Flower Power (Dedicated to Tom Petty), Greta Van Fleet, BBT Pavilion, Camden, New Jersey; October 7th, 2017; Rock Allegiance Festival, (Philadelphia area)
My youngest son hung out with the twins in high school. They would come over spend the night and jam in my basement. They are a good group of kids and mid michigan is very proud of GVF. Rock on boys. Hook up with Wesley when you guys are back in town.
Joe Bostwick I'm also from Frankenmuth. I'm proud to know these guys are from my home town. They seem like great (moral, small town) guys too. I hope they keep those roots and don't fall into some of the darker and harder roads other rock bands travel down.
When Rush was hitting the airwaves back in the day people were comparing the vocals to Zep,then Rush just did their own thing and now.....they are in the R n R hall of fame. GVF will find their way....enjoy the ride people!
Dartagnan Dumas we here in Michigan take pride in our talent and their ability to keep churning out the good stuff for the rest of you nationwide peeps! Recently Greta Van Fleet & Wayland 💯 another very amazing band who's making a huge mark in Rock, and had a hand in Greta Van Fleets journey ✌😎
These guys are fucking flawless, man. What a breath of fresh air in today’s music world. So glad to hear a band with such great influences bring their own thing to what was once a dead genre.
They F'ing rock!!! Wish I could see them in concert, damn. Old school hippies love this group as much as young peeps. Their talent speaks to how much they can reach music lovers
People complain about them sounding or acting too much like Led Zeppelin. Who cares? It's great music and it's not the autotuned crap that has been on the radio for far too long. These guys are helping bring back ROCK................. ROCK ON, GVF
I'm 58 and grew up listening to all the great rock bands. I'm totally stoked to see these young guys playing this music. Thank God! Beautiful to see young dudes who appreciate real rock! Hope you guys come to NJ.
I love these guys! Finally a band that plays real instruments and brings back all that true Zep nostalgia, that so many of us have missed. Two thumbs way up for GVF! 👍👍
WOW! Just two weeks ago these guys were getting some air play here in Detroit for the release of their album, played RIFFest here in Detroit last week and now they are SKYROCKETING.
I stumbled upon these guys on you tube, about 2 weeks ago..i had never heard of them before. They are fucking awesome, and the best thing that happened to the rock music scene in a Very Long Time! I pray the they don't fall prey to the many evil things out there in the band touring world! Amazing!
While listening to KRXQ 98.5 (Sacramento, CA) Hearing Highway Tune played constantly - This is one of the biggest Rock stations in Northern California. Way to go GVF!!!
I've been a massive zeppelin fan most of my life, these guys have the vibe.. great to hear young guys making something real, best of luck to them, what's wrong with sounding like the greatest band that ever existed?.
They do sound like Led Zeppelin but they also have their own style. There's nothing wrong with sounding like an Iconic band, but there is something wrong with not giving credit to them. I'm cool with them!
I saw Led Zepplin in Chicago in the fall of 73. I`m a huge Zep fan. Learned the first 5 records playing my clear Ludwigs in my bedroom. God bless my mother. Honestly, I`ve never heard Robert Plant sound as good as this kid in a live performance. The band has some similarities of sound, the Bonham type kit, the bass player plays keys, nice raw guitar sound. But I haven`t heard a band like this since the 70`s. I think their great, and their just kids, starting to move up quickly. So just enjoy it for what it is. Robert Plant should pay this kid a visit and give encouragement and guidance, He would be a great mentor for them. Could that be his grandson? Stay tuned, your time is gonna come!
Plant has heard them. He really ,he really likes them.He said the lead vocalist sounds great and has a great set of pipes, that sound like he did in his 20's.He picked them out as one of the bands that can bring hard rock back in a huge way.
For those of you saying Josh needs more moves, just no. Some of us don't want choreography or a guy jumping around like he has ants in his pants like so many these days. His presence is that of a singer who can sing, no acrobatics required.
These guys are bringin rock back. Seriously. Every few years, just when you think rock has had it, someone comes along and saves it. In '63 it was the Beatles. In '69 it was Led Zeppelin. In '78 it was Van Halen. In '91 it was Nirvana. Today, it's GVF.
People need to stop hating on how they sound. When Elvis took singing lessons they tried to change his voice and failed, it sounded too much like Delta blues and too much like black music at the time. Roy Orbison sounded just like Elvis, Tom Petty sounds like Bob Dillion, but with better pipes . Even Robert plant sounded like Janice Joplin and several other Psychedelic rock bands of the late 60's early 70's and a lot of these examples are in the same 20 year era. These kids in GVF are 40 years separated and sound out of time, as if the last 40 years never happened. To say they sound too much like something else when it's all original songs, is to say you know nothing about rock music, or much of music in general.... It's credit to theirs and Zeppelins genius that they sound like they wrote the new Zeppelin album, one Led Zeppelin would have been proud of. I hope they keep doing what they are, and being who they are, because they are amazing at it. Great rock album, gives me hope for a future of better music.
One time I would like to see the guitarist move to the other side of the stage. I love this group. I have been finding many videos to watch and love their sound. It's great to hear an old school bluesy feel.
People comparing them to the greatest band of all time like it’s a bad thing ? These guys are the real deal! A breath of fresh air after to many years of bieber bullshit! Rock n roll is alive and well. Thank god !👍💪
These guys are amazing. This guy just needs to grow his hair long so he looks like a classic rock god and these guys are the next zeppelin. Got the talent...he sings like Plant...band are great musicians!
Yes!! Bring Flower Power and real rock back !!! It was a wonderful time to be alive!! Nice to see musicians actually playing instruments again; instead of shaking their arse all over the stage!!!!
Yeah, they're Zep reincarnated, but so what? In GVF, we finally have a band that resembles what Zep really and truly was, instead of the dopey hair bands in the 80s that tried to basically do just the syncopated stomp Zep vibe of songs like the Wanton Song and The Ocean and stake entire albums on it. GVF gets it, and it's damn good to see someone finally get it right.
mcornettmedia and the Who ! This young man Can hit high note yes Plant hits them But Roger Dautree spell wrong I Iknow but Roger could not only hit them he could hold that note so can this young man😘
I have plenty of respect for Zeppelin, but really these guys are not at all the same as Zeppelin. To be honest, the lead singer Josh sounds more like Janice Joplin most of the time. I also hear other influences. I think you should forget the comparisons and take this band at face value. The sound you hear in this love recording is unique to Greta. No one sounds like them today. They do it all..and they do it easily.
I have to agree with you..... male form of Janis, and a whole lot of others, they are amazing, we saw them twice in MI, going to ROTR in May and in Detroit in May as well, just scored tix and they've never disspointed....... we're really excited about this band. They are the new coming Rock and Roll, something we've not had in a long time.... I think it all ended after Grunge and even "other than rock and roll stars" are getting in the R n R H of F who don't belong because there is nothing left but "pop rock"....... Its tme for history to repeat the 60 and beyond..... and here we are.
The bassist even plays organ like JPJ, I never thought I'd see a great new band again, I'm 65, saw Zep in 1969, same vibe, this gives me hope for the future of rock.
Out of the "Sea of Millennials" emerged greatness. As the crowd parted, three brothers and a drummer emerged. They gave the Rockin' Roll world whiplash. And it hurt, it hurt, it hurt so good.
