It's based on the aircraft CG. Check the payload page on the EFB or on the PERF page on the mcdu. Then check the graph on the left of the throttle quadrant next to the trim wheel you'll see the cg values next to the trim values. Just turn the wheel to line it up with the arrow.

This series was great. Where you lost me as an absolute beginner was unfortunately the navigraph charts given they are paid. Excellent none the less. I'd say even if I bought navigraph charts, if I wasnt following an exact tutorial I wouldnt have a clue how to read those!

followed from video one, never done this before. thanks for the great tutorial. managed to do it somehow lol. idk if its something to do with a32nx model controls or something but the current one when taxiing will not turn and will turn the opposite way before turning the intended way, which leads to super over compensation when turning, was super frustrating. also on the approach maybe maybe below 2000ft for some reason AP turned off and would not turn back on anymore, had to hand fly it to the runway with some issues with AT too. but overall great tutorial, followed everystep of yours and managed to get there somehow lol.

Excellent tutorials. You have earned a subscriber. I've watched all three parts thoroughly before taking flight. I made a couple of mistakes but all in all, I think I did pretty good thanks to your informative videos. I think I'm missing something though, I don't see the top of decent arrow that points down. I have the latest update in sim and the fbw. Any clue as to what may be the problem?

I saw already a few questions about the top of descent indicator but no answers yet .. me too I am curious why it is shown in the video and not for me. I tried the stable, dev and experience version of the A32nx. Could it be a setting in the MCDU that we forgot? And actually the docs for the A32nx are saying that TOD is not implemented, so how can it be that it was visible in the tutorial then? 😀

My game does this weird thing where at the top of descent, it will just freeze. But it won't actually crash, I can still hear everything happening but I just can't do anything.

I understood everything except why the Arrival Procedure was done via the RONAD transition. I did not see that anywhere in the Simbrief flight plan. Answer might be simple.. Newbie here.

I don't know if you have figured it out yet, but the transitions are not in flight plans but in charts, navdatapro, navigraph...

I know im a bit late but how do you know whst VIAS you have to select? For example you had the PISA1X arrival so why not select PISAP but you selected RONAD? Thanks if you actually replied to this comment

Theres a few different ones you can choose. I chose that one because it's the first waypoint where my ils approach starts.

Is there a bug with the reverse thrust lever and activation button? My throttle doesn't lock or stop when I get to 0/idle and will go to reverse thrust regardless of the button being used.

I've had a problem where there are some discontinuities that refuse to be cleared on the flight computer. I program an approach and the following discontinuities just come back as "Not Allowed" when i try clear them? Is there something I am doing wrong?

I am having problems with the "via" when putting in the information of the ILS approach to the MCDU, how did you know RONAD is the one to choose, where does it tell you? Because I don't know, I choose random ones and even after clearing flight discontinuity from the MCDU the plan looks broken. Please help.

If you look at the ILS chart for the approach you will see the initial approach fix is RONAD, there is more to choose from but in this case RONAD is the most logical choice because it is along our route.

There's no sound addons. That's the standard A32nx sounds. Only AIG traffic

As soon as I enter destination information, for any flight, my plane starts its descent no matter where I am in the flight plan. I haven't even reached my cruising altitude and my in-game pilot is announcing initial descent. I have entered it exactly the same as you have here, but I can see that there are altitude changes beside each waypoint for some reason. This happens with every flight plan and every destination for me. What's going on?

Thank you very much for this tutorial, if I can make a question I don't have clear how I set the speed of 250 knt and above... I don't understand if it does automatically if I see the lines and the dot on speed withou me doing nothing, only set up the automatic speed (the lines and the dot). Or do I have to do something? Obviously I set the MCDU exactly like you did on the previous episodes...

I know this is an old video sir but, I watched other guy ils approach landing tutorial, and there he said that keep attention on magenta Diamond when it hit middle on the below indicator then press localizer, then it would bring up the magenta Diamond on side indicator only when it reach mid then you press approacu button. But here you just went ahead and push approach button even without magenta Diamond hit middle in either indicator. Is localizer is not necessary in this type of aircraft sir? Sorry for the long comment, I just want to understand it fully I'm a new aviation geek eager to learn also on a site note I can't afford a Navigraph subscription because I'm just a college student. Could be that you're lower than you think you are. Make sure you have the correct barometric pressure set in your altimeter (QNH/HPA)

How do you find BARO value without any charts? I don't have navigraph subscription and chartfox does not have the airport that I'm flying to.

Baro value is found on the weather report not the charts

@phuongnhuha it's your weather in the sim. If you're flying with real world weather on in the sim just check your weather in the sim. Look for QNH or ALTIMETER value in the weather page

I'm hoping you can give me some advice..... I would like to setup a simple very short flight from London Gatwick to London Heathrow so that I can practice my ILS landings after taking full control of the aircraft at 1000 feet. The whole point of this exercise is to be able to fly several approaches in quick succession so I need to perform the bare minimum setup with the A32NX - I just need the bare essentials so I can take off and fly the approach. I assume I need a basic flight plan (SimBrief) but after that I am not sure what other elements I need to configure to make this possible (I want to avoid spending a lot of time configuring the various systems before I can get the aircraft in the air). Can anyone give me an idea of how to achieve this and advise what the bare minimum essential things are that I need to do this.... Thanks in advance for any advice

If you look at the chart RONAD was the nearest transition along our flight route. The one that makes the most sense

Where did YOU GET (RONAD) FROM AFTER PISA1X ? That's what gets me confused every time, is not in the simbrief flight plan.

It's on the charts. I use navigraph but you can use any charts online. It's the last point of the STAR and the Initial approach fix for the ILS approach.

Something I don’t understand. In the 737 when you are preparing your descent, you set your altitude lower and wait to arrive at the descent point (you follow the FMC.) Do you do the same in the A32nx? Or do you have to do another step? Thanks.

You do the same the only difference is you have to start your descent manually in the airbus when you get to your descent point

I did it. I calculated my descent, hit all my constraints, caught loc and the gs, brought it in. Screwed up the taxiing a little but still getting used to the steering rudder . Thanks for the help.

You can type them back into the mcdu. Or you can just go directly to ronad

It was but it's now avaliable on the stable version. Make sure to update your A32nx using the FlybyWire installer.

I am not sure but I think it is in case of an autopilot failure, so as to have a backup autopilot working (that's just my guess)

It's on the charts. It's usually the waypoint that connects the STAR to the approach.

Yes its shown on the charts. It's usually a waypoint along the route of your approach. if you're not using navigraph you can search online for the charts of your airport.

@@beepergeedle1942 in the example flight there is an initial approach fix called RONAD. It's the first point on the ILS chart. It's also the last point on the STAR chart. That's where the STAR joins the ILS. There is more than one point where you can join the STAR based on the direction you are coming from. In my example coming from the north RONAD is the VIA I use.

Good video but as a “begginer tutorial” next time try to actually make it as if you were one too, im saying this because you used navigraph and 99% of begginers dont have that so there a lot of steps at least in my case that im not sure how to proceed because you did it with that and didnt provide any other alternative option or explained how can we do it without it.

Good point. There are free alternatives to navigraph but they only display the charts. Try chartfox.org
