The Soca River is beautiful and spectacular as it is famed to be, definitely the crown jewel of the Slovenian rivers! Donna O'Sullivan was blessed with a warm sunny day to fish the crystal clear waters of the Soca.
Guided by Uros Kristan, URKO Flyfishing Adventures, Donna caught many nice sized rainbows and 2 more marble trouts about 14-15in, a really fun day fighting feisty rainbows that run around in circles!
Huge thanks to Uros for spotting the fish, great flies, all the help and instructions to be successful on the Soca! It was really fun and a pleasure fishing with you :-) I shall return for more adventures in Slovenia, just love the rivers!

Where is the first spot ? Its so beautiful with the tree

It is the upper section of the Soca River not long after the descent from the mountain. If you are thinking about fishing there, you can contact my guide Uros Kristan.

tie your flies and net your fish by yourself smh

Thanks for watching! Actually I do tie my own flies and used a few there, got some takes on them. However, the guide has the local flies that are tried and true, so we used his flies mostly. As for netting myself, I have on another river. Why not use the guide and his expert knowledge on flies when he is helping me? That's what we pay them for! :-)
