Paddling around the small tranquil lakes of Dry Falls Washington, below the massive walls of the Worlds Largest Waterfall (at least during the ice age) in my DIY fluted plastic folding kayak.

Thanks for the primeval paddle cruise Paul. I've been carrying a compact DIY electric mountain bike for such outings and having a compact fordable boat toss on a roof rack would be a perfect addition. And perhaps a compact bicycle that not just folded but that 'plugged' together would be a fun challenge.

I've paddled in a kayak very similar to this on a pond but the person who owned it paid quite a bit of money for it. Well done as always

How about adding a lateen sail? If you look at older Polynesian designs, you can see they compensated for less sturdy materials by using tripod masts, and clever use of rail mounted whisker poles and running rigging.

Nice! Looking good!!! BTW, How do you get your HIN??? Around here they treat that like teeth in a duck’s beak with fines that would sink a bank.

Do you think this could be fiberglassed over to make it stronger and permanent? More for a mini two person jet boat style

I doubt it. You could try but the folds make it not so smooth.

So Paul, what kinds of wildlife do you see there?
@paulwelkinsdiy
@paulwelkinsdiy 2 года назад
Mostly birds, IE Hawks, Eagles, and an assortment of others. I did see a prairie dog, and I almost hit a deer that shot out in front of my car, but that's it. Oh, and ticks.

@@paulwelkinsdiy I was born & spent first decade of life in west TX. Back then prairie dog "towns" were common but they're all gone now. What a joy they were to watch! Thanks for reminding me & enjoy your travels!

No. I usually keep my eye ahead of me when in shallow water. I would if I was on a shallow river.

RU-vid has destroyed itself thinking its progress. I love your videos but didn't know you posted a new one 10 days ago. No, I won't be clicking the bell. I subbed. That should be enough. But there are plenty of stupid videos youtube wants me to watch, doesn't want me to watch what I'm actually interested in. Smh

Thank you Michael. I agree. I try to stay true to what I'm interested with at the time, and my interests are many, which to me is fun.
