Just ordered this based on your review! Fly should definitely partner with you to some degree, no one else reviews their products as thoroughly as you do. Thanks again!
Thanks for reviewing and sharing! I've started building my Fly set thanks to your videos - the Storm boots first, then the Superloop as well. I'm now looking to get a headguard, I'm between the Superbar and the Knight, which one would you recommend? Saw you rated these higher in vision (96 vs 94 on the Knight)?
@@Fit2Box the large fits me well on my temples when tightened all the way but still slides a bit once I sweat in it, like I said I’m a 22.5 so do you think I should stick with the large or make the exchange for the medium? I know it’s hard to see seeing as we’re only speaking thru RU-vid but any advice helps Fit2Box I appreciate all your reviews and your consistency in replies 🙏
I have problems with my nose and it can't take shots. I wanted to ask you, do the blows to the nose come more lightly or do they not come at all? You would be doing me a great favor by replying, thank you
If fitted correctly then you nose is protected As I always say the headguard should not be part of your defence Improve your hand defences head movement and footwork to reduce blows received
Really appreciate your reviews man. Got my fly x headgear and gloves for sparring and the addispeed for bagwork and im Really happy with my gear. Dont think it can get better. I had issues with my headgear moving when i would sweat but just needed to tighten it real good and solved the issue. Have you tried the new boxeo TM torres medina gloves?
You should check them out and do a review on them. Most comfortable and on weight mexican style gloves ive tried. And I personally hate mexican style gloves like reyes
If the bar touches my nose is that because the size is too small? I order a medium overall it doesnt feel too small but it does touch push up on my nose a bit. Ive tried pressing to make it fit better but it doesnt really budge. My nose btw isnt really that large.
Just to let you guys know the new fly head guard premium line has a plastic thing like winning, the strap at the bottom has changed, was very happy with that, they made the Change !
what is the best way ti treat synthetic leather at the moment I give my Superbar X and fly Wraith X a wipe down with a towel to get rid of the sweat can I use leather protector spray to treat the synthetic leather?
Well the leather cleaner won’t sink into the synthetic leather like it does the animal skin So a wipe down with a anti bacterial wipe and a towel will be fine
A bit off topic . What are your opinions of the rival RS100 sparring gloves . I have watched your video on them but was wondering if you’re opinion has changed ?
@@Fit2Box I recently purchased them from a friend in the green and gold . Only used for about 25 2 min rounds . He didn’t like them I paid 110 pounds for them . The retail was 180 I think
@@Fit2Box they were too small when he had hand wraps on and they were tight around his thumb . But he has massive hands they are 18oz. Yes I like them a lot they are very comfortable and smooth when punching if that makes sense
Yes you are correct the chin is exposed in facebar headguards And the bar does impede your vision more than say a cheek headguard I’m very used to using a facebar head guard so I am able to block uppercuts but definitely a more difficult shot to block with a facebar
Should the Fly facesaver headgear be snug in the cheek area? I went off the size guide and got a Large. While it fits around the head when laced all the way, it isn’t snug around the cheeks. I wasn’t sure if that’s normal for facesavers given the cage, or if that’s a sign it’s too big
What size is did you get the black one in? I ordered small yesterday but I think I possibly might’ve made a mistake. My head is around 20.6inch circumstance and I want the best visibility possible and for the headgear to not be moving around 😭
The metal buckle doesn't look like it will be that comfortable against your jaw without a pad there? I ordered one, I hope it won't be a problem when I get it.
@@WholesaleJewelleryAustralia and I don't have it yet. It should be arriving here this week. Subscribe to my channel because I will do a review video on it
What do you think of the new Elite SHG-210 cheek headguard from Phenom? Looks very very similar to the winning FG-2900 I thinking of getting it as it is only 125 quid and quality looks very top notch.
Hi mate do you think I should get the fly superloop leather and use it for both sparring and bag work or get the fly superloop X along with a bag glove to use separately. I’m on a budget of £400. Great channel btw
Hi and thanks for the review, very informative. I received mine today and the nose bar actually touches my nose. Is that how its supposed to be or should there be a gap between your nose and the bar? thanks for your help.
