This is probably one of the most beautiful videos I've ever seen on RU-vid. Thank you. It literally brought a tear to my eye. I had to go back again and let the HD version load fully so I could truly enjoy it as you intended. I have never been moved by an internet video until today. Your love for fly fishing, and for carp is obvious, and I can't say enough how appreciative I am that you shared it with us so beautifully. Thanks again.
Beautiful. Really depicts the passion of fly fishing for carp. The same passion I give when I go out there to fly fish for any species. Thank you for the vid.
Saw this many many moons ago...and seeing it again, this is such a beautiful video of carp fly fishing. After all these years, I'm still after my first carp on the fly.
Sheesh, how can 63 people not appreciate this? I know this is an old video now and many have watched it, heck I know I've seen this at least half a dozen times over the last 3 years but this one just happened to show up again in my page. It's still awesome. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
Beautiful cinematography, beautiful form and grace. This absolutely proves that fly-fishing is not just for trout or salmon. And the soundtrack was perfect. Thanks for a delightful and frankly quite moving video. Bravo!
Carp are among the world's most respected fish. They were introduced to American waters and were among a handful of species that could survive the massive pollution, so naturally people associate them as a "dirty" fish. Lemme tell yah, they are as difficult as any to land on a fly and they fight like hell! Awesome video!
I love this video.. thank you so much for it, I have only been fly fishing for 7 months and I haven't had much luck catching any fish except for pan fish on flies since I have started. I have always loved fishing for trout but I have not been very successful at it on the fly rod but after watching this video, words are not needed. At 54 seconds into the video, that is exactly how I feel when fly fishing for trout, but I realized that is also part of the appeal! Thank God for fishing!
Dear thorn1231, with a great talent you stir all of us, fly fishermen, and even other, fishermen or not. Even so close to a city, and without enormous trouts or salmons, you show us what is the real art of flyfishing big and nice fishes, with a lot of dexterity and poetry. We owe you much respect and many thanks for this extremely rare moment. Keep working your art of fishing and of making movies, for the delighfulness of everyone.
*Never been more satisfied over a purchase online. Amazing quality, fits perfectly like this Fly Fishing t-shirt was made for me! Thanks would recommand to my friends.*
Like others, I come back to this stunning video repeatedly. This gentleman's evident skill, humility and pure joy in the experience comes through. Somehow the joy of being in nature, against an urban backdrop, makes it all the more appealing. It would be a privilege to spend some time on the water with him.
This is the greatest video of all time. Never before has there ever been this good of a video, and never will there be one, for the rest of time. Oh hail, hail the carp fishery beside the freeway. Ah-men.
This is the most beautiful fly fishing video I have seen to date and keep coming back for more incredible I never imagined fishing for Carp with a fly a true master well done.
This video makes me think of the quote: "Everything has beauty, but not everybody sees it." Props to you guys for finding and enjoying the simple things in a not simple world. God Bless.
Oh how I wish it was this beautiful.... 60% of the days you'll have mosquitos flying right on you, the sun beaming on you, the water rushing to make you off balance, not catching anything, losing a couple of good flies and baits, maybe falling in completely.... But the other 40%- the days that are like this, make up for it completely =)
Wow, now I know why he is the legend of fly fishing... There are two ways to watch this video- to look at the nature, fishes, river.... or to look at techniques to get the fish to you... wow...
mmmm the best 8 min for months... i forgot all about time and place almost with tears in my eyes, and POW.... back to reality :) realy nice edit loved it so much...
I've done a lot of carp fishing but with dry fly...you really can't beat that. This has got to be the best carp fly fishing video I have seen yet. Awesome footage and great representation of fly fishing. Totally Awesome!! Keep the videos coming... great job.
This is the last video me and my dad watched before he past this video means alot to me from time to time i watch it bring a smile with tears thank you for such a beautiful video
He gets deeper than I like to get LOL Good video, I even enjoyed the music! I have fly fished for carp & drum in the river a few years ago and forgot how much fun it was! Thanks for the reminder, I will go out again this summer (when trout fishing slow down :).
Fantastic photography!!.. Not only does that look very sporty it has change my whole outlook on Carp. An absolutely beautifully done piece of video....I tip my hat & my rod to you sir. From a fellow photographer and fly fisher of the Pacific North West ..USA
I learned a lot about camera positioning from this clip, the photographer has an eye for capturing the moment; the music was well chosen as well. Bravo, yee pee kah yea, wooohooo, ariba,
I was mesmorized by this video. Thank you so much for sharing that. That was stunning... just beautiful... Hard to even put in words... I fish a lot but you fish the way I dream of fishing.
wow...what a life...this looks like so much fun...less snooty than trout fishing, but still very graceful...I like the challenge of throwing my fly poppers at bass too : )
1:55 - "Behind The Head" action! Wow! Only the most skilled of flyfishermen have mastered this ancient art. Stanley Kowalski was beheaded in a tragic accident in 1949 in Coral Gables, FL, when he attempted this with an approximately 100lb. Tarpon.
This was a suprisingly good video. I didn't expect such high quality when I saw it was a clip about flyfishing for carp... I never saw someone actually doing that before and I'm really impressed with how challenging you've made it look. Some of your shots were incredible and I think the take and set at 6:11 is by far one of the best I've seen in any dry fly videos. The background music was perfect and very serene... it set the mood just right for that kind of fishing.
I watch this video at least once a year this video is so beautiful and this is the last fishing video I watched with my dad RIP I watched this video when it was first published 12 years ago
Music is from "Legends of the fall" and anyone who has seen this always links it to another brad pitt classic... "a river runs through it" a great flyfishing video lol. Have to say its the first flyfishing video ive ever seen like this...but anyone getting out and doing this sport and getting it recorded.. props to you.
That could be my local urban river in London Ontario...or any big city river. I love fly fishing for carp. This video puts a whole new light on the subject. What a beautiful job you've done. It's amazing what great background music can do.
