Fluorescent UV exposure tests [Paint Testing] 

Depending on what tests you want to perform later after exposure. If only fading/chalking/color is assessed, aluminum Q-Panels are sufficient. If you want to test the entire coating system with a primer or evaluate, for example, the adhesion of architectural paints to the substrate, concrete panels will be a better option.

First device used to the assessment of coatings after exposure is spectrophotometer Konica Minolta CM-2500d with di:8/de:8 geometry (the gray one) used to measure L* a* b* coordinate and second, you are right, is a gloss meter Novo Gloss Trio by Rhopoint (navy blue instrument).

@@SpektrochemResearchLaboratory thank you. We UV test our resins but was looking for a device to check the difference in ambering effects from UV degradation. I assume any spectrophotometer would work as we only need for a handful of tests

@@JenflowSystemsLTD If your resins are transparent, but turn yellow under the influence of radiation, you should think about measurements with devices dedicated to the foil. We do not have such equipment, because we do not carry out such tests, but ask the Paul N. Gardner Company (Pompano Beach, FL) about the appropriate equipment for testing.

@@SpektrochemResearchLaboratory thank you I will reach out. Generally we pigment white then test so as the zee clearly the effects. We have perfected an aliphatic based epoxy that visually has almost zero ambering. We're trying to determine what level of discolouration it has overall

@@JenflowSystemsLTD so, you can use the same device as on our video. Test method for evaluation of whiteness and yellowness index you can use from ASTM E313 (measurement by spectrophotometer with C illuminate and 2° observer). Good luck ;)
