i kind of love how in the modern age the "Definitive" rendition of Fly Me To The Moon is the performance for NGE

Imo, it's always been Frank Sinatra's version for me as he influenced me a lot and is one of my musical influences - but the visuals for the NGE version are just too perfect to not use!

Fly Me to the Moon is a 1950's song (1954) that was covered by Frank Sinatra in the 1960s (1964). That was the definitive version for most everyone---until 1995, 30 years later, and almost 30 years ago. There's something so very neat about that. Now, if you're older, the definitive version is Sinatra's, but if you're younger, and most especially if you're an anime fan, chances are the definitive version is the NGE one. It's a very neat dividing line, and like you, I really love that. Also, fun fact, since Frank Sinatra died in 1998, it's technically possible he heard the Evangelion version at some point towards the very end of his life.

This is legitimately competing against the ending of Neon Genesis Evangelion wich was considered the greatest version of Fly Me to the Moon until now. So I have a lot of Japanese friends and family, and visit there every year or so. A few months ago they sent me a bunch of city pop, and over time I discovered more and more until I came across your channel and shared it with them. Just wanted to let you know that not only do I love your music, but it blew my friends and family away that there's such a love for city pop in the west that we have artists like yourself doing such amazing covers and remakes. I have to say the same. I've been listening to the song in all sorts of different versions, but this cover just feels so *perfectly right* to me. Melodic, entrancing, with just the right amount of *pop* to it. I immediately downloaded it to my phone, and I've started leaving it on loop while I read fanfic of a romantic nature. This means I now associate the song with certain ships and even certain feelings I get while reading a really good story.

Wonderful! I'd give more attack and shine to the brasses and strings in the arrangement, since they're used mainly as rhythmic cues and as an harmonic support, but apart from that, it's an incredible rendition!! Love it!
