Very nice Fly! The pattern leaves plenty of options for variation and I will certainly give it a try in the coming weeks for Grayling. Again the filming is excellent quality even although you had difficulties with the upload. Keep it up, I am sure Davie McPhail will appreciate your comments also. Well done. Alistair
Nice fly Simon, I have been in hospital so I have some catching up to do. I love Davie's channel too. You watch the best and you can't help emulating them. I love your flies too. I did not know you had a store. Have you bought a store, or do you have a job tying too.The flies from China have put most of us out of tying in a store in the U.S. It is my dream job. I am a nurse in my real job but would love to be a full time tier. All the best, Sean
Thank you Sean. I really hope you feel better. I am now working in a store and I'm responsible for the fly tying, so all from orders to marketing. Yes the competition with low price flies from abroad is really harsh and making a living out of fly tying is quite a challenge. All the best, Simon
Hello again, I made a mistake when ordering the Insta Jig beads. The size I ordered were 2.8mm and 3.2mm. I will send both back to the supplier. They have very big drill holes in them and are not suited for smaller flies. The 2.3mm that you are using for this video is mounted on a size 10 hook and I suspect that it will not suit a smaller size than a 10? The idea of the insta jig hook is great, but, they are very expensive and you only get 10 per pack. This is a great wee fly and it is tied really well but we have to look at the price and be careful which size you order. I thought I needed to post this comment as the Hareline products are super but this is very expensive and the cost of Jig Hooks and a slotted Tungsten bead is far cheaper option considering that the chance of losing the hook is fairly high! Thank you for the video but I thought your viewers should be aware before they buy this bead! Alistair
I'm sorry for the inste jig beads, the one's I've got worked really well. Yes I don't think the 2.3mm works on smaller but there's a 2.0mm as well for that. The beads are quite expensive yes, but the idea is really cool and I especially like it as you can use a wide variety of hooks. Thanks for the feedback and yes everyone shoulf know all points of view before buying.
