I've been tying this fly for use on the Deschutes River in central Oregon. I use slightly different colors and wings, but it's basically the same. The fish can't leave it alone!
The wing in the video is made out of 3M Medical Tape. You can buy it at drug stores. I just take a piece off of the roll and stick it to Medallion Sheeting. The synthetic wing tied on top of the CDC and the tape wing is Super Hair. It gives the fly a fluttering look....
This pattern works great with a size 4, 6, or 8 - 2 xl heavy wire hook. A heavy hook will allow the fly to turn over and land right every time and the foam keeps it floating.....
nice pattern, it sure would have been helpful to learn how that extended portion is tied with some commentary. impressive, but not very instructive. too bad. i don't know what the purpose of the High Speed was. it sure wasn't helpful.
