I think your videos were some of/ if not the first that I came across months ago when I started looking at nocode. And I chose Flutterflow over Adalo. One of the first issues is I don't know what language Adalo uses in the backend, which means I'd probably be stuck in their system forever, so scalability was the issue. Flutterflow on the other hand uses Flutter. Simple, straight to the point. My experience has been mostly good but my thoughts are: 1. Don't design in Flutterflow. Design/ prototype in figma, etc. know what exactly you want to build and execute it there. You'll save yourself a lot of time. Trust me on this. 2. The documentation isn't terrible if you like reading. But they could've had wayyyy more success if they had better RU-vid tutorials. Explaining WHY instead of... Just drag this here and you're done 🙄. The earlier videos just expected you to know, rather than spoonfeeding you. This is a column this is how it works, this is why you want to use a column instead of a row. Now if you want to create something like this, use the knowledge you just learned to see how easy it is. They didn't take that approach and I personally think they failed in that area, esp for a new tool. You can tell it's a small team, but they can & need to do better/ more content. 3. I think Adalo's 50 records is trash when you compare that to Firebase. I could be wrong but idk. Maybe the integration is better. 4. I've also seen the comments on Adalo being slow so I wouldn't even bother wasting my time with that. Overall I think nocode requires you to know what you're doing. Having zero experience in database design, UI/UX, etc.. it's not there yet. And I also think most RU-vid programmers try to save time by writing less code... With nocode you can do almost anything with very little consequence and not worry about the underlying code. I think the approach going forward should be, "we're going to create this screen from a mock-up/ prototype, it's looks complex but is super easy when you know what to look for, here is a column, this is a row, button, stack." When people get super comfortable with designing then you start introducing the complex stuff.. not everyone knows their way around GitHub, APIs, custom functions, etc. And while they don't need to go super in-depth, they do need to show/ explain WHY they're doing any of this stuff and why it matters
Hey thanks so much for stopping by! Love your comment and the details this is going to be SUPER helpful for people. Hope all goes well on your journey building!
hi may I ask how's the performance? Are you satisfied with the performance? In scale of 1-10 how would you rate the performance. My main concern is performance
@@harydascuellar972 because figma is sorta like a blank canvas. You can move elements around, redesign stuff quickly. And Flutterflow is when you decide to build the actual product. In the earlier versions of Flutterflow you couldn't drag and drop anywhere on the screen it had to follow certain rules. Still does but it's not the tool you'd want to waste time in perfecting the layout of your app.
Hi, thank you for the information. I'm very new to this and I've started creating my app on Balsamiq wireframes and now I've built it out on Figma. I'm just learning about "no code app builders". What I'm putting together is that I should halt finalizing on Figma and just start over in Flutter Flow, so that I can begin my user testing?
No problem welcome! Depends on where you are in the process. It would be more seamless if you start with a platform like Flutterflow but have you validated your idea already?I ask because you might be able to validate first with figma and shift over after. Hope that makes sense, please ask more questions or let me know where you are in the process
Hi, I have not validated my idea yet. So last night I created the landing page for the smoke test. I think what your getting at is make sure this idea is validated then switch to flutter flow?
FlutterFlow I even didn't know it existed! I tried to learn some code with no success in the last month. Gold for me! thanks man, you deserve a Like and my Sub :)
What's up Doc, First of all thank you for the great content like always. I was wondering if I could create an app with no-code that can connect with an external wireless device via bluetooth to measure (heat, distance etc) Flutterflow or Alado?
Hey glad you're liking the content! Hmm that's a really good question. Out of the two platforms, FlutterFlow will be the way to go for that for sure. It depends on the exact functionality you need but it sounds like webhooks or APIs would need to be involved with this. It depends on your experience level but you would prob need to use some integration with APIs. I would prob look into IFTTT and Nodered as well. Hope that helps!
Hi, Thanks for the video! I am trying to build a fitness app like calorie tracking, workout, etc, How we can do this using flutter-flow? What would be the flow like?
Hi Doc, Love, love, love your videos. I've been researching one question for months, and I'd be SO grateful for your guidance. I want to no-code develop a mildly complex trivia game app and I don't know which development platform to use. Think a simple trivia game, not graphics intensive at all, but with the following complexity: determining winners and losers (time to answer, correct answer, and the possible number of winners (there can be more than one per round, depending on the number of players), grouping players on a first-in, first-grouped sets of players per round, and the number of points added, or lost by winner(s) and losers, respectively.
Hey Brian glad to help! Hmm for that type I would prob go with Bubble. Although not usually made for games the logic of what you want can be accomplished by Bubble. The second option that I might explore because they have a game engine would be buildbox- signup.buildbox.com/ Hope that helps. Take care!
amazing vid quick question I have a glide app fully published and being used currently. I need to use either adalo bubble or flutterflow. Wich would you recommend to just transfer my glideapp to publish in App Store
Good day Doc! Great video! Im looking to create an app to help whoever assist with the layout of a room. Would have an option to select from different furniture pieces. Thanks for your thoughts. No code preferred
Hey thanks for stopping by! Possibly, but it depends on the exact functionality you want. For example, will the room need to be done with AR (augmented reality like pokemon go) or are you have them be able to plan it out from a birds eye view? Or are you going to ask them a series of questions and you'll provide options based on their answers. Depending on your answer you'll have a limited amount of the type of platform you can choose from. Feel free to comment and leave more details!
