I have their signature center channel to replace my b&w center that my son destroyed or modified depending on who you ask lol... Anyway I am thrilled with it I really am, so much so I just ordered their signature bipolar for my surrounds to replace my old mirage omnisats... I'm impressed with their price/performance ratio for sure!

Accurate description, I've been using/enjoying the older XL7 suite ($500pr XL7) for 5yrs now and amazed at the price & performance ratio. Only cosmetic flaw so far is small delam of veneer at front corner hardly noticeable. Also picked up the smaller discontinued XL5 and AV-HTB-F at the same time...great price ($200 & $75prs respectively) Fantastic sounding lil speakers! The bipolar surrounds in the xl series no slouch for 200 range either. Took a chance on Fluance based on reviews and think I came out a winner. Cheers

Be careful with that passive preamp - it might affect bass quality/quantity due to it's high output impedance mismatching with the amplifier input impedance. I recommend using a normal powered preamp (because they have a buffer) or DAC with adjust volume etc.

I had a VERY discontinued model from Fluance with the same build MTMW but in that one, after inspection the MTM part was chambered. I picked them up for $100, set them up perfect and demo'd them to somebody who was quick to pay me $350 for them lol this was a decade ago

The previous gen MTM was sealed within the box and the 8" woofer had it's own cavity are you saying it's an open design? 100%? Looks like they still need to work on the bracing, the issue sounds like resonance.

It's probably because it makes the cabinet bigger, which makes it tuned lower than having it sealed off in the middle. Obviously separated is usually better but these are so cheap, can't complain

I have some Elac UB5's (original) and am looking to sell them to get a pair of theses. Even with a sub the Elacs don't fill my room. I think Towers are the way to go if you have space to fill. I never been happy with Elac's for rock music

kiss my black ash. speaker design is much more than drivers in a box. also, you can see the effects of the highish xover of lkHz to the tweeter in the FR graph. slight dip at 2500, over time you may realize its effect. overall, i like Fluance as a company, even the wow and flutter on their turntables is low for the price. yes, a good solid center channel is the investment you want for HT, the tonality must match the L & R fronts and yes, just a decent rear like the Minimus 7s i use is more than adequate. you really don't want to notice the rears UNLESS something is supposed to be there. thanks for reviewing the Fluance spakers, i can now recommend them as i do the TTs. ...hifitommy

I appreciate your attention to OCD. The speakers positioned perfectly under the windows. But that outlet not centered between the windows (not something you can change) is absolutely killing me. What were they thinking? Yeah, I'm fun to live with.

I found that the spikes calmed some of the cabinet resonance I was dealing with. They are just so darn light and kinda unstable without the spikes digging into carpet.

I just got a pair of these a few days ago (or I'm trying them out but they do look like a million bucks!) and just came across this informative and funny AF review. Call me subscribed! I have them in a 5.1 setup with my SVS sub and wanted to upgrade from my EMPTek R5B's. Yeah two 6 1/2's beat a 5 1/4" for moving air and points taken on the internal corner cutting and difficulty in reselling towers but boy are these gorgeous! I got them more for low powered effortless music than cranking them so I don't think their limitations will be noticec but... now I'm wondering about the Klipsch RP 600M ii's....!

I GOT A PAIR, still in the box, unboxing tomorrow, hope they are ok, boxes have a damages. can't wait until i hook them up......there taking alot longer than 10 hours to break in. as it saId on the box. been several days now, an i am probably running them 10 hours a day. just starting to sound good. THEY NEED A BETTER TWEETER. Had them five months now, they are awesome. I hooked them with banana plugs, i didn't like the sound, so i hooked them up with 12 guage wire directly to the hookups, sounded 100% times better.

You should cover the hole front wall in thick insulation, too. You will likely get bass nulls 'cause of its reflection.

The A800 is great for subwoofers, but as a hifi amp? I tested mine (just for fun) and boy did it sound dead compared to my sub £400 integrated. I suspect you could run speakers 4x the price through the A800 and be "hmmmm, ok i guess". Setup was - Monitor Audio Bronze 2, Cambridge Audio CXA60. The A800 really really isn't' a "hifi" amplifier. They do a great job on my diy woofers though.

Hey Z you need to check out a yt vid called "Seriously the BEST $2 3D printer upgrade! " by "cnc kitchen", also on a side note i find it's much easer to listen to a yt vid at 2x playback speed when my audio is set to 192khz no more no less and the highest bit depth my dac's can do.

i had the signatures series i sold them pretty quick, they are overall very cheap speakers,, even the mdf is very low grade at this price point the best bet is to wait for a sale on any reputed brands at 800$ cad you can get some pretty night and day speakers Quality.

You always need to add a sub, hold on I’m confused. The bigger the driver the more power it takes to drive it to reference because it’s a bigger driver more mass Thus takes more energy to get it moving right? The more efficient a speaker is the less power it takes to get it to reference, just because a speaker is bigger doesn’t mean it’s more efficient. Lol I have that exact center channel. Rc64iii is an absolutely amazing center channel. And I wanted to get a rf7iii for my center channel to have a matching lcr, went with the rc64iii and feel like it’s just as good if not better than a third rf7iii. Idk it just works perfect it just feels right the sound of it just goes with and matches even it isn’t exactly the same I feel it’s just meant to be and compliments and as a whole is perfect . Tho another rf7iii would have a lot more bass I just feel the rc64iii matches perfect with the rf7iii and it shouldn’t be any other way..
