Not only is there a huge mark up on diamonds and other stones but he literally had his own jewelery production shop built into the back of his store so hes not paying some gucci prices on his necklaces and pendants hes got a bunch of cheap labor or apprentices/Interns doing that shit for free just to learn from the master. Plus hes a very hands on dude when it comes to making jewelry hes super passionate about it and makes a lot of those pieces himself by hand so the profit margin is astronomical. And you’ll never make a dime “investing” in diamonds. It’s not like you’d be buying them at a discount. Nobody has a “discount”. Their entire market value and stock is controlled by one company that puts a set number of diamonds into circulation every year. That’s a fact. They control the prices. Nobody else. Gold on the other hand, can be owned through many different avenues and suppliers. The value isn’t all held/created by one company. It’s made by the global supply fluctuating. It’s not even worth the work/time of taking diamonds out of custom chains/watches to melt down the gold in the piece to resell. The moment a chain or watch has diamonds put into it, it loses value drastically. Because to put diamonds in, weight of the gold needs to be machined out. To make room for the diamonds to be set. So you end up with less gold or whatever precious metal, and a bunch of holes in your piece that you’ll never get fixed. which is also 10x worse if you decided to ice out a Rolex or something from the factory (literally just destroying a factory Rolex to put some aftermarket holes in it). A Rolex straight out of the factory is worth a lot more than a Rolex with aftermarket diamond setting. Icing out chains and watches drops the value, and makes sure that you’ll never be able to resell it.

I’ll never forget when I was a line service Technician for a private FBO. Floyd came in on his private G5. I remember him cleaning his hands with sanitizer, reaching in his duffel bag and tipped my whole crew $100 each. (It was about 8-9 of us)
He absolutely deserves to enjoy all of it. But he’s still famous and wealthy even if he decided to instead help kid with disabilities, cancer etc instead of doing that. At the end of the day we will all go back to soil that we came from but our spirits will live on and one day we will all bow before Jesus Christ and confess he’s Lord.
