Maangchi, I made this bread with a whole wheat bread flour and followed your instructions exactly. I halved all the ingredients to make only 1 loaf though, and it turned out so good! It was my first time baking bread and it turned out lovely. Thanks for figuring out this recipe with all your experiments, the Pandemic Ppang is top notch! If you want to make only one loaf, here are the measurements guys. I will use grams when it was convenient for me : 1/8 cup unsalted butter (28.4 g) 3/4 cup cold milk (whole or skim) 1/8 cup sugar (30 g) 1/2 packet of instant or active dry yeast (1 1/8 teaspoons or in the case of my packet which was 7g of yeast, I used 3.5g) 3/4 teaspoons kosher salt 1 egg 2 cups all purpose wheat flour (or bread flour) plus more for dusting

Came across your channel by chance and made this bread yesterday. It was a total hit. Two loaves simply disappeared 😐. Like you struggled with making bread in the lockdown....but this recipe finally saved me.

I'm in the UK and eat bread often although I haven't made any for many years as it's so convenient to buy, but this recipe has inspired me to try it out. I was amazed to see you using that particular brand of jam - Tiptree. We live not far from where it is made in Essex in England. I never knew it was sold in the US. It's very good quality and comes in an amazing range of flavours.

Hi maangchi... I am your fan! I honestly tried a dozen of bread recipes out there , but yours' had done absolute magic. I was mainly thrilled with the "300" kneading challange. 이렇게 쉽고 간편하면서 맛있는 빵 레시피라니..저는 무반죽 빵이랍시고 30분에 한번씩 3시간동안 반죽을 확인해야 하는 번거로운 레시피들에 지쳐있었는데 5분만 투자해서 처음에만 열심히 반죽하고 방치하면 되는 이 레시피에 감탄합니다! 설거지 거리도 아주 적어서 좋아요!

Maangchi, I have been a loyal fan, but in Oct. 2020 my dad died. I live in another country and couldn't be with him, and his death made me change my lifestyle. So now I eat Keto for my diabetes - a very low carbohydrate diet. I stopped watching cooking shows because I didn't want to focus on food, but I've really missed your beautiful self! So now I'm back, and I'll search your videos for the low carb recipes for meat and vegetables!!. I have two of your cookbooks and I love them! They are so well-written and presented. Im going to try this...I have made bread but different...just flour, salt, yeast, water. What I like here - besides your up beat presentation, is that you mix it all in the skillet where you melt the butter. I did purchase one of those bread baking pans - found on Amazon.

This is by far the best bread recipe. I made a normal loaf of white bread using this recipe and a cinnamon swirl bread loaf with the other half. It was outstanding. Thank you for those wonderful recipe.

Hi Maangchi! I made this bread today and it turned out great! It was my first time making bread and I wanted to make just one loaf and I also live in Europe where our measuring cup sizes are different to standard US cup so I had to do a little bit of calculating but it still turned out great!

You can use whole wheat flour, too. I sometimes use whole wheat flour to make this bread.

Just brilliant. I never made bread this way, starting all in one pan. I can cook and can make some great meals however bread, I have a 50/50 shot in making a good loaf of bread. Either it's terrific, fragrant, excellent crust, nice core or I make a boat anchor.(I kneed too much?) Just beautiful. I am going to try your technique and the addition of eggs is new to me. Quick tip: putting bread in the fridge actually makes it stale much faster because it recrystallizes the starch molecules in the bread more quickly than leaving it at room temperature. Freezing it completely is the best way to store long term. But for everyday, keep bread wrapped tightly in a plastic bag and foil on the counter, then just toast it slightly to crisp up the crust just as it was when you pulled it out of the oven.

I made this last night and even though left the dough proof for too long. Fortunately, I was able to savage the loafs by punching out the air and letting them re-proof for an hour before baking. My family enjoyed them this morning so thank you so much for this recipe!!

Yes, chic Ppng is good and I make a Sour dough mix with eggs and Onions. It is very good. I love you recipe. I give you my sour dough recipe: to make 2 loaves each weighing 650 gram, leftover dough for burrito wraps. 800 grams of all purpose flour 25 gram of dry yeast 525 grams of liquid sourdough mixer(make with flour and water only) 10 grams of salt 45 gram of extra virgin olive oil 2 large eggs 30 gram of ghee butter 1 medium onion finely puree 8 grams of garlic granules, not powder 1. P lace all ingredients, but ghee in a mixer. 2. Warm the liquid sour dough to luke warm (no more than 120 degree Fahrenheit) 3. Place slowly the sourdough liquid into the mixer the warm liquid sour dough. 4. Check if more liquid is needed or more flour to consistency, sometimes the onion is more liquid and it might be humid too. 5. Mix dough for 5 minutes then rest 2 minutes. the rest allows dough to develop gluten. 6. Mix dough for 5 minutes again the stop. 7. Leave dough in mixing bowl and add ghee and cover the dough with it. This give it a special flavor later. 8. Cover and rise it for 1 1/2 hours, punch down every 20 minutes. 9. Once dough is done rising, place on floured surface and knead for 10 minutes or until elestic the dough. (this will be the sign to be ready) 10. Take two baking pans and oil very liettle. 11. Take the dough and form it into a long tube and place in pan. Wrap dough to make it tight. 12. Save dough left over to make burrito wraps on a pan. 32. Place dough in 350 degree oven for 30 to 45 minutes. bread it done when it is brown on top. Bread it done. enjoy and eat. i make this bread with some change for cinnamon, for french bread, for pita bread, for dinner rolls, for sandwich bread. rolls, and many more. to make the sour dough take and mix 1 cup of flour with 1 cup of water. let it sit in a glass jar with a paper towel covering it, stir every day, ad more water and ad more flour until if ferments and get the sour dough smell. good luck

I make something similar, but leave it round and flat, and outside gets too firm, but very crispy. Sometimes, I add couple of spoons of shredded cheese to the dough, it improves flavour! I need to try this recipe, it looks magestic!!!
