Thanks for the video. I have tied dozens of these flies in several colors and they are my =go to= streamer. BIG fish CRUSH this fly. You can easily chuck it with a spinning rod loaded with 10lb braid and 3X fluoro tippet if u are old like me and/or don't want to flail the water with your fly rod. Fish it as if it was a sculpin, which is exactly what it imitates. I absolutely guarantee you that you will consistently catch THE biggest fish. It is a stone cold killer. By far my favorite streamer.
I HAVE THIS KIT....I AM NEW TO FLY TYING HOW DO I TELL CROSSCUT / FROM STRAIGHTCUT.....MAY BE BETTER TO PUT IN TWO BAGS MARKED...JUST A THOUGHT....THANKS
It is fairly straightforward. When you look at a rabbit strip and the hair runs down the length of the leather strip, then it is a Straight-Cut piece. This is used to tied in on top of the fly and runs from the front to back of the fly to create the back and tail of the fly. When you look at a rabbit strip and the hair stands-out to one side at right-angle to the leather strip then it is crosscut. This is used to wrap around the hook shank from back-to-front and creates the under body of the fly. Hope this helps.
