A great 101 video. -I suggest adding a good amount of gold or silver Flashabou to that tail though before wrapping the body. That’s Lefty Kreh’s favorite classic old bass fly. It will beat all the “new” flies more often than not! ♥️
The denier of the thread is the thickness. 140 is pretty thick and generally used for bigger flies like this Seaducer or larger streamers. For dry flies you should use a smaller denier thread 80 or smaller. The thread is also guaged in ought numbers, the higher the ought number the thinner the thread. I usually try to give both when I do a video. Sorry I only used denier on this one. 3/0 would be about 210 denier, 6/0 is about 140, 8/0 is about 70. 10/0 12/0 14/0 would go 50, 30, 15, or something close. Vevus thread make some pretty strong 14/0 and 16/0. Great question! Jim
