I wish you to discover fly fishing very quickly because a pike caught on the fly is worth ten caught with lures. Not that I discredit lure fishing, I myself am versatile, but more and more I often only fish with fly. The reason is simple, a 60 cm trout is already a very large one, while a 60 cm pike is a baby! Find out quickly. You are right to look for a mentor, because if it is possible to learn by yourself, a mentor will helps you to correct mistakes right away. Learning casting is not so difficult, after that you can enjoy the pleasure of catching fish on these ultra flexible rods! A pike of 1 meter on a fly rod is something, it's what I wish you as it happened to me last year with a mama of 115 cm for more than 10 kilos and another one little more than 7 kilos. 1.buy a setup. 2.read on the internet. 3.get confidence to go out and cast. 4.break down becuse first 200 casts will surely suck. 5. leave it in the closet for 1 year. 6. go out again try 200 casts.....repeat ^^
