Boxing fans in case you dont know there alot of different styles of boxing the slick style(lara) the boxer puncher(Canelo Alvarez) pressure boxer(maidana) Brawler(Marquez,Cotto,Pacquiao) and defensive Counter Puncher(Mayweather) the casual fans mostly like brawlers....you cant expect a counter defensive puncher to play the role of a brawler that would be a recipe for defeat..mayweather is the best defensive fighter in history...and best of this era his style isnt casual fan friendly but he is a master pugilist...they are alot of young boxer coming up that dont have mayweather's style...so the sport is in very good hands and far from dead...so get out of here with that bullshit

This is why intelligence trumps all the group-think dipshits who mistakenly think boxing means "street brawl with gloves on". One: Mayweather has the absolute best defense of all time. Not even a question. He doesn't have the best flat out power...pound for pound...and he isn't going to be noted for his formidable offense. It doesn't matter though. When you mix the combination of intelligence and defense...you can wear down the best offenses with precision and ease. Floyds defense works like waves of water. Each time you come in contact with it...it wears you down a little more every time. Pretty soon your great offense becomes a mediocre offense...and you're sitting there with an "L" and wondering what happened. Also...Floyd is going to be able to have sat on top for as long as he has....and still be able to speak full sentences in his 90's. As far as strategy....the only other person like him I've ever seen in any sport is Michael Jordan. Mayweather will get shit NOW...but wait until 10 years from now when everybody realizes just how much of a clinic this man put on for 20 straight years. Mayweather is a true genius. Yall gotta let go of the hugging and running excuse, May clinched 13 times the whole fight and 10 were in the first half of the fight when the fight was close...he actually did better when he used the check left hook instead of clinching when on the ropes plus controlling distance and running are two different things, you can't "run" and at the same time out throw and out land your opponent.
I stopped ordering Mayweather PPV fights a long time ago. It's like watching paint dry. The outcome was easy to predict; a boring decision and Mayweather doing whatever he needed to do to avoid an actual fight.

Even here he is more respectful than Pacquiao and his team were before and after the fight. Floyd is even more respectful here than the "fans" that called him a chicken, a runner, or whatever else. Instead of admitting he won, whether they liked the way or not, and acknowledging his in-ring brilliance. No, "fans" insult and disrespect. Despite all these cases against women, I have never seen anything indicating he did anything. He may have, I don't know I wasn't there, but I haven't seen anything indicating he did other than the word of the women who claim it. Mayweather is my favourite boxer and I understand how he fights but tbh, May vs Pac did not deserve that kind of price tag and the fight itself not being exciting. For me from learning point of view, I enjoyed watching how Floyd would pick Manny apart. But 150million just for that? seriously, I would of rather went to bed instead lol. The only fight since then he hasn't really ran was with Marques but that was because he was like 15 to 20 pounds heavier than him bigger than him and even then he ran some of the round

The difference between the preparation of this fight is considerable. Floyd's corner: Floyd Sr., Roger, Ariza, Rafael, Zab who he had around the whole training camp, and the other ex pro-boxers in his team. Pac's corner: A declining Freddie Roach and a whole lot of other people who is just there for leech off Manny. Those guys in Pac's corner knew nothing about boxing, and this is why he came into the fight like a blind duck. Pac coulda done a lot more, but for some reason Roach gave him the impression that hes winning.
Cmon floyd, this aint amateur fight were fighter pot shots each other to pile up points.. In amateur fight they seldom go for knockdown, because a knockdown is simply scored as a punch landed..

I researched that fight the other day. In all fairness, the fight could have gone one of three ways: Win for Mayweather, win for Castillo, or draw. The scores that the judges had Mayweather winning by was ridiculous as well as the score that Lederman had for HBO in favor of Castillo was ridiculous. Mayweather won the rematch. Let's say that settled the score

But if we look at the fight vs Lara Alvarez, one sees that the fight was judged with reference style Alvarez. This is a joke You can also see a victory of Pacquiao.

34% of punches landed for mayweather... 80 percent were love taps.... he didn';t do nothing. If Floyd was given credit for his light taps. Pac's flurries that landed on the side of the body and face of Floyd should be also counted. Pacquiao won the fight. He landed more telling blows. Pac is also most of the time the aggressor. Floyd should be also penalize for his hugging/running. Past boxers was penelized before for this.
