The BTD for me has been the best practical fly I’ve ever fished. Currently working on extended version. Thanks for your content Gunnar! I believe this will be great for reds and speckled trout around here. It’s already solid on bass. Excellent movement.

Setting the taper of the bucktail from low to higher angle as you move towards the front of the fly was tricky for me. The hollow tie is more involved but gives greater control of the angle. I tried the flat tie technique and found bucktail selection and thread tension could make some taper. Thanks for the great tutorial.

Nice tie Gunnar, thanks for sharing! Guess this is going to be "obsolote" once you introduce bucktail brushes for the extended bodies. Did you try other materials like single strand titanium for the extension? What is the benefit of using Mono over Titanium - especially durability-wise when fishing for pike for example?