Hey thanks for stopping by! At this moment I don't believe it is possible to integrate with bluetooth. I would reach out to Adalo for more clarification.
I want to build On demand service Providing app with multi vendor and e-commerce feature but how to manage backend in that case can put some lights on it please?
Hey great question! Sounds like you are planning to create a marketplace. If that sounds right I would look at my content about how to build a marketplace with sharetribe or softr. Hey Doc! Thanks for the highly knowledgeable content again....just a humble request to you....please make a video on the new entrant tool in the field of no code, called APPSMITH....it is developed in my country India....but the way it operates seems little bit complicated....i would love to know ur opinion on this tool and if possible make a review of it to breakdown things about how the tool operates in a way that beginners or non tech guys can understand, which you usually do....thanks in advance
hello, i am building a marketplace app like etsy, i am like half way done building it in Adalo. Now i am having doubts concerning the functionality, app speed. what do you think should I go ahead test my idea with Adalo and then later switch to flutter flow? or is adalo competant enough to handle marketplace 10k to 50k daily users? thanks would appreciate your insight.
Hey great question! If you're just starting without any customers or sales I would use Adalo stlll. If you're looking at a marketplace 10k to 50k daily users I would really take a look at Sharetribe Flex which is made for marketplaces or FlutterFlow. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have more questions.
@@docwilliams sharetribe flex might not work cause i don't know how to code properly but maybe after i am done with adalo then i can switch to flutterFlow?
Great question! I would refer to the flutterflow documentation or the community board here. For example asking a question here- community.flutterflow.io/c/discuss-and-get-help/return-a-datatype-map-from-custom-function
Hey thanks! Glad they are helpful! Based on that feature you can that with any platform that allows for database relationships. That can be done with flutterflow, adalo, glide apps, softr etc. Depends on the exact functionality you want for the app but I would prob go with Glide Apps www.glideapps.com/ to start with. If there are other features to consider please let me know. Take care!
Hey, Doc I've been designing and managing my own Long distance learning app. I started designing in photoshop, then pulled all the screens into invision, I then outsourced an android development team, the app crashed on my server and a lot of data was wiped out. now am starting over and want to do it by myself but I am not a coder. I want to try building my long-distance learning app using a none coder, flutter flow looks interesting and I would want to deploy it on ios and android stores. what would you suggest to work with as none coder?
Hey great question! It all depends on the exact features of the app. Hearing about a learning app it depends if you need quizzes etc. Also depends what stage are you in. ARe you validating your idea or already have students and need to streamline what you're using. One more thought is have you already tried using a LMS (Learning Management System) like Podia or Teachable prior to needing to build an app from scratch. Hope that helps!
Hi Doc, really appreciate your high-value content! what no-code tool would you recommend using to build a Depop clone mobile app? it would be preferable to build the MVP and scale within the same platform noting I don't have a coding background and don't want a significant time gap between MVP and the final product...
Hey glad you're liking the content! I would prob go with sharetribe go and then transition to Sharetribe Flex to scale. If you want to try it out here's the link www.sharetribe.com/?rfsn=5288964.5990a1 (this is my affiliate link)
Cheers for this video really helpful. I am looking to build a MVP podcast app (mobile) that serves personalised audio (mp3) to paid users - which way would you lean in this use case? I was looking at Adalo for MVP & then rebuild in NodeJS/VueJS if we get traction/funding. How slow is Adalo in 2023?
Glad you like the content! Great idea and a good question! I don't know the exact stats of the speed of Adalo nowadays but I have not heard of massive improvements in this area. They do have an integration with Xano at a higher price tier but I'm still waiting to hear experiences where speeds have improved in more complicated apps. Hope that helps!
@@daveatatu depends on what exactly you're trying to validate. For example are you trying to get to a specific number of users? Out of the no code low code platforms I would use FlutterFlow to validate. Depending on speed and test I might use Soundwise mysoundwise.com/
Hello Sir, I really need your opinion on this. I am trying to build a cross platform portal (both web and mobile) like Fiverr but for a particular niche. I need people to be able to sign up as both sellers and buyers. I need geolocation, I need API integration for payment gateways for many countries. I have checked out your videos comparing Adalo, Flutterflow, Bubble, Appgyver etc. I have briefly used Bubble and Adalo. It seems Bubble can do everything I need but learning curve is steep. Adalo was easy enough but seems pricy and for MVP. I need a no-code builder in between Adalo and Bubble that is scalable long term. Do you think Flutterflow is it?
