Fly fishing for the wild brown trout of the River Exe is out, rain and cold weather has stopped that. So I went to Wimbleball to hopefully fill the freezer with some rainbow trout and maybe to do a bit of catch and release. Despite the cold, I was even able to use a dry fly!

I’m glad I could help. I think fly fishing suffers from it having an image of being difficult and expensive. It really isn’t, the sport needs to do more to show how simple it can be. Thanks for watching

Going to have to give the lake a go. I’m primarily a dry fly angler and fish Colliford for the browns so to see the bows munching drys was good.

Thanks for sharing - it is good to fight a fish on the reel once in awhile ( I fish very small streams for small native brookies most of the time)
