I've seen Soviet tanks smaller then this. With that much power and soundstage you can rule the world. That's what serious engineering without caring about space or design limitations means... FABULOS!

@@SergeySedlovsky Wouldn't hurt to try it with some planars too, it's a love story with Volot. Love the 800S, even bigger soundtage with that beautiful monster.
Thanks for the review. I like your detailed technical descriptions of the equipment and sound and also the emotions that you feel when listening. Both are important and your reviews are some of my favourite for audio products. I've ordered a Volot based on your review/circuit topology/previous Flux Audio performance. I've just got to find some space to put it!
Thank you for the review! I was wondering how much of an improvement you think this is compared to just one AHB2 for the soundstage, transience, bass slam, etc.
One single AHB2 is still better when it comes to PRaT (Pace, Rhythm and Timing), but Volot wins massive when it comes to smoothness and soundstage. If you care only for bass slam and impact, nothing can beat the AHB2...I've tried Many integrated and power amplifiers by now with them and AHB2 is still numero uno.
Those power ratings are delivered only on High+ Gain settings. Low gain was made only for IEMs and high-sensitivity headphones (such as Focal, Apos Caspian, etc)
You are the best audio gear reviewer. Period! Love your written reviews! Thanks a lot man for your hard work! I couldn't find anything on volots pairing with Arya in your review which you usually do in most of your amp reviews.....How do they pair...do the aryas scale well from fa-10 to volot?
Hi mate, Arya didn't scale that much, if you own the FA-10, then I would remain at that unit. With Volot you'll only get a bigger stage and a cleaner sound...with Susvara, that's a different story.
A single AHB2 still pounds and hits a little harder. In all honesty, I'm yet to try a faster and a harder slamming amplifier (of any sort) with the Susvara. However, Volot will be winning massive ground when it comes to soundstage size and flow. It just flows smoothly with everything, while AHB2 can be too serious at times. Personal preference pays a major role here. I'm a transient response nut, so...a single AHB2 is more to my liking, but it's also more expensive and it needs a preamp.
I believe on headfi someone mentioned Vitali (spelling?) implied that there will be a future iteration with pre-functionality. I think there was some issue with the pre implementation and rather than delaying the volot even longer he wanted to get the products out on the market. Niimbus did something similar with the US4 and US4+ models.

My VOLOT is on the way to me but I think I'll send it back, I wanted an amplifier and no room heater. Thats the reason i want to switch from Valve to Trans. Maybe the Ferrum OOR.
Hi. Great review :) Have you tried volot with arya's by any chance? Im planning to upgrade my amp game with aryas v2 atm, with a long term plan to either upgrade to lcd-5 or susvaras, not sure yet.
Bingo! Sometimes I'm using high-gain with LCD-4, but on very rare occasions (read: with my old blues collection that were recorded at -13 to -15 dB). High+ only with Suzy
I think he said don’t do this (put something on top) like I did to shoot the b role. Basically the way I interpreted it was he stacked them for the shots to make it look more photo worthy but this should not be the intended placement for functional use.

Actually even before the review and release of the Volot, I already know how it sounds. Its your typical Class A warmth and linear transparency. Very alternative solid state solution for OTL linear tubes.
Cool, been waiting for this review for so long. I pre-ordered as a gamble months ago, simply because you have been hinting the Volot could be a killer amp for the Susvara. Now, after 100 hour burn-in, I can only confirm this amp is simply breathtaking combo with the Sus. Volot did sound quite harsh fresh out of the box, without burn-in. But after 50 hours I could clearly hear the transformation to a much more sweeter and musical sound. Now, after 100 hours... this is pure bliss. Interestingly: normally I prefer higher gain settings on amps with the Sus: however I prefer currently the low gain setting on the Volot. BTW: I 100% agree with your review notes.
Hi Jeroen, Volot pairs excellent with Suzy no doubt, plus...headphone amps can't get much better than this. If you're crazy about transients as I am...you can squeeze a little bit more out of them with some power amps, more about that in the upcoming Suzy review.
@@Soundnews Sandu, I hope you review the Susvara with proper aftermarket headphone cables: the stock cable is a joke and does not allow the current required to drive the Sus properly: the difference is not subtle at all. BTW: I clearly prefer the lower gain settings over the higher ones: it sounds so much more fleshed out to me. The higher gain settings seem to much and I seem to lose body/texture/harmonics. This is just my personal experience.
Burson just released the Soloist 3GT for 2500 usd so right in the price range of the volot. Stated power is a bit lower but the technical capabilities seems pretty high.
All you have to do is look at each units internals side by side. The VOLOT isn't attempting to sell you it's capability, just looking at it tells you its a big deal.
