Flybe is Back!! Flybe's first ever flights. (Birmingham - Belfast City - Glasgow International)

Flybe is Back! The UK's & Europes largest regional airline that went bust in 2020 has been reborn.
In this video we are going to take Flybe's first ever flight after coming back from the deal after Flybe went bust. We are taking the first Flybe flight from Birmingham International Airport to George Best Belfast City airport. This first inaugural flight will take us out of birmingham airport and over the Irish Sea to Belfast city airport.
This new flybe has started with two bases Birmingham and belfast city, operating at launch a fleet of 3 de Havilland Canada Dash 8 Q400's the Q400 was the main type of aircraft operated by the old Flybe Airline.
The second route that Flybe is starting is the route from Belfast City Airport to Glasgow International Airport on another De havilland canada dash 8 Q400. the flight from Belfast city to glasgow airport takes us once again over the irish sea.
Flybe intent by the end of 2023 to have a fleet of 32 de Havilland Canada Dash-8 Q400's

Great video! Flew on the 15:10 flight to BHD on the 13th it was so good to be back on the dash 8, was a really good Flybe flight.

@@WorldWide_Dom I thought it was great. Belfast city is my local so it’s great to have a proper Flybe base at it again. I flew out of the Aer Lingus (Emerald airlines) ATR 72 to BHX and returned to BHD in the afternoon on Flybe and I found the dash 8 much smoother and less noisy. I have BHD to LBA booked for July with Flybe and I’m also interested in trying the new LHR/AMS services.

Great to see Flybe back and the new livery is a big improvement from that Close to You rubbish attempt of a rebrand in 2018. My only gripe is the interior and crew uniforms but other than that very impressed.

I loved flying with Flybe and was genuinely upset when it ceased. The staff were always so lovely, so it's great to see it back. I can't wait for their other routes to open up. Welcome back, Flybe 😍

Great Flybe is back, used them for years, was sad when they stopped flying. Always had amazing staff and nothing was too much trouble. Hope they go on even bigger and better than they were before.

Excellent video, thank you! For UK plane enthusiasts Flybe was part of our staple diet, both for spotters and travellers. Great to see them back. I hope they get some connection back with Exeter as it was a major company and employer for the city. Was a catastrophe for the area when it went under in 2020.

Been hearing a lot about Exeter airport's woes after Flybe went under, sadly this kind of thing has been happening to a lot of airports over the past few years. I do hope that things improve. I'm guessing Exeter is your local airport?

@@WorldWide_Dom Yes, I used to fly to Europe with them as it meant not having to drive to a bigger airport first. Plus they sponsored the football and rugby clubs.

Watched your video - slightly upset for not spotting myself... LOL I must admit, I loved every moment on the flight and it was like getting band back together again. Loved the open invite to the cockpit after landing which was just awesome It was great to hear Jersey on the radios again

It was a surprise though there were signs that things were not going smoothly, delays in starting new routes, subcontracting routes to charter airlines & lengthy delays in reviving their Dash-8’s to name a few.

Flying down from Scotland I used Birmingham airport many times for business and pleasure and the security procedures there were always interminably long so no change there then and while I appreciate your right to wear a mask it impairs hearing what you are actually saying in parts.

At time of filming this, masks were compulsory in Scotland (where I live) though not the rest of the UK, but as a rule of thumb to avoid any inconvenience I always obey the regulations of the country that has the strictest rules when i'm traveling between places that have different rules. As for the audio I am working on getting a better microphone and maybe a microphone that I can wear to help with future videos. I hope the audio didn't stop you enjoying this flight. 😁

Speaking to CEO and other staff, there was a real emphasis on following a budget airline model, only flying out of main hubs to many destinations, only operating on type of aircraft etc. Which for a domestic airline in the Uk i think is the 100% right model & I hope they continue that way. At the end of the day the way I see it more competition will only serve to bring prices for customers down, which is great! 😁

I'd love to see Flybe get back to their best again if that's possible. I did the Belfast to BHX route so so often as I live in NI and my former co's HQ was in Brum. I did notice though that they over serviced the route in terms of number of flights per day - all of which were under half full. I'd rather a slimmer service and longevity. Great video - thank you.

What is the problem with UK airports and waiting times? I fly regularly from Barcelona and never experience such delays and generally through in 5 to 10 minutes.

I'm not entirely sure myself. I think more recently, staffing issues are one of the main causes.

I flew Flybe a number of times from Exeter to various UK destinations - and on balance they were always terrible ( and bloody expensive! ) so lets hope they have morphed into something better.

We often used Flybe for connecting to Air France flights at Charles de Gaulle. We only flew on the Jungle Jets which were superb, never got to fly the Q400. They were superb. So, Nonstop, please tell me that you are not Vegan like your namesake so that we can get real world food reviews. Nothing against vegans but we need to know what food is available in addition to vegan options.

Nonstop just refers to the fact that I like to always be on the go, so yes I can confirm that I'm not vegan, I'm the kind of person that will eat or try anything. To be honest I didn't even known the phrase nonstop was associated with vegan 😅 I'll need to look that up. Don't worry there will be proper food reviews, on flight and otherwise 😁

Just checked their fares there, Glasgow to Belfast - Friday 28th may flybe =£73.99 one flight - Easyjet same Glasgow to Belfast (international) from £29.99 on a 737, not a turboprop , so easyjet are still far cheaper on this route.
