!!
So I just found ya’ll. I love painting and love when people find new purposes for older items. Also love that you are doing new things. One of the painters that I think that you would like is Smart Art Materials (S.A.M) she does a lot of different styles. With Evan liking galaxy some of her new videos could inspire you!
I've seen people put down paper or wood shapes under the edges of the canvas to catch the runoff and it gets cool pour colors in their own right. That'd be fun to see you guys do next time.
Ahh it was so cool to be so early for that livestream! It was great to watch you figure out the intro and show off your setup. You guys are streaming on a whole new level. Satisfying paint stream. I loved this so much. 💚💚
Evans rainbow one, right after he does the alcohol drops, reminds me of fireworks at a pride parade. Then when he tilts it, it reminds me of a rainbow planet
I know how that feels - be sure to check multiple areas in your stores, mine don't always stock everything equally. So the paint dept might get gloves, but the pharmacy area might not, or they could be over in the automotive section, etc. Used to be I'd just have to check them all because even the prices were slightly different, but these days it is a scavenger hunt just to find any on the shelf at all.
Hanging canvas panel: Hot glue small thin strips of cardboard (like a shadowbox) on the back. That way the canvas panel has some depth with the wall when you hang it.
I think next time when you do the pour other then having a canvas under all your pours you could lightly flood an extra canvas and and press it on all the dripps you had! Might look real cool :) Greetings from UK :)
Idea suggestion, What if you guys either take some of your Flow Acrylic paintings (Like Evans rainbow one since it doesn't have as much interesting cells as the others or Katelyn's dripped piece) and once all dry use paint markers or just paint brushes to paint some design or images on top. Or you could just make new ones for this purpose. My first thought was to paint Joob in her space suit on top of Evans rainbow flow painting.
You needed a couple of drops of silicone oil in your colors - and none in the background color. Especially when doing swipes (swipe the unoiled background color over the oiled colors) :) And then hit it quickly with a torch to pop bubbles and bring out more cells.
Knowing how much fun y'all have had with fire in the past, I'm surprised you don't take the opportunity for a little pyrotechnics and use a torch to enhance your cells :) I'm curious if you end up with a lot of warp on these canvas boards once they dry? I had to switch to stretched canvases because the boards just warped too much from all the liquid.
For the "dirty pour" (what you're doing it's a flip cup I think) you need to do it without the nozzle, as it's injecting the paint all the way to the bottom (the higher you pour the paint, the lower it will go in the cup), you need to do it a bit more gentle, also you could use a skewer to create some marble of the colors
You should do an acrylic pour and then hang it upside down like the painted side facing the table as it dries so when it’s dries you’ll have a 3D painting. Like the painting drips dry and give the canvas cool texture
My god, i LOVE your guys acylics pours!!! Im very interested in trying to acrylic pour and im trying to get better (can't make any cells) so this is right up my alley =))) Also, acrylic pours are so facinating and prettyyyyyy. Its gorgeous. Love you two! You are very talented and a great pair =D Have a wonderful day!
For the swipe generally you have to *gently* damp the paper/paper towel, so it drags the paint easier, also the use of a "torch" to pop bubbles and help the cells be brought up to life (I would suggest one of the best pours [and art in general] channel: MKL GRM Fine Art, they make it so much fun, and Michael's voice is so soothing that reminds me of Bob Ross, but in a German style lol.. edit: he speaks English on his videos, you REALLY REALLY need to watch his videos, he also does artsy things with resin, so you would ♥ Michael and Patrick)
Great painting setup!! 👏 The rainbow order is amazing!!🌈 Awesome gear!! Chain pulls with different types of chains or strings could be cool(think dungeon chain! 😉😂🤣) Metallics and iridescent paints are really amazing! Let us see the dried results? 🙏 Wrecking pours are a lot of fun!! 💖💖
Weird question...how do you keep your background lights from not blowing out? I have an edison bulb that is just a yellow glow when I do a video. Also, love these vids!
When they set it up they turned it down super super dim I’m sure in the real life it looks very weak. That’s usually the trick. Dim it while you look at it through a camera instead of judging by eye
Katelyn: My love, carefully consider the placement... Evan: I am, I want them to be haphazardly random. Katelyn: [silently fuming] Me: [can't stop laughing]
I just now saw the community thingy you posted on your main channel and I'm now subscribed to you on both channels now!!! Yay more Evan and Katelyn in my life!!!!!!!!
