I do the extra hackle on the head . I find this increases the bulk on the head significantly, which in turn helps push water when fished.

I'm wanting to dress the tail end hook on pike lures to depict the tail fins of fish, do you have any idea how I could go about it. The hooks need to be short shank and wide gape!

I'd just use some cheap cock saddle feathers (Indian saddles) and maybe a little crystal flash. Tie them a bit splayed.

Hello Martin. this is a awesome fly. looks very good and different from " the standard" woolly bugger. i have a question. wich brand soft hackle do you user for the front hackle. i have buy a soft hackle but this is to small.. Many thanks for your andere.
