This is the 1st of about 5 videos breaking down a system of backing up a preacher. This is like my 1st type lesson or tutorial on the organ so tell me what you think.
I used to play the organ in the church, when I hear segments like this I want to practice again. I know the new church I started at really needs some soul to its music....
You have a beautiful heart my friend! I appreciate the clarity. And I agree with you about sharing knowledge. I'll accept your wisdom anytime! Black Ninja
this video helped soooooo much, thanks for taking your time. And most importantly giving the formula. Its so much easier learning when there's a formula! Be blessed!
best.... this is indeed the best i've seen. and you taught me something cause i never really use the sevenths... just a basic minor triad but im about to go sit at a piano now and check it out... good work fam
i understand totally and, because i was able to look past that, i learned something VERY useful. i was just trying to return the favor. since he honestly said he might not know some information, i was trying to, for lack of a better phrase, "fill in the gaps" so that he will know in the future. i did not mean to offend anyone, i really did mean it CONSTRUCTIVELY...i apologize. but i do believe: "those that have knowledge and do not share are worse than those that have no knowledge at all."
Hey Joshua. I may need you to come to Georgia. lol. Thanks soo much. I am learning to play. This is one lady that you have helped. I pray that God bless you tremendously. Love you my brother.
Musical Wonder. Bless you. They call me muzikman. Doc. I don't want to say this about a child of God....But you are a BEAST. I thank God for your Spirit. You may not not think that you know the terminologies. But take it from a fellow musician. That has been Trained you are doing just find.
my brother i really like what u said because it see like a lot of times when i preach some oragn player try to out do the preacher and i all ways wounder why they do that you here more of them then the preacher
Good stuff family, I miss that FL sound...and definitely some wisdom about not overpowering, it's seems like that's my biggest struggle with every band I play with...God Bless Dude
excellent work....I appreciate it....opened my eyes to some thangs...lol...but i would like for you to break down some of those runs you were making..as well the fingerings!!!!
Nice man! GB. Can you do a video for Piano. I don't have an organ and have never been able to learn it. Would love some chord progressions for the piano for preacher fills.
let me say first that this is good stuff, and I don't have an organ at my church I use a keyboard. do you have any video lessons for backing a preacher on keyboard in piano?
@layah8482 I do appreciate your knowledge of theory, however, he did say several times that he didn't know all of the names of the chords and to "bare with him". Black Ninja Black Ninja Records, NYC
first off let me say great lesson. CONSTRUCTIVE criticism: the diminished chord is the 3rd and 5th lowered not the 3rd and 6th...you accidentally said it twice even though you mention that Bb is the 5 of the scale throughout the lesson. GOD bless!!!
E diminished with an A bass is A diminished. Also the formula to make a diminished chord involves the 3 and 5, not 6. Please be aware that some people will take what you say for granted. A pedal shot would be useful to novice organists too.
+Galilee Music He is playing in the key of Eb major. The A natural in the bass is technically a B double flat, which is still the 5th of the chord. He is playing an Eb diminished chord, with the 5th (B double flat) in the bass, making it an Eb diminished in 2nd inversion.
+Bob Organ I don't know why he was saying the 6th...but an 'A' diminished is 'A' 'C' 'Eb'. He is incorrectly calling the note an 'A' - it is an enharmonic equivalent to the the flatted fifth of the 'Eb' chord, which is 'Bbb'. An 'Eb' diminished chord is 'Eb' 'G' 'Bbb' (double flat). An 'Eb' diminished chord with a 'Bbb' in the bass is and 'Eb' diminished chord in 2nd inversion.
IT would be easier if you just did all the chords in order slowly, and spelled them out as you went along vs the disclaimers about what you know, dont know we just want the chords man, showing the basic, and then adding the advanced slowly, spelled.
Just like the world,if someone charged ($ )you for it there would be more appreciation and gratitude. Critics should post their theoritical musicical concepts and get payed. Stop hatin on the BRO just because you dont have any flavor.