@@OBPrince great question! I would go with Bubble or FlutterFlow. Both have a steep learning curve and have pros and cons but those would be my suggestions. In general if you’re looking for a marketplace specific platform I would definitely check out cs-cart for building marketplaces. Hope that helps and please keep me posted.
I'm looking to build a service ranking platform like upwork / fiverr etc. but without the payments system. I just want paid memberships, rankings and reviews. What platform would you recommend?
Great video! Subscribed!! I want to make an App that advertises for participating restaurants, bars, etc. The front page will advertise content for these places. The user will have the option to then click, order, & reserve a seat before getting there. Like a Grubhub or Doordash but in reverse. Does this make since? Can you please tell me what template I would start with? Thank you!
Hey Joe! Welcome to the channel! This depends on the exact functionality you need like how it connects to their inventory. Does the restaurants all get instantly get paid etc. In general it would something like Glide apps to test the idea. FlutterFlow would be prob be the one I would go to advance the idea but would take more time to initially build out. Hope that helps!
@@docwilliams I think native, events are weekly basis, so cycle through. could be 1. Event 1: starts every thursday at 1pm to 3pm, then again, at 5pm to 7pm. So basically showing a countdown timer for when the event starts, and perhaps change color while the event is ongoing, with time remaining, and back to normal countdown when the event is over.
Hi i want to build a app that is basically a ebeatbook app for police beat officer . Which platform i should use , if i want to use this app completely offline and native on a tablet , no of users are20
Hey doc, great content! any chance you could do a video on creating a sports news feed app? Also any chance I could consult with you on how much this would cost as a project you’d take on? Thanks
Hey great question! I'll put it on the list of potential videos in the future. You're looking for an app that updates the score of a particular sport regarding the results or play by play? Currently I'm only taking clients that are building start ups and scaling. If that fits your situation here's a link for a paid planning session to review the scope of your app and execution. Here's the link to book- bookme.name/brandfactoryinc/lite/blueprint-for-building-your-idea Let me know if you have any questions!
Hey Doc, thanks for the reply and the link to contact you. Much appreciated. Atm I’m simply first trying to understand and learn what’s involved and the tech that would go behind an app that would give you end of game sports scores and also have sports news feeds from a provider.
@@popssinor8921 sounds good! It could be done with fluttler flow but for livestreaming it would be like youtube live etc or if you want to host the video you’ll need something like google cloud platform or AWS and you’ll need a developer for that. If you want a fully no code platform to livestream I would check out Teyuto or Uscreen. Take care!

Hey great question! This depends on what you want for POS. Are you looking to build a platform with an integration with Stripe or another payment processor?
Hey Doc i want to create a Netflix replica, I estimated about five hundred users will use it. So I don't really know which noncoding app builder to use. Which one would you suggest?
could you do a comparison video between bubble and flutterflow? both seemed so similar in many ways and its hard to choose between the two! could u do a video on their scalability as well when transacting 1,000 -> 100,000 data?
Hey Dave great question! Depends if you have validated the idea with customers yet or if it's a proven profitable venture. Also depends on the exact functionality of Tinder. For example, just the swiping style or you need advanced analytics to track what people swipe and change based on analytics, etc. Validating I would go with Glide Apps. Proven and ready to run, FlutterFlow.
Hi Doc! Amazing Videos, thank you for tour insights. I would like to build a similar app just like "Motivation" or basically an app, where you can get templates, Ideas at somepoint video explanations etc. Which App would you recommend? Thanks again!
The whole Adalo vs Flutterflow isn't even a question anymore. You should choose Flutterflow any day of the week. As someone who was using Adalo for over a year, stay clear of it. It's got bad performance and a terrible new pricing structure. You are unable to scale if you app becomes successful on Adalo.
Thanks for the infos Doc. My question is: If I get the Pro Plan of Adolo and I finish the app and publish it in the first month, the app remains on Play and App Store even if i suspend the payed subscription? What i loose in this case? Thanks so much!
Hey Arden great question! That's a great question! I don't know the exact answer to that after searching Adalo's forums. I would reach out to their support for more clarifaction on that.
Great question! This depends if you're validating your idea and scaling. If I'm testing the idea I would go for Softr or FlutterFlow. If I was scaling I would use Sharetribe.
Hello, thank you for all the helpful videos. I am new to no code app builders. What I want to build is a language learning (English for now) mobile application, however I am not sure which platform is most helpful if I want to create such application. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you
Sounds great! Kaveh great suggestion. I would look at the functionality for the app you're looking for. Are you validating your idea? If so I would focus on what is the first functionality you need for your app and why? Depending on those factors it could be buildbox, glide or FlutterFlow.
@@docwilliams Hello, thank you for your reply. I haven't validated my idea yet. I want to create an app that will be helpful with listening, writing, speaking and reading in English. I haven't begun working on reading and writing yet, however I have started on listening. Users are able to select whether they want to listen to an audio or watch a video (embed youtube video).
