Fly Fishing Summer Lull, Savage River Tributary, MD - Wooly Bugged 

Michael Evanko heads to Savage River State Forest in Western Maryland to meet up with Instagram buddies Brad Burbas and Matt Willison. Brad shows Mike some summer morning brookies on a Savage River tributary. Matt joins later and unfortunately the fishing slows for the afternoon. Many of the Savage River tribs deal with low water in the summer but this particular trib was flowing well. The water temps were in the low 60s. Brad and Mike catch fish on a mixture of dry fly, nymph, and streamer patterns. Successful patterns included a custom tied Parachute Adams, a custom Hare's Ear nymph pattern tied by Frankie Schoenfelt, and a white Wooly Bugger.
