Fly Fishing Rainbow's End, Morgan Run, MD - Wooly Bugged

When I saw your post on Twitter, I thought that rainbow had to be from Morgan Run, and I was right! I went there today and got about 10 myself. I recorded my first video on the GoPro. I will need to learn how to edit but got some good fish and hopefully good footage. I LOVE your blogs and videos. Keep up the good work and hopefully I will cross your path on a stream soon!

I lived in MD in the early 2000's and Morgan Run was my favorite stream. I still look back at some of the written logs I kept from Morgan Run with fond memories. I recognized some of the water toward the end of the video... especially the rocky section. It's probably been 15 years since I've fished it. At the time it was delayed harvest because the stream would not sustain fish over the summer. Then they would stock again when it got cool enough and you could fish again until it got too warm. There is a great book written by Larry Coburn (was heavily involved in the TU at the time) called the Guide to Maryland Trout Fishing. Great book for anyone who wants to fish down there. They usually throw some big breeders in the creeks. I never caught one but you could see them every once in a while (well over 20"). Great channel Mike. Diggin your stuff! Check us out in Upstate NY! Very nice! I live less than 20 miles from Morgan Run and fished it years ago and caught lots of trout, but mostly browns back then. I need to get there and have some fun! Nothing wrong with stocked fish and in some Back East regions that's the only trout fishing available. Good work!

Love Morgan run. Fishing is always really good, especially after the stockings. Brown trout stocking isn’t too far off so you might have to come back down when they do and fish with me lol.

Great video I was there the other day when was 80 in shorts caught 21 in about 2hrs had a great day. Finally got to try out my new Mystic M 3wt had a ball!

Awesome video!! Keep it up! Looks like a really fishy spot. Just got done doing some wild brown trout fishing and it's nothing like catching stocked fish lol fished 5 hours only got 2 trout. It's like once you catch one trout nothing else will bite in the hole and you have to move to another one lol.

They certainly do have an excellent stocking program, those fish were big. Was that a little or early back stone? I've seen them on Chittenango creek in April. Hey Mike . New videos I found. NDyakAngler. Check out the smallies this guy puts in his boat. His style and set up is killer. He uses spinning rods but keeps it so simple fishing from his kayak.

What size leader you using again with the 5x tippet? Bout what 3 to 5lb leader?

Some of those trout get into liberty reservoir and get huge if Striped Bass don't eat them.

You need to fish the “squirmy” on a stretch of the Patapsco. I’ve killed 100+ fish on a red San Juan in spring and fall and know that will dominate.
