In this week's video, I'm on the Lower Mountain Fork River fly fishing for rainbow trout with Chris Schatte of Beavers Bend Fly Fishing Guide Service. My target this time: WILD rainbow trout. I have to get off the beaten path to find them but with scenery like this, the fish are just a bonus.
We had a brief two day period where the whole family was going to be together so we planned a trip to Beavers Bend and Hochatown Oklahoma (aka Broken Bow Oklahoma or McCurtain County) to get away and then all the virus madness hit. With all the Coronavirus madness taking place we weren't sure if we should go but we couldn't get a refund so we headed out and practiced out social distancing.
We had a blast fishing for trout, caught a ton of fish and lost of ton of fish as well (those catfish hooksets don't work well for trout).
If you've never been to Broken Bow or Hochatown it's 100% worth the trip there, it's a gorgeous area of the country and things move a bit slower on Hochatime.