Squeeze the sides to create more nose room Have it on and forcefully press the sides of the head guard that will change the shape of the metal cage inside It can be changed many times
@@alett88 you should be able to get a near perfect fit for your head Don’t let anyone wear your headguard As it will change the shape from your head The more you use it the more it will shape to your head
The Superbar X is still sold out in L as of now, but the M is still in stock. I'm wondering if you think I'd be able to manipulate one in M to fit my head (my head is roughly the same size as yours, around 22.5 inches)
For extra reference, I wear L in the FG2900, but I tie the laces all the way down so that there is no gap at all at the back of the headgear to expose the back of my head.
My headgear arrived. For rhe first look, it touches my nose. Is it a problem? Im not sure i need an xl, or i have to make it to m head, to fit. Or test it.
Sometimes it`s nice, sometimes not. If i move my head up, than it touches. But i have to try it in a sparring session. I just affraid, if it hits my nose hard, when a straight shot comes. But it fits my head good, so i dont think, the XL could be the right size. Should i try to bend more?
I think I’d love to get this headgear but the lace up on the back makes me hesitant! Every time we spar I gotta have someone lace me up compared to just using Velcro!
Haha. I just got one but the bar is so close to the nose even after bending it to my face that I’m not sure if the bar there will do more harm then good.
@@Fit2Box i just ordered a Fly Xline Superbar in the new Gold and Black colorway they just released to match my premium Black and Gold Fly Superlace. I just got a Winning FG-2900 based on your recommendation and I love it but I also want a facebar just in case
@@Fit2Box Thanks, I just tried the winning face saver on tonight and the bar was touching my nose, I also tried the cleto Reyes tradional facesaver on and there was a nice gap between the bar and my nose, nice and tight aswel.
@@ObbardProductions with winning you can apply pressure to the sides to bend the aluminium cage inside to give you more nose room and a better fit Don’t do this with the Reyes as it is a nylon bar and will snap
I'm I the only one who thinks this headguard is painful as hell I have the correct size n when I tighten it it hurts but If I don't it gets knocked everywhere
Superb review of what appears to be two great face-saver headgears from FLY. For me, the buckle closure on the chin-strap is a deal-breaker. 🙁 If FLY were ever to bring back a mini-clip closure on the chin strap (as was used on their original X-Line cheek protectors and also on their previous genuine leather version), I'd jump on them in a heartbeat. Again, thanks for another great review, Simon! With love, appreciation, and respect from the USA.
When i bought the fly hesdgear i thought they still use the clip closure cause they still use the same picture in the website. Was pretty dissapointed since i don't like buckle closures but still a good headgear in general
@@Hondafn well the protection of a face bar is very good but the bar does give you less vision so it’s a trade off Protection for vision Much better to work on your hand defence Head movements and footwork than expect the facebar to protect
@@jeffc7502 I wear a 7 3/8 hat size and I wear a large. There is no lace space in the back of the head gear. In other words, you can’t see the back of my head when I wear it. Basically I have a small large heard, or I’m a really big medium. I hope that helps.
@@carbonfiberfan Thank you, and that is quite helpful. If I am correct, 7 3/8 is the equivalent to 23 1/8th according to the size chart on FLY’s website. The FLY headgear Large range falls between 22.5-24, so if anything (since you really can’t tie the laces any smaller), this would suggest that the small end of a size Large is more likely close to 23 in (although Simon’s 22.5 in head fits the Large as well). In sum, from what I gather, it sounds like FLY’s size chart is pretty accurate-although it’s worth noting here for other readers that it is NOT the same equivalent (but close) as the Winning size chart. With that being said, I find the medium Winning FG5K to fit me much better than the large FG5K (which is too bulky IMO), but the FLY SUPERBAR X in a size large fits me very good. Thank you again for your helpful response! 👊😉👍
@@carbonfiberfan My reason for asking was I am wondering if a medium FLY Superbar would work well for me (if not better than my large), as I’ve always felt that-comfort permitting of course-the smaller the target (in this case the overall headgear size), the better!
@@Fit2Box I can't change the form of the facebar and it touches the tip of my nose. Then I bought the Italian Matadorboxing Facebar headgear and it is perfect. I have other headguards: Twins Special HGL3 Full Face, Hayabusa T3 LX, Fairtex Diagonal Vision and Boxia Challenge and they gave me no problems
