Here's a novel idea. If councils really want to cut down on fly tipping, why don't they provide the facilities for people to be able to legitimately dispose of waste without any hassle, instead of putting endless obstacles in their way? I'm not condoning fly tipping but there would be no incentive to do it if councils provided proper waste disposal facilities in the first place.
I don't really see the point in crushing the vehicle. Seizing should be enough and then sell the vehicle and use the proceedes to fund general clean up efforts. Crushing is just a waste and creates more pollution be requiring the manufacturing of a new vehicle. Now if the culprit is belted into the driver's seat while crushing, I see the point.
