The Taupō Trout Diaries- Series 2 Episode 20
A series of videos of Fly Fishing in the Taupō District, New Zealand.
This video covers Labour Weekend on the Tongaririo River. Lots of fish, crystal clear water , we managed to land a few, and lost a number of fish as well :(
This video captures those days , forever . Talked to some wonderful people.
Catch and release , lovely well conditioned trout , released to fight another day .

I was using a jelly glo bugs and slushies most of the time in this video . Primal brand , 9ft, 6wt indicator rod was what I used mostly today, had my euro wt3 with me as well.

That spot just above the bridge on both sides was prime realestate this year many many fish came out of there. It is a easy go to place if you just want to fill the freezer

Hi, some very strong fish, one looked like it had made up its mind to make a run back to the lake! Been here this week and hooking into a dozen fish from 8am to 2 pm. Good fun, but a very few good fish, some of the jacks look like they have go e through unarmed combat. One I caught this morning had a belly wound that could have been caused by a Heron’s beak. Cold front moving in, may have a fresh run yet. Cheers mate. Harera

Hi Tony, I have my brother over from England and I'd really love to get him on to some fish on the Tongariro in a couple of weeks. We'll only have a day and a bit. We had a go when he was last here but not knowing the river, everywhere we dropped in to was too fast or wide or difficult casting. The spot you are fishing 2 minutes in to this video however, looks great - don't suppose you'd give me a clue as to where this is?

Great video! Love your content. This is a really strange request. But I was also fishing the Tongariro River that weekend. And I believe that my fishing buddy and I are in the lower left corner of your drone shot at 0:39. Is there any chance I could get a copy of that drone shot from you? I may also put together a video of my trip and would love to use that shot if you’re open to it. Thanks in advanced
